I guess if your publicity stunt is trying to look like you didn't apply any makeup (and not in a good way) this would be your mascara. I bought the brown, hoping for a more natural day-to-day look. But when I put it on, it doesn't look like I put any mascara on at all -- it doesn't add anything to my natural lashes. The brush is skimpy and doesn't grab my lashes; I end up using the end to apply this stuff lash by lash. And even then, it doesn't look like I've put anything on. Yet I have these weird tubes that I can pull off my lashes at the end of the day -- it's strange that I've got these tubes of mascara on my lashes, yet it doesn't look like I've put on mascara and I get none of the benefits of mascara. Why bother?
I also can't figure out the point of the comb. It's not like this stuff is clumpy in the least -- it barely goes on your lashes. Actually, a clumpy mascara would be better than this one -- those I have to apply lash-by-lash with the end of the brush, too, and at least then my lashes are better defined and look longer. This mascara doesn't help lengthen your lashes, so brushing it out doesn't help; the comb is a waste, and frankly misleading.
I did better with Maybelline Great Lash in brown, and that's not a great mascara but at least it cost a fraction of what this one did.

What a find: a tubing mascara at a reasonable price that isn't black. I bought this on a whim from LORAC's web site. It creates non-spidery lashes and washes off with water, although the product claims to last up to three days if you let it. I don't see how you could, unless you wore the mascara with a bare face, because really, you should be removing your makeup every night without fail. And when you wash your face, you can remove the tubes like any tubing mascara.
The package comes with an oddly-shaped brush on one end and a comb, which I do not use, on the other. You really don't need the comb, because the product does not clump. And I don't see the point of the brush shape: It claims to curl the lashes better, but I don't see a difference. Still a great mascara. I wish Carol would come out with this one in auburn or eggplant. Then I will have a new HG mascara.

THE WORSE MASCARA EVER!!! How can anyone put up with wiping little black threads from all over the eyes at the end of the day? It feels horrible and looks disgusting!
Plus it is not dramatic - so what is the point? Of course, I only use mascara for nighttime so I don't need the barely there subtle look but even if I were striving for that, blacks threads all over your eyes is not healthy and is gross-looking. I never throw anything out - make the best even out of so-so products but tossed this in the trash last night

I'm torn on this mascara. I cannot stand washing it out because it takes forever to get all the little particles off my face. It makes my lashes very black, and gives it a medium amount of volume. The brush on the end is quite stupid. I don't get what it's for, seems more like a toy for a little girl playing with make-up. I don't know if i would buy this product again. I like lash blast better :)

I don't get all the bad reviews, I really like this product! This is one of my favorite mascaras. Before using this one, I used Kiss Me, which was great except the little tubes ended up on my cheeks. I haven't had any trouble with this one flaking off. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently than everyone else... It does not add magically lengthened lashes, but for me that's ok. If you're looking for length, this is not the one for you.
My only complaint is the little comb on the opposite end, which I find completely useless. Also, you REALLY have to make sure you don't have a large clump on the brush when applying. Other than that, I can count on this to stay put all day for me.
Update: It's been a long time since I wrote this review, and I still stand by it. It's my holy grail mascara! I still don't bother with the little brush though.

You should gather from the reviews here that this mascara will surprise and probably disappoint anyone looking for a standard-issue thickening mascara.
It does indeed turn out "dry" on your eyelashes. If you rub your eyes after applying, you won't get a black smear on your face. Instead, you will get lots of long, thin, thread-like pieces of dried mascara.
This lengthens and lasts forever, but it does not create a dramatic, thickening look. I find it a great, subtle, long-lasting, daytime mascara. I can apply it for a whole day at work without worrying about under-eye grease slicks or repeated trips to to the bathroom to refresh my makeup. It's not what I wear for a night out.
The packaging comes with a little eyelash brush. This is convenient, I guess, but it's not a great brush and I'd rather use my own and pay less for the mascara.

I also couldn't believe the negative reviews. THIS IS MY FAVORITE MASCARA!! It does not create dramatic lashes (I use Badgal Blue or Kiss Me for more drama at night). I have major problems with even waterproof mascaras smearing. This one never has. I curl my lashes first, then use two coats and then the comb to separate the lashes. It makes me look like I was genetically gifted and born with long, curled, dark lashes. It is mot the 'makeupy, high-drama' effect. I will definitely keep buying Lorac's Publicity Stunt.

