My hair has never felt better - so silky, soft, and shiny. And the color really looks very nice with this shampoo. Unfortunately, it makes my scalp itch. If I can't find anything else I may end up going back to WEN.

I originally liked this shampoo but then realized it was causing my hair to become quite dry and frizzy. It did bring out subtle highlights in my darkish medium brown hair but it wasn't obvious enough for me to justify the dryness. Right before I stopped using it my hair's texture looked pretty terrible so I won't buy it again.

I've only been using it for two weeks, but I love this stuff. I have dark brown hair that has a great deal of natural red highlights. At first, I didn't see much of a difference. But after using it 2-3 times in a row, I saw that it really did bring out the red and lighten my hair just a little! Some people have commented on it being drying -- I haven't noticed that yet. Typically, the thicker, more opaque shampoos are moisturizing. Still, even if it is drying, that's okay for me because my hair is super-oily at the roots. (And a good conditioner will certainly help protect my ends from splitting.) All-in-all, I really love this and am glad I came across it at our local organic market. EDIT: I have been using this every time I shampoo (except for once a week when I clarify) and have noticed more split ends than usual. I'm wondering if this is drying out my hair, though I recently switched conditioners as well, so perhaps the conditioner is not emollient enough.

I really like this product and feel it does what it says it will. Having grown up in college towns, I understand the distinctions of the different henna products out there. I think this shampoo is about bringing a bit of subtle, natural shine and bit more pep to already existent red/auburn highlights that have been dulled by seasonal/environmental stresses, which it does nicely for me. It's not going to have a dramatic effect like henna dye, which I actually think is a good thing because henna dye can cause really noticeably color mistakes if you get the wrong shade of dye for your natural hair coloring.
A piece of advice for strawberry blondes: I don't think this is the right product for you. I come from a family where everyone has some form of reddish hair: black-brown with mahogany, dark auburn/reddish brown like me, and LOADS of strawberry blondes, like my mother. My mother has found that products that are more about blonde highlights are more effective for her.
Also, if you're going to use this product, I'd advice the first time you use it you shampoo your hair twice and each time let it sit there a few minutes. However, be sure to use a really moisturizing conditioner afterwards. This shampoo, like all henna products, can really dry your hair out, which is why I took a lippie off. To be fair, I noticed this shampoo is a lot less drying than other henna shampoos, probably because of the high content of aloe vera. All the same, don't skip conditioner and you probably shouldn't use this every time you shampoo because it could really dry out your hair and make it fragile. Just do it a few times each month when you want to add a little shine to your highlights. Like I said before, this shampoo is about shinier reddish/auburn highlights, not making your hair dramatically redder. So, if you're going to try this, make sure you have appropriate, moderate expectations.

Not bad. I'm not really crazy about it. My hair is mostly blonde but the underside of my hair is red and I have random red hairs throughout. I wanted to bring out the red and I didn't really care too much if it changed the light blonde parts of my hair. It kind of brings out the red portions and makes the blonde part a teeny, tiny bit darker and sort of flattens out my natural highlights but also makes my hair shiny. It's a contradiction in a bottle. All this only happens if I use it several times in a row. Usually I just use this every other time I wash my hair. Anyway, if you're wondering if this will destroy blonde hair or do something dramatic to it, it won't. Probably won't buy it again because it isn't amazing and I like trying different shampoos.

I could take or leave this product. It's perfectly decent, but doesn't do anything great for me. The smell and texture are fine. I personally don't notice any change in my hair, but I have gotten comments about color on the days that I use it from friends. I have very dark brown, curly hair with natural red highlights. It seems that this brings them out more when I'm in the sun/light. It doesn't hurt the quality of my hair or scalp, nor does it improve them. My boyfriend, a natural redhead feels the same way about the affects on him. All in all, certainly worth a try (i have a former co-worker who loved it!) but not one of my favorites. Btw, gave a 4 on packaging b/c hard to get the last bit out and has to be cut open in order to be washed for the recycling bin.

