This is my HG moisturizer! Doesn't break me out or irritate my sensitive/acne prone skin. I love this a lot. I was previously using Clinique's oil free moisturizer but it just became too expensive. Plus I've be turning all my skin care and makeup products to more natural/organic/earth friendly.

I've tried both formulas of this moisturizer and both of them seem to work perfect on my skin. The old version was a bit thicker and creamy in consistency and the new is more liquid like. I do like the older formula more though.
Packaging could be better.

Update: This is starting to break me out. So I've stopped using it and switched back to my Clinique.

Initial impressions: 70% organic ingredients, oil-free creme in a plastic jar, scent like a creamsicle. I figured I'd finally try this out. I'm not a fan of the plastic jar, I much prefer a tube.

It does hydrate nicely and sinks into the skin, with some plumping effects. Had no trouble applying makeup over the top. I like the fact it's probably healthier for the skin rather than all the phthalates, etc in traditional products.

I will update as time goes on.

Don't know what kind of formula they've changed, but I got burn after 2 days although it's gone after 15' or 30' and my skin still felt smoothy... Should I use it for more? really upset. If someone from Vietnam would like to test it plz contact me : )

I really like this product for a daytime moisturiser - the only problem is I have to wear a separate SPF over it. It leaves my skin soft and hydrated but it hasn't broken me out, as I have acne-prone skin. On really dry areas like my nose I do wear a thicker moisturiser but I wouldn't expect an oil-free moisturiser to work on really dry patches - its very good for an oil free moisturiser though.

EDIT: Unfortunately this product has been re-formulated. This was one of the few oil-free moisturisers I had found that actually hydrated my skin. I believe this was due to the hyaluronic acid, which is an ingredient they have now removed, and so this falls on the pile of oil-free moisturisers that don't moisturise!

This USED to be my HG moisturizer. It was amazing. It made my skin clear, soft, even and plump (in a good way). Unfortunately, the company decided to reformulate for no apparent reason and it now clogs my pores and causes breakouts. I am so incredibly disappointed that they decided to change a very highly rated and generally well tolerated product. The new packaging says "Now more sustainable!" whatever that means. Frankly, when your skin is as difficult as mine, you do not give a crap about "sustainability" in a moisturizer. You want it to work and not cause clogs and pimples. It also smells terrible now. I don't know what ingredients they changes, but it was a huge mistake. Boo.

I love this moisturizer! I got this to jump start my anti-aging. I just wish it moisturized a little more. The cream keeps blemishes away and doesn't clog my pores. It makes my skin glow in the morning. For the price you get a decent quantity, even if it is in a jar. I currently have dry (product over use) and very sensitive skin. This cream does make my cheeks a little pink when I first put it on. But when I wake up my skin is radiant. I won't give this cream HG status because I need something that delivers more moisture.... but its darn close. I only use this at night due to the red hue it gives to my cheeks. But I have used this during the day at times. It soaks in and leaves a smooth finish. Great for under make-up. I tend to use more of this cream at night that at day, so this cream should last more than six months. For 15$ thats not bad.

I did try the richer version of this cream. It clogged my pores :( Else I would probably have my HG.

Edit:
I took a lippie off. This cream made my face highly irritated and it never calmed down. Whatever benefits I was receiving definetly were not worth the irritation. I'm currently using this as a mask of sorts just to try and finish off the product. (Leaving a large amount of it on for 10-30 mins only.) I have also changed it to not repurchasing due to the fact it caused irritation. Sensitive skin beware,

I'm not completely sure what prompted me to buy this; aside from being oil-free, everything about it screams comedogenic (my skin is fairly sensitive and typically products containing natural ingredients/extracts have been irritating and acne-causing on me). It might be because I watched a YouTube video of someone raving about Avalon and how it's a fantastic drugstore brand. Also I think I was drawn to the vitamin C aspect of it because I've heard wonderful things about vitamin C in skincare.

I started out using it as a night moisturizer and...my skin became incredibly red! I wasn't sure if it was my skin reacting to the vitamin C or if because I was still using benzoyl peroxide 2.5% to treat existing pimples and combining the two was causing irritation. So, I decided to ditch the BP (for the first time in several years - every time I stopped using it in the past my skin would break out terribly!), use only the Avalon moisturizer and just...(nervously) see what happens!