I really don't know what these other reviewers are talking about... Are we using the same product?? Did LORAC change the formula or something recently? Because this stuff is AWESOME!
I've tried MUFE, Bad Gal, every drugstore mascara there is, and most recently the new BE BUXOM Lash, and still this one is the only one I use. It's great for everyday, the office and running around town. It has NEVER flaked or smudged on me - rain, wind or shine. It is a dry formula so it doesn't clump your lashed at all, it separates and fans them out. The only thing is that you have to work fast before the formula dries (especially if you want to use the lash comb that comes attached). I wore it for my wedding, and loved it. IT STAYED IN PLACE THE ENTIRE DAY and my lashes did not budge.
The other reviews said that it doesn't give you dramatic length or volume... and they are right - it doesn't give you DRAMATIC length or volume. I would think of this as more of a CURLING and SEPARATING mascara than anything else.
Also, the reason the brush is shaped the way it is - it's for the curling effect.
Bottom line: If you're looking for fake looking volume and length don't buy this, you won't like it. However, if you want a more natural look, something you can wear to the office without looking like a drag queen, something you don't have to retouch and can feel secure with, you'll love the Publicity Stunt Lashes.

there's not many good things i can say about this mascara. it was ridiculously expensive ($19) for what little it did. it made my eyelashes feel dry and it was irritating to know you have to wait 3 days to wash it off. i can say that it does have incredible staying power and it gives your lashes a little length, but nothing exciting. i'm not going to return it because i've already thrown the box and reciept away, but i will never buy this again. i'll stick with my MAC plush lash

This formula doesn't cover any of your lashes... I've never tried anything like it because it really didn't thicken or lengthen. The formula and brush doesn't do anything. Please save your money and just buy a really good drugstor mascara.... seriously, this is the truth.

The new Publicity Stunt mascara mystifies me. What is it supposed to do exactly? It clumps, leaves weird fibrous pieces on my cheeks and between lashes, and is impossible to remove. I followed the instructions, but no luck. I use Clinique Lash Power mascara and it rolls right off like this is supposed to. It made me want to cry, since I lost a few lashes the first application- sadly, the tears didn't help remove it either. The comb attached is useless too. Hope I can return this!

They say it stays for 3 days. I say it stays for 3 days...if you don't take a shower or have to change your contact lenses. I did like that the formula didn't irritate my eyes and it didn't take forever to dry. However, once dry I was really unimpressed with the volume and length. It just looked like my regular lame lashes, only darker. It stayed on through my workout but came off when I rubbed my eyes in the shower (I know; I'm dumb). Regardless of how easily or not it came off, I still wouldn't buy it again because it didn't give me the volume or length I need.

I HATED this product! I can usually find something good about an item but this one is the exception. It was expensive and I couldn't even get through the day in it. The formula goes on and feels sticky, then it promptly flakes all over your cheeks, it was difficult to remove and came off in little shards that were in my eye and bothering my contacts all the rest of the day. Not worth a cent in my book.
If I could give in 0 lippies I would!

thank god this was free. this was a terrible mascara and i couldn't figure out the brush either. one of my co-workers said there's a certain way to use it but really, most mascaras will not hold a curl for me and i am extremely picky about it. would never repurchase nor even pick it up again, i think i threw it out after trying it only once.

