I love the scent of vanilla, but some perfumes just take it too far. I don't like smelling like a car freshener or like a cookie. That's where Lavanilla comes in. All of their scents are natural, clean, and very intimate. I love the vanilla grapefruit. It is my favorite Lavanilla scent. it is sweet with just the right amount of citrus. It smells very clean rather than a foody scent. It's all natural so I don't have to worry about allergic reactions. It's a little pricey, but IMHO it's totally worth it.

Some people have commented that it makes me smell like cookies, the vanilla is the dominant scent at the end of the day.
-Great for Winter
-Smells stays longest when sprayed on skin & CLOTHES
-Affordable&Addicting
-I'm out of the country, ran out, can't get more, and am dying to have this delicious scent when I return home.

I recommend it for anyone who wants to smell adorable.

What a unique scent! It literally is vanilla mixed with grapefruit, so it's both sweet and tart. I liked it instantly the moment my cousin bought me a rollerball version of the EDP. It's quite a strong perfume at first so you only need a little bit of it at a time, but the staying power only seems to be about average (6 hrs, maybe). I'd describe this as a fairly warm scent, mainly because of the vanilla. It can sometime be overwhelming on a humid or sticky day, so I tend to wear this on cool, breezy days or during winters when I need a pick-me-up.

I LOVE Vanilla Grapefruit! :-D Got it as a Christmas gift after loving it in Urban Outfitters months before. I do have to say it is strong the first 10 or so minutes of wearing it, but nothing bad. Just a LOT of grapefruit. But if you stick it out, it fades into the vanilla, and the longer you wear it, the vanilla becomes the prominent note. The vanilla isn't too sweet at all...in fact, it smells like you rubbed vanilla extract on you! Very real and not at all fake, which I love. The best part is, after reapplying it once yesterday, I thought the smell was gone-turned out that my nose had just stopped smelling it. When I woke up in the middle of the night, it was on me and filled the air pocket under my covers! I've never enjoyed breaking my sleep cycle so much! Pure vanilla goodness! Though you might have to put more on, it does last a while..about 14 hours for me,yesterday. And I hade no rollerball problems, the parfum came out easily. Get the rollerball if you're unsure, like I did, and go from there. The fragrance and healthy ingredients definitely make it a great way to spend $19!

Yummmmm :)

I love this perfume, along with all the other Lavanila fragrances. I have them all in the rollerball kind. When I first smelt the vanilla grapefruit, I wasn't in love with it, but I tried it on my wrist at sephora anyways and after a while I went to smell my wrist again and it had this new beautiful fragrance to it! A very nice vanilla/fruity scent that was hidden when I first smelt it out of the bottle and fresh on my skin. I knew I had to have it!

Price isn't to bad, and it's lasted me a while as I only wear it maybe 3 times a week.

I give it only 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons:
- I'm not a huge fan of the smell it starts out as for the first 10 minutes that you wear it. It's not a bad smell, it's just not for me. and during this 10 minutes it's also way to strong. One time when my friend was picking me up, I had applied it just to my wrists a minute before getting in his car, and he noticed it right away and didn't like how strongly it smelt. But after a while the smell and strongest fades away and leaves a really pretty subtle scent.
- Packaging isn't awesome. It's just your average looking rollerball perfume, but I noticed about a month after I bought it the perfume started to come out faster then before, so now I have to be careful when I apply it to make sure it doesn't leak to much.

Will be buying again :)

I got this at Sephora the other day because they were offering atomizers filled with any perfume for $10. I quite literally smelled every perfume in the store, and this was the only one I fell in love with.

I don't wear perfumes very often (and therefore don't know anything at all about the different layers and notes); I mostly don't wear perfume because I feel most are too astringent-y smelling and harsh, and they don't smell natural. However, vanilla grapefruit was not like that at all. It smells warm and all the notes blend well together. The vanilla isn't overpowering at all (which I sometimes find in other vanilla-scented things, like it smells *too* vanilla-y and too sicky-sweet). This is just perfect, and the cedarwood is subtle and is the perfect touch (honestly one of my favorite scents).

The staying power is also good. I spritz some on at the beginning of the workday and find that by the time I get home for the night, I'm still smelling good.

When I run out of the atomizer, I will definitely purchase the full bottle.

I lovelovelove this smell. It is the best blend of sweet/citrus. The only reason that I would not repurchase, and also the reason that it got three stars, it because it does not have lasting power. I cannot smell this at the end of the day, and I put A LOT on in the morning. I know this is probably because it is natural, but I just need something that I don't have to carry around in my purse to refresh. :(

I absolutely love this scent, and so does everyone else who catches a wiff of it. it is kind of a sweet, crisp, citrusy and spicy sent all rolled up into one. the vanilla lends the sweetness, the grafruit a clean citrus smell, and the cedarwood a musky warm smell. i find it wears well. i can still smell it on my skin at the end of the day easily. i have this and the coconut versions. yumm

Ohhh wow.. this stuff is amazing...
When I first tried this on the grapefruit was overpowering and really wasnt sure if I was going to like it.. so i kept walking around Sephora and after it settled I went back to smell my wrist.. holy moly.. what a delish smell.. with my chemistry my body naturally put the vanilla as the front line smell and then you get the outline of a citrus.. completly unexpected.
I had to buy it.. I also tried on the vanilla passion fruit but that did not last long on me.. it did smell great.. but the wear on my skin wasnt very long.. I guess this was just the one meant for me.

