I would describe this as a sweet but fresh scent, surprising given a list of notes that might sound like a glorpy sweet fruit-gourmand, but it's all balanced really well. It's sweet, don't get me wrong -- a light trace of red apple and a deep fig note with a healthy wallop of wonderful BPAL honey -- but the overall effect is not knock you over the head syrupy. The thyme was really an inspired addition to this blend because it adds a fresh clean tang to help balance out the fruits. The sandalwood is unobtrusive, just quietly hanging out in there supporting from underneath.
My synaesthesia says that this scent is "colored" much like the picture that inspired it -- pale gold for the honey, a dash of red for the apple, deep russet shot with purple for the fig and the streak of dark dusty green thyme that peps it all up.

For my birthday I sprung for a set of imp's ears from the Salon: Exhibit Two collection and I'm glad I did. While I had my highest hopes pinned on The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil (Bourbon vanilla, benzoin, caramel, Mysore sandalwood, aged black patchouli, carnation, and iris florentina), it's this one, Cupid Complaining to Venus, that ended up being a winner. This is just beautiful--fruit (fig?) with a perfumey honey. Whenever I wear it I can't stop smelling my wrist. I definitely plan on buying a bottle.

I loved the description. I hated that it was a Salon blend and more expensive. I got an imp and loved the apple-y but subtle-floral scent. I finally broke down and bought a bottle...it is lovely stuff. It's a very soft apple/floral, maybe a touch of...grain?? It's simple, but not in a single-note boring way.
Modest throw, wonderful longevity.
A good intro to the whole Salon scent thing...it exudes "worth the extra money".

This is from the Salon collection which is a bit more expensive than their other catalog scents. The apple, peach, honey absolute, fig, red sandlewood, and wild thyme form an oil that's more subtle and quiet than the tacky fruity florals that crowd Sephora. And it all blends beautfifully. This is definitely a succesful blend.