Best mascara EVER! All these other reviews are horrible lies!
I have very oily skin, I am seeing a derm and taking medication to curb the oiliness, but still very oily. Not one single mascara has ever truely been smudge/waterproof on me except CoverGirl Marathon. If you've tried it, it's a great less than $5 solution. However, when I actually sprung for the $19 Lorac at Sephora my opinions changed quickly!! This mascara stays forever! It does not smudge, flake, run, or go anywhere but where you put it in the morning and will stay from 6am to 1am, yes both am. I went out after work on a Friday night and got home near 2am and the mascara was there perfect as ever!
PROS:
-Washes off. When you want it off, follow the package directions and it comes right off, no rubbing. Warm soapy wash cloth, wipe down a few times and the mascara comes right off. (None of that super glue feel of CG that never comes off at night and crusts on in the morning.)
-Looks Natural. This doesn't tout anything extra than staying power. It's not going to lengthen/thicken/make you win the lottery/get a boyfriend. It looks natural. It makes your lashes look like you were born with naturally black (or brown if you want) lashes. That's perfect for a conservative office daytime look (especially if you are around stuffy lawyer types)
-NO RACCOON EYES! Not a single one. Not after hard sweaty exercise, not after a hard night of partying, not after sitting in the office, or in the sun... not even after sleeping in your makeup because you were too tipsy to wash your face the night before! AMAZING.
CONS:
-Brush shape. It's been mentioned. Hourglass brush? What were they thinking?? I did read somewhere that is to maximize getting product out of the tube and minimize waste... that's a pro when you pay $19.
-No bonus texturing... doesn't lengthen/thicken/summon the boyfriend gods. Just looks natural, which is fine when your lashes start transparent!
Try this. Go get it at Sephora so you can return it if you don't like it. Honestly, my mom has switched from CG Marathon to this too. We're so amazed that this actually washes off and doesn't feel like you put super glue on your eyes. I can't speak enough about this product. It's worth it's weight in gold ten times over. I love it and hope it's made forever!

I always forget to write reviews when I hate a product. I tried this last summer and finally got around to just tossing it out.
[p]
CONS: It does absolutely nothing but smear. The brush can't grab lashes, upper or lower. It's watery and almost drips. I tried using other lash combs, but it's so wet, my lashes end up uncurled, pointing straight down. And why package with a totally useless comb that's straight out of the 70's? It's so bad, nothing could make me try any Lorac mascara again ... but I love their oil-free foundation.
[p]
PROS: I appreciate my other tube-forming mascaras SO much more ... Too Faced Lash Injection for drama and Mirenesse Curling Mascara for definition.

I bought this, and was really unhappy with the way it looked when I combed out my lashes (while still wet) with the included lash comb. So I went back and bought a really fine metal lash comb, and now this is my favorite mascara. It's perfect for daytime wear, because it emphasizes the lashes without looking fake, and I like my lashes to look natural during the day. You always have to make sure to comb out the lashes immediately, while the product is still wet, or they get glued together. This stuff is strong; it doesn't come off accidentally and it never smudges. It holds a curl very well.
My application goes like this: Apply 1st coat to top lashes of one eye, then comb out quick like a bunny. Apply 2nd coat to top lashes of that eye, then comb out super fast. Then one coat on the bottom lashes on that eye and comb out. Then repeat on other eye. Lots of combing.

I liked the thin, defined bristles on the brush, but I didn't like how the brush was curved inward and had an awkward shape. It did define my lashes and didn't clump, but there wasn't a dramatic effect. There wasn't much length or volume added, and after a couple of coats, my lashes felt more stiff and heavy. It was long-lasting, but I don't know if the formula is actually that lightweight since my lashes felt quite brittle. The volcanic ash listed as an ingredient is kind of disturbing since volcanic ash can cause various cancers when inhaled....but according to Sephora, the volcanic ash is mixed with cellulose and is the active ingredient in the mascara that lengthens lashes and increases wear. Supposedly this mascara will last three days, but it's NEVER a good idea to sleep with mascara on, and I doubt it's healthy to have volcanic ash on your lashes for three days straight.
List of ingredients:
Water (Aqua Purificata) Purified, Polyester-3, PPG-17/IPDI/DMPA Copolymer, Brassica Camprestis/Aleurites Fordi Copolymer, Cellulose, Shellac, Black 2 (CI 27755), Lanolin Oil, Volcanic Ash, Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, C12-13 Pareth-23, C12-13 Pareth-3, Acrylates/Acrylamide Copolymer, Polysorbate 85, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Isostearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Mineral Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone. May Contain: Polymethyl Methacrylate, Red Iron Oxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane.
Overall, the mascara works, but I'd recommend looking into other mascaras with better wands and conditioning elements in the formula, especially for its price.

Oh gosh, this mascara is terrible! I purchased it at Ulta last week and was really excited about trying it. However, it made my eyelashes look absolutely awful! I have ten other drugstore brands that work better than this $20 mascara. It made my eyelashes clump together and look super thin. I was not impressed... Will be returning this product for sure! :(
