My dry, damaged, thick, and coarse hair loves this stuff!! The best way to describe this product is that its a sort of leave in conditioner type. Basically you wash your hair and apply this afterwards. This gets my hair super soft and manageable and let me tell you that is quite a feat for me! When DHC had this on sale (which they tend to do sometimes with certain products) I usually buy a good amount so I can stock up and never be without these babies! I will add though that I use this in conjunction with One n' Only Argan Oil and my hair is in sooo much better condition than its ever been!

My hair: 4 inches below my shoulders, fine but I have a ton of strands, wavy naturally, dry/frizzy and badly in need of a trim.
My sitch: unemployed, so either have to trim my hair on my own or let it grow unchecked until I have the $ to spend on a good cut.
DHC ABTE--my take: can't live without it when I just want to let my hair dry naturally. serves as a detangler, leave-in, frizz control, and curl constructor (because it's so light in texture my waves tend to spiral into loose curls) all with two to three pumps. Nice slip with minimal weight and SOFTNESS TO DIE FOR. since i prefer to spare my lock heat when possible, you can see why i like this multi-purpose, relatively cheap at $14 US(compared to it's a 10 which I believe is somewhere in the twenty dollar range) gem. I also use DHCs deep cleansing oil regularly so the shipping (economy) cost is split between them for a grand total of about $16. Plus, I love the loyalty discounts, points program, ect.

Used up my 6 mL sample in 4 (?) uses with my middle-of-back length hair. Smells nice, introduced me to the concept of conditioning after showering (like lotion for your hair!). I'm not careful enough to apply this without globbing it on too heavily in certain places but I guess if I were to distribute it evenly in two hands first instead of just using one hand, it would be fine. (Hey, I'm lazy.) Would not buy just because I feel certain there should be something cheaper from the drugstore that fulfills the same function. I'm not picky about my hair though. Would happily use up a free sample if they sent it again. I don't dislike the product, I just don't see any reason to pay for it.

Wow - this is an incredible product. I've tried many hair treatments, serums, leave ins (Loma Pearatin Fortifying Repair Serum, Kevin Murphy Young Again, pure argan oil, Paul Brown Diamond Head) - all are very good but wow, this DHC product really impressed me. I used it today on my towel dried hair. I used two pumps (had just primed the product) - wow, I loved the way my hair looked and felt as I dried and styled it. I have fine, thinning, color treated hair and I just got back from a week of sun and swimming pools in the dry Palm Springs desert - my hair took a beating and my freshly done color now looked flat. After using the hair treatment my hair felt silky and soft and stayed manageable all day and it looked glossy and really perked up the color. I just had a bath and put another pump into my dry hair has a treatment - I can't get over how soft my hair feels! Better than it's felt in years. No greasies, no weight, no crunchy ends, no rough patches, no stubborn frizzies - just silky, healthy feeling hair. I love this product!

I am kicking, kicking, kicking myself for not repurchasing this when it was recently on sale. I've tried a lot of leave-in type conditioners and silicone serums to combat frizz, etc. and this is the best. I have fine color-treated hair and this doesn't make it look greasy or weigh it down. I tried the oil formula and that was a bit too heavy. The emulsion smells great, a light sage-y scent that doesn't linger. Comes in a cute, if somewhat suggestively shaped, pump bottle and one pump is enough for my just-to-the-shoulders hair. You can use it on damp or dry hair. The bottle is a bit large/oddly shaped for travel, so I squirt whatever I need into another container. But the pump is well-designed (as are the other pump bottles from DHC), so that when you get to the end there isn't much left on the very bottom. Price, like most DHC, is a bit on the expensive side, I think £10.50 for the bottle, but it does go on sale. But this is good enough that I may just have to break down and repurchase at full price. I had some Body Shop grape serum (which also smells delicious) that I needed to use up, but the DHC emulsion is soooo much better.

