I just starting using this about a week ago and I really like it! I have been using the extra virgin minerals liquid foundation from the body shop for a while and was getting tired of having to apply it with my hands. The Shiseido compact is really moisturizing and applies onto the skin so well! I also really like that the make-up has a yellow undertone to it because my face is naturally pink and the yellow helps tone that down. I also have sensitive, dry skin and this helps moisturize without causing any breakouts. All in all a great product!

I think because of the method of application this shows up every flaw!

Really like this foundation! My Chanel Teint Innocence compact foundation was discontinued, so I have been on the search and finally found this. I have VERY oily skin. Cream compact foundations that you apply with a sponge are my favorite and have always worked best for me.

I see that some women on here are complaining that this foundation looks "cakey" or that they are running out too quickly. Ladies, if that is happening, you are using too much! I have had this compact for two months now and have barely made a dent in it. The coverage is great and you only need apply the very thinnest layer on your skin. I lightly dab the sponge in the foundation and spread/stipple a super-thin layer on my face. I do not need a primer with this foundation, because it evens me out and now my blush goes on perfectly smooth and lasts ALL DAY. That never used to happen with my other foundations. I can't believe that when I check my blush hours later, it is still there! Very happy now!
Pleas note, this foundation is NOT a matte finish; it is a "Natural" finish and slightly "dewey." The less you use, the better it looks and performs. I wish it came in a matte finish, considering how very oily my skin is - but when appiled with a light hand, even ladies with oily skin can wear this. Also, since I am oily, I was scared to try a "hydro-liquid" formula, but again, apply very sparingly and you'll be okay. I really like my smooth, even skin now! Plus this does not break me out - in fact, my skin looks better! If Shiseido will make this in a matte finish, I will definitely buy it. If it was matte, I would have given it five stars.

This is the best foundation i've ever get!! it's matte, good covering and easy to applied.. it's easy to blend too.. and after few hours it's become more glowing and smoother on your skin.. i never find such a good foundation like this.. it's a solid and very creamy foundation.. usually, foundation like this is not suit for me.. but this one is suit for my oily skin.. it's just left lil bit oil on my skin but isn't look gross and mess at all.. even my skin look more glowing and luminize.. good for normal/dry skin.. unfortunately, the price for this foundation was soooo expensive.. but this is quite valuable though expensive..

Didn't work for me, it turned flaky on my skin even after using additional moisturizer and primer. To heavy and cake-y for me.

This is a great foundation for travelling, as it's a cream, but looks really natural and feels light - with sort of a eucalyptus scent. I use the Shiseido foundation brush, which creates a more subtle finish than the sponge. Now... on to the case. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO BIG? I really wish this was a square case with the sponge underneath, like Mac Studiofix or like the Perfect Smoothing Compact Foundation. I like this foundation especially for travel, so why would I want this huge, wide package?

Having said that, I'll still probably buy it again, because it looks so good. The amount is not much, and after a week of wearing it on a business trip, I can see a sizeable dent in the pan. I am NC 35 and O60 is a nice match. This seems to run lighter than other Shiseido foundations and looks lighter on the skin than in the package.

It doesn't break me out~~~ It's a great news to me... the coverage is medium, can't covered all my marks. However, it's enough to me. You have to understand I have extremely sensitive acne prone skin, so I'd tried thousands of products. It's one of them I can use, so I don't have lot of complaints. In spring, it can last for almost 8 hours.. expect for my nose(I believe it's too oily).
The only disadvantage: it is used up too quickly... Once for on day, I think it's only lasted for one month, so that 45 dollars.... too pricy...