I'm completely on the fence about this product. On the one hand, it doesn't make my scalp itch or react (I have no build-up from using it) and it's sulfate free. On the other hand, it's slightly drying and dulling. Just slightly - not too bad. I'm strawberry blonde and wanted to brighten the red in my hair, but I've used it for 4-5 months and I can't see that it's doing anything. It's not my favorite shampoo. (Giovanni 50/50 is my favorite at the moment.) I don't think I'll repurchase unless I can tell that it's doing something for my color.

I really like this along with the Color Reflect "daily moisure" conditioner. The shampoo softens, smooths broken hairs, and adds body (I think it's the salt in it -- or the henna, not sure).
My hair is darkish-medium brown with subtle golden/warm highlights and this really brightens them and makes them shine! The first week or so it brought out the gold but now (over 2 weeks) it's looking more auburn. Unfortunately, my few greys are still there, but I'm hoping they'll change so I can keep the virgin hair I'm growing out.
This shampoo really makes my hair shiny and I love the subtle change in color, which is a definite improvement over my natural, mousy shade. It's also not drying at all, but very moisturizing and gentle.

Picked this up on a whim at Ulta. This is a great moisturizing shampoo (aloe is at the top of the ingredients list), and after using it a while, it does look like there are some red highlights throughout my medium brown hair. I don't need conditioner, and it cleans well without adding weight. I've bought several tubes of this already, and while I switch up my shampoo often, I haven't had the desire to change to something else since I got this.

I love this shampoo! My hair is medium brown with natural gold highlights, and unfortunately about 10% gray. My hair is fine and delicate, and no matter how much I try, coloring it leaves it like straw. This shampoo actually leaves my gray looking the same shade as the shampoo--a pale reddish brown--and "glowing", just like highlights. Even my hairdresser was fooled for a moment. So for me, this is the best option when it comes to covering up the grays. Plus, it does rev up my brown and give it a lot of beautiful reddish-gold highlights. I've been using it for 2 years now and won't use anything else. I get tons of complements on my hair.

Love this shampoo! It really kicks up the red in my red brown hair and adds shine. Love it with the Color Reflect conditioners (daily and deep conditioner). It really adds to the red in my hair and it's great when the red starts fading - really brings the red back. I love the Color Reflect Conditioners too. A great color adding shampoo and it's not expensive.
ps - the ShiKai body lotions and bath gels are amazing too! Love this line.

I *discovered* Ulta the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see this and several other hair care products on sale! I bought this for dirt cheap( USD$ 2) and used it for the first time about a half hour ago. My hair is still wet, so it's hard to tell what it will look like dry, but my light red hair already looks brighter! I'm excited. It didn't smell great, but the smell wasn't awful enough to offend me, and it did feel drying as I was rinsing my hair, but I have an endless supply of deep conditioners and they fixed that right up. I'll have to update this after my hair dries to let you know how it goes, but so far, not bad.
UPDATE:
This stuff turned out to be utter crap! It left my hair dry and a little duller, will not repurchase.

I love this! I have strawberry blonde, coppery hair, and this really does make it more vibrant. It also makes it very soft and shiny. Who could complain about that?! It isn't very expensive and the tubes travel well. All in all a very good find. I will continue to use this along with the Intensive conditioner. They have made my hair so amazing!

Wow--I think this shampoo is doing a good job of subtly intensifying the natural reddish highlights in my black hair. There's natural red henna extract very high up in the ingredients list and henna coats your hair, making it look shinier. If you have any sort of lighter strands naturally, the henna will coat them and make them look redder and more visible. The texture is a bit runny, it lathers okay but not great, and the fragrance could be improved (it's a sort of rotting apple thing right now, faint but there and sour). It also leaves my normal/oily hair feeling a little dry and stripped after I rinse it out, though it is quite smooth and soft enough once it dries. My hair is really shiny, sleek and manageable these days and I can't remember the last time I've had a bad hair day. Definite repurchase.