I love this stuff. My hair is very fine and color treated with no life of its own. The DHC Emulsion makes my hair feels sooo soft and look amazing. It does not weigh my hair down at all and it styles like a dream. I am a big fan of the "It' s a 10" spray and I never thought I would find anything better (trust me, It's a 10 is awesome) but this stuff IS bit better, which is amazing considering how great "10" is.

I like this a lot. I have long, fine, blonde hair -- color treated -- that tends to get dry on the ends and stringy looking during the day. When I use this emulsion, my hair is soft and moist without any hint of oiliness or being weighed down, and it doesn't get stringy. I used to have to wash my hair every day only because of the stringy look, but now I can skip a day and my hair will look great. (Sometimes I may have to use a little dry shampoo at the roots.)

I ordered samples of this before I bought it. When you place an order you can choose 4 samples -- I recommend getting 2 or 3 of the same thing so you can really be sure if you like it before you buy.

Edit: I've compared this with the After Bath Hair Oil. The emulsion seems to work better if you want a fluffier look, and the oil works better if you want a smoother look.

This product kicked my beloved Phyto leave-in out to the curb, not only price-wise but also quality-wise. This one simply feels more moisturizing to my hair than the Phyto, without being oily at all. My hair is very, very fine, plus it's thinning (yes, yikes), so I can't wear anything heavy. This fits the bill perfectly because it absrbs very nicely, it doesn't feel heavy a all. I'm going to be trying the DHC hair oil next, just because my hair needs a lot of moisture. Take a look at that one, it's got 100% rating. If it doesn't work, I'll definitely stick with this one!

This is a good, lightweight leave-in cream conditioner. I have thick, wavy hair, and it helps with frizz and styling. Might not be enough, though, for very coarse, curly hair. has a nice subtle scent and the small bottle is easy to store.

I tried the sample, LOVED it so much that I had to buy the bottle. This stuff leaves my hair feeling amazingly soft and styling it is super easy on days when I don't feel like dragging out the products. It never leaves my hair greasy or weighed down, just amazingly soft and shiny hair. It has a bit of a lavender scent, which is nice. Even the next day my hair feels wonderful - not greasy or product-y at all. I didn't know that DHC made hair products until I got this in the mail one day. It's just one more item from their fantastic selection that I am hooked on! They have another version for ethnic hair as well but it's an oil base. If the emulsion is this good, I can imagine that the other is just as good. I love that they took into account hair types of all sorts, not just one like most products do.

First of all, I would have put this product under conditioners. It really is a leave-in conditioner from what I can tell.
This really, really works for my hair. My Long, medium/thick, wavy, highlight on top of dyed hair.
Like most, I tried a sample that came with the catalog. (SMART marketing that has been deep-sixed, sadly). After a few uses of the sample I really wanted to write a raving review, but I vowed to stick to my guns, order the full-size, use it for a while and then write my review.
Side Bar: I cannot stand reviews that have tried it once or HORRORS, say how they'd LIKE to try it...
anywho...
These days with my heavily high-lighted (high-lit?) hair I am shampooing with Clairol Shimmer lights every day. It just really makes my hair so glowy, snowy. But it seems so silly to use a rinse-out conditioner, as it will take away a lot of the purple-ness. So I'm always on the quest for a great leave-in.
Well this "emulsion" from DHC has exceeded my expectations. A few squirts into my palms and rubbed into wet hair give me that Just Stepped Out of the Salon Look every time I use it. Even after the honeymoon phase.
I truly feel that my color looks better. Not sure why, maybe the smoothness? I let it air-dry into my beachy loose waves or blow it straight to oblivian and I can't keep my hands off of it.
The scent? it's fine. Herb-y.
The design of the bottle? Ummmm. Well those monkees at DHC....they just keep trying new things...
let me say that the bottle looks like a small, pink breast with a weird nipple. Sorry.
Unless it stops working and I'll let you know if it does, it's my daily routine. I don't even think I'll need any weekly deep-condo.