I wish it didn't come in such a long case, but I love this foundation. I've been looking for a HG foundation for ages, and, especially in dry dry dry LA winter, this has totally made me so excited to wear foundation. I am the kind of person who usually skips foundation even though I have lots of acne scars, because I hate the way foundation feels. This stuff is fantastic. I wear it in O20, the slightly yellow hue covers up all my redness. Love wearing it with the Shiseido foundation brush.

weird.. i use Shiesido Sheer matifying compact in I60 and it suits me just fine.. however when i got the same I60 in the Hyrdo Liquid Compact the colour is pinkish and gives of a white look.

im not sure if i should get O40 or O60 in this.. will have to try and let u know,

interms of texture it slides on and isnt cakey - however u will need to use translucent powder ontop of it to finish it off or it may wipe onto your clothing.

This is a very heavy cream foundation. I have oily skin and before an hour, my entire face had a sheen. This also felt that it was sitting on top of my skin. I returned this.

It won't work on my combination skin for some reasons. It makes my skin super dry and I could see dry patches on my skin within the hour that I put it on. Tried to put it on in so many different ways: sponge, brush, hands... all didn't work... =(

LOVE this product!! Very quick and easy to apply, especially at 6 a.m. when trying to get ready for a 12 hour workday! And it does last for me those entire 12 hours, does not fade or move once applied. Stays very moist in the tightly closed compact that it comes in. Stays on me better than Cle de Peau, Lancome, armani, dior, all of them!!!

This is a very heavy foundation. It made my fine lines more obvious and also couldn't find a good match to my NW20 skin.

I love this foundation, it gives me such flawless skin! The coverage isn't incredibly high which I prefer, I tend to cover blemishes with a concealer and use a foundation to even out my skin. It is creamy, non drying and gives me a very pretty sheen. It does shine a bit but since I powder set it, it isn't very noticeable.
It works best when the sponge is damp.

I like this foundation! I like the cream to powder finish. It still looks natural but gives good coverage. I don't like looking made up. It moisturizes too which is a bonus! Would definitely buy again.

First of all, this is a cream foundation good for NORMAL/DRY skin type. as the name indicated, it provides hydration which is mostly needed for the dry skin type. I can image it's going to be too much for oily/combination skin type. I use this only during winter when my normal HG make up for forever face and body foundation tends to be a little too drying for my skin. It feels hydrating when applying it. I use the sponge that comes with the package. It does make my face a little bit "sticky" and it's because I don't like using powder which I feel drying out my skin. coverage is glowing and very natural looking but buildable. It lasts about 6 hours by itself without primer or powder. I'm NC 15 and use the lightest shade I00 but they seem to carry more shades now. And it's a portable compact, quick to apply and easy for re-touch if needed.

I 'borrowed' this from my mother, so I cannot comment on the price. I'm guessing it's ridiculously expensive, so I'm giving it a 5 for price.
Also it's amazing! I have a very patchy looking face with some old red scars here and there and this gives me an even look without looking like I have too much make-up on. Because it's very hydrating it is good for my flaky skin and covers things up that would otherwise be accentuated by powdery foundations.
It gives a very dewy look, which I like, but I still blot a little with some powder, because where I live it's super hot and humid anyway.
Use a brush to apply this product !!! Don't use the sponge!
I apply this with a Kabuki brush and very little product and big swirly movements, I get a great finish like this.
I think it will be used up pretty quickly due to the soft texture.
So if this would be cheaper I'd buy it all the time. I’m guessing I will not 'repurchase' though because of the price.

Also if you want a smaller case you can get the refill of this product and just use that while travveling or on the go. that doesn't have a mirror though

I was recommended this product when I had severe cystic acne as a teenager because it is not too thick and doesn't clog the pores.

Fast forward seven years and I still love it, but I must say it is not my first choice mainly because of the price, and the fact that it does not last very long (around two months max).

In terms of the product itself, it gives a pretty light coverage that is relatively even.

I don't use the sponge as I'm not a fan of applying makeup with a sponge in general. I think it tends to waste too much product and I was also paranoid about the germs / bacteria when I had bad acne.

When I feel like treating myself, this is the foundation I buy, but as a broke uni student I can't really justify shelling out that much on this to use as a day-to-day foundation.
