I can honestly say this is the most gorgeous eyeshadow palette in my possession! I was afraid to use it at first, but my need to purge anything I can't use won. So I swatched the colors and actually use it now! I find the gold color to be very warm, while the silvery white is very cool. The black is not really black though, it's more of a dark gunmetal grey color. The overspray is quite thin and was gone after I swatched the colors.
This came in a box that has the eyeshadow colors on the sides, in a velvet pouch with a retractable sponge tip applicator and a little booklet with instructions on how to use this with placement and colors on your eyes. It's pretty cute actually.
But the biggest wow factor I think is that the detail on the eyeshadows is just amazing! It's supposed to be sequins and they even put so much detail in it as to make threads going through the sequins. This is just an amazing palette. It was really expensive but it is way bigger and has more product than Chanel Eyeshadow Quads. It's a whopping 15g! Doesn't seem like much, but if you compare this to other Chanel products, you know this is a lot ;) Here are a few pictures of this item in indoors light without flash.

From some articles that I had read online, the Lumieres d' Artifices compact was inspired by the sequins that are featured on many of the fashion label and consists of 3 metallic shades: cool silver, deep anthracite and warm bronze. All three shades are sparked with iridescence and can be worn individually or blended together on the eyes or face.
Chanel blew me away totally with their spring collection! I couldn't stop thinking about this after I saw pictures on the board in Dec last year (this came out later in Jan in Singapore). I was totally in love with the detailed sequined design (very detailed and excellent craftmanship) and I had not seen such pretty makeups in a long time! I rushed down to the counter when it was launched here, but I went back and forth before finally deciding to buy it, as it is quite pricey at SG$81 (about US$54, though it was cheaper than what it was sold for in US).
If I were to describe the 3 shades myself, I would describe them as silverish white, gunmetal grey and golden bronze. All of them are very sparkly. I was glad and had not regretted purchasing this. It was sold out quickly a few weeks later. Even though I had used this only once, as I cannot bear to ruin this pretty little thing, it feels really great to own it - the feeling is almost indescribable.

Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship on the sequin detailing - It's so pretty I was hesitant to actually use it and ruin the design! The colors are gorgeous together, especially the contrast of the gold on the upper lid and grey on the crease with white as a highlighter. Super glittery at first - which concerned me because I have a problem with the glitter of my sparkling quad going into my sensitive eyes (contact lens wearer), but below the top layer of extreme glitter, the shadow underneath is slightly shimmery with no glitter. Expensive yes! but there is a lot of product, and if you can nab it at duty free in Europe it's only 39 Euros vs 75 USD at US duty free stores. Very hard to find in stock, so grab it if you can! I loved it so much I bought one for my mom!

This is the most beautifuly packaged product i have ever seen ... its an amazing trio that looks like woven sequins ... it has been laser cut so it has the thread detail and all .... absolutely love it!
Unfortunately it is too glittery ... the colours look stunning but when i try and apply them on my eyes, the glitter falls off everywhere and my face looks like a glitter bomb!
But i am not going to give up - its the kind of item i am happy to have ... i might try it wet - perhaps thats the key to the glitter not migrating to my cheeks, nose, forehead?
Anyway, its going to sell out in a second, and for $AUD90 i'm ok with it.