I haven't actually bought this product but have ordered several samples and I think I'm gonna spring for a bottle the next time I do a DHC order. I use it when my colored hair is feeling dry, i.e. after a day at the beach or some other extended time in the sun. You just use about a quarter-size or less (I have a chin-length bob) and mostly concentrate on the ends. It smells good, and afterwards my hair feels stronger, thicker and fluffier....that thing where you're feeling your own hair all day....I think it costs about $14 and since it's not something you'd need to use daily, would probably last about forever.

I have really liked this. You don't need much, I use maybe a pea sized amount on my hair - it's to the middle of my back. I just rub it between my palms and then run my hands through my hair. I usually just let my hair air dry, except for the bangs, and it leaves my wavy hair tamed, shiny, with minimal to no frizz, and very soft. It doesn't weight down my hair or leave it frizzy.

I really like this stuff. It makes my hair smooth and silky and doesn't weigh it down or leave it greasy either. It helps tame my split ends so I can go a little longer between haircuts. My hair is medium-length and fine, so I use a very small amount and get good results. I only need to use this every third day or so. More often would be too much for my fine hair. I definitely recommend.

I was curious to try this after all the great reviews. After I used this, I was disappointed to find my hair to be a bit on the dull side vs it's usual shiny silky self. Ironically, my hair after shampoo and conditioner (without this product) looks more shiny and silky; this product negates any benefits of my good quality shampoos and conditioners! I am appreciating my Kerastase Chroma Protect Leave In (this leave in makes my hair super shiny, silky and de-tangeled) more than ever.

I have fine (but lots of it), long (few inches past the shoulder) black (Korean), stick-straight, silky hair. Slightly oily scalp with dry ends. I normally use: Kerastase, Joico (K-Pak Reconstructor), Redken All Soft Conditioner, etc.

I have fine, dry hair and have been looking for something that will not weigh my hair down or make it look greasy like most silicone based products do. This is a lightweight lotion with a lavender-sandalwood scent that dissipates quickly. I apply this to my damp hair after shampooing and then blow dry. It leaves my hair with little frizz, a hint of shine and does not make my hair look greasy! This does have one silicone ingredient in it but it is not too much that it weighs my hair down. It actually makes my dry hair look normal. If you need lots of silicones to make your hair do something, then this is not the product for you; try the DHC after bath hair oil instead. I like the pink pump container it comes in also :)

I received a sample of this for a one time use. I didn't expect anything extroidinary or even a smidge above average. I was blown away and promptly ordered a bottle the next day. I have limp loose curls and no matter what I use or how much I spend, my hair looks good for about two hours and then forget about it. Well this is by far the best product I have EVER used. My curls have come back to life, my hair is shiney, and the best part -- it lasts all day. I feel like I've hit the jackpot with this one! I will be ordering this again and again and again...

Love this. I would compare this to BioSilk or CHI products. I have a head full of fine, straight hair and this give shine and control without weighing down. I will repurchase. I love the scent which does fade rather quickly. The packaging is quite functional but DHC's products have some crazy, over the top containers. But, this container will never break or leak which is awesome.

I purchased the full-sized bottle and I returned it promptly this morning. I have wavy, baby fine and very long hair that tends to easily snap & get split ends. I only used 2 pumps of this stuff and my hair felt dryer and it actually tangled easier than usual! Also, my hubbie commented that my hair looked dull, not shiny as my hair usually does, when I used this. I guess it's just not for my hair type.

The minty scent of this treatment is very faint, you won't be able to smell it at all in a few minutes. I prefer products with a bit more scent in them.

I exchanged this for the After Bath Hair Treatment Oil and I like the Oil MUCH better than this Emulsion treatment. Just for reference, the hair treatments that work well on my hair are Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum, Redken's Extreme Anti-Snap treatment and Sunsilk's 24-7 De-Frizz creme.