So far.. everyone I have come in contact has told me how delish i smell and that its not too powerful but enough to grab attention ... YAY!

I enjoy grapefruity scents, and it sounded so delicious having grapefruit and vanilla blended together. However, I just don't care for this scent -- it kind of reminds me of VS Pink which I feel is a bit cloying anyways, and it has that slight greeness that this scent seems to have. I really don't detect any vanilla in this fragrance, but it might just be because the grapefruit is more overpowering on my skin. I am giving this three lippies though because the scent is at least wearable and does have good lasting power.

Smells lovely but ZERO staying power. It doesn't have a harsh tart bitter pink grapefruit smell to it. Very nice and light, I would buy it again if it lasted longer.

Love the smell of this fresh scent. Both sweet and fruity zest. The rollerball bottle is handy for keeping in my purse as its perfect travel size. I bought this from Sephora, and it has been one of my favorite perfumes for the last few yrs now. Its not sold in dept. stores, I have only seen it in Sephora in Canada, so its not too popular yet. Thank goodness. I hate wearing the same scent as everyone else and their dog - like Ralph or CK.

I've had this scent in my collection for a couple of years and eventually, I always come back to it. This is essentially two different perfumes wrapped into one sleek little package. Of course, I realize that scents are constructed of base notes, mid-notes, and top notes, and transform throughout wear, however, this fragrance really changes from a citrusy, fruity-yet-warm composition, into a smoky, creamy vanilla, with no in-between moments of transformation.

The first half-hour or so on my skin is when this scent is most beautiful, most addictive, and most unique. The lime is very present here, and mixed with a splash of grapefruit and laid out on a warm base of vanilla and cedarwood, it's like nothing I've ever smelled before. Even, expertly-blended, intoxicating. As it dries down, it really loses the citrusy feel and becomes very creamy, with a touch of smokiness. Think birthday-cake-candle smoke, not the campfire smoke of say, Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille. If you've tried other scents in the LaVanila line, you'll find the drydown quite similar to the drydown of their Pure Vanilla scent - once the patchouli has worn off.

Overall, this remains an HG fragrance, though I wear it mostly for the first half hour of its sillage. The dry-down is still lovely, though far less original than the opening, still - definitely not unpleasant. I seemed to get far more compliments while wearing Pure Vanilla (mostly from men), and I think that's because it's a big stronger and more bourban than Vanilla Grapefruit, which smells less like the actual vanilla extract that goes into a cake and more like the finished product.

Everyone will react differently to Vanilla Grapefruit and I recommend spraying it on the skin and allowing it to go from citrusy to sweet before making a purchase. Gourmand lovers may find the drydown most appealing, but those who prefer light, citrusy scents may be disappointed with what remains after the first moments of wear.

I don't love this. I bought it for my purse. It has a nice drydown, but the opening notes are so bright and almost .....green?! I usually love citrus fragrances, but there's something quite masculine in the opening which I'm finding in a lot of fragrances these days. It fades eventually into a round comforting vanilla, but it takes about 30-40 minutes.

It's a favorite of mine in the Spring and Summer. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this one, it smells incredible. It's not the most complex of the brand, but it's good. Once the citrus wears down you get a real vanilla scent, and ALL of this line has a real vanilla scent. Nothing is fake or chemical smelling. While I haven't bought full bottles, the rollerballs give you a good amount of perfume.

The Lavanila's can be simplified like this-

Grapefruit is the fresh every day vanilla, but the base is only vanilla once the citrus wears down. Grapefruit, sandalwood, lime, and vanilla.

Pure Vanilla is the sensual fragrance, and it's completely smooth and everything included besides the vanilla, like tonka bean, compliments the vanillas.

Vanilla Blossom.. discontinued? But it was a fresh spring floral vanilla, and reminded me of lime and vanilla- like an iced drink.

Vanilla Coconut- slightly sweet coconut and vanilla. Exotic in a beachy way. With coconut, tiare flower, and vanilla.

Lavender Vanilla- Not as complex as the grapefruit or pure vanillas. It's clean, comforting, and relaxed. With Spanish lavender, rose absolute, violet leaf, and Madagascar vanilla.

I found this to be an EXCELLENT perfume to layer with others. On it's own it's pretty, but it really layers well with Fantasy, BBW Fresh Vanilla Sugar, Live Luxe and others. The combo of Van/grapefruit and Fantasy always gets compliments. So for this reason, I would always keep a rollerball on hand when I want to oomph up one of my other fragrances.

I've been using this as a sample from Sephora. I've tried many times in the store by spraying on those paper sampler sticks, but didn't like that initial burst of slightly bitter grapefruit. But when I tried at home by spraying on my wrists, I loved it. After a few short minutes, I found that the bitter grapefruit scent dried down and what was left was a soft, creamy, vanilla. I want to try out the Pure Vanilla and Vanilla Coconut, but I think I just may buy a full-sized bottle of Vanilla Grapefruit.
UPDATE: Benefit's So Hooked on Carmella just came out, and I like it quite a bit better. The grapefruit-citrus notes in So Hooked are a lot softer than in LaVanila. So, it's making be take off a couple of lippies because I was starting to get annoyed with the sharpness of the grapefruit note.

I own the large bottle of this and while I do not normally like the smell of grapefruit, this one dries down to a soft sweet vanilla with just a little hint of grapefruit. The staying power is really good as well.