After about day 3 the redness completely went away, and after about 2 weeks -- now using morning and night -- every single pimple I had prior to using this moisturizer went away. I also haven't developed any new pimples which might be some sort of record for me. Is this stuff actually keeping my acne at bay? It's entirely possible my skin changed at some point over the years without my knowledge and my constant use of BP was actually making it worse...OR...this moisturizer is preventing my sebaceous glands from over-producing oil which in turn is keeping my pores from becoming clogged. I can't say for sure, I'm no dermatologist...but no matter because it works!

Here are the PROS so far:
1) More even and brighter skin tone
2) Acne scars and sun spots are slowly fading away
3) Feels light and NON-greasy (it practically leaves a matte-like finish once applied and actually keeps my skin from getting too oily throughout the day)
4) Great orange scent

CONS:
1) Comes in a jar which can be unsanitary if not careful

A few things to keep in mind:
When applying this moisturizer it may feel thick and difficult to blend into the skin AT FIRST - you really need to blend softly with your fingers, then stop and sort of pat it in or place your hands onto your face letting the heat from your hands sink it in, and then continue blending. Once it's no longer visible it'll look like you didn't put any moisturizer on but your face will in fact feel moisturized!

Now I am not one to take the time to write ANY reviews ANYWHERE but I def think I owe it to the product to give it a great review, I've been using many different moisturizers over the past 10 years and there have been good ones and bad ones but have never found a GREAT one, I decided to give this one a try after I heard Amarixe on youtube rave about it and I was def very pleased with the results, within a couple of days of using at night afer washing my face, I can def see a difference in my skin completion, I used to be a bit dull and dry but now I see my skin brighter and well moisturized. The smell is also great, smells like oranges. I will def be purchasing again I have finally found my HG of moisturizers. This is the best my skin has ever looked!!!

I would consider this very close to a gel-cream in texture/weight. It spreads smoothly and absorbs quickly into skin- no shine. Has a happy citrus-orange fragrance. Stable form of vitamin c- Magnesium ascorbyl sulfate. Great overnight treatment- notice brightening of skin right away, and I also use daily under sunscreen. The price compares very favorably to other moisturizers and vit c products. A tube or pump dispenser would be ideal, but at the pace I use product one jar lasts a month and the product stays fresh and germ free if you use a little spatula or something to dip into cream with. Highly recommend.
I have to wonder if other reviewers who find this heavy or greasy are actually using the (identical looking package) cream formula. This one is the oil-free version, and again, is a light gel-cream formula.

I don't get the bad comments on this either. I transfer my jar into a little bottle with a pump and I absolutly *love it.* It is loaded with good stuff for your face and feels great on. I have oily skin and only use moisturizer at night.
This jar is available at drugstore prices and even cheaper on iherb.com. I used code KOC138 and got another $5 off. I will continue to repurchase.

I don't know why this product got so many bad comments!! I've been suffering flaky skin (if i rub my face with a dark cloth, the cloth turns white from all of my skin flakes). I was using differin that made my skin even MORE dry. I tried using the Avene rich moisturier, the japanese hada labo milky moisturizer, and even my beloved First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream on my face, but nothing seemed to work!! I decided to head over to target and find something there. I had already tried so many things, and I just wanted to try something organic after putting my skin through so much product testing. I purchased this and used it at night, The next morning, not only did I not have any flakes on my face and necks, but my skin also felt supple and looked brighter!! I've been using this for a couple of days now, so I will update in a few weeks. Until then, this will be my go-to cream for nighttime!! LOVE IT!

I bought this product at the beginning of August in my quest to nourish my skin with vitamins and natural ingredients as opposed to smothering it with chemicals. It seemed to work well enough for the first couple of weeks, but after almost three months I've decided it's not for me.
First off, I love the smell of this cream (and I'm calling it a cream because it's very thick and moisturizing, even though it's marketed towards oily-skinned people). I also like how it is indeed very moisturizing. However, it is a very heavy product and feels like it's suffocating my skin, which is exactly what I don't want to do. I suspect it's breaking me out/clogging my pores even though it's oil-free (another selling point for me). I paid about $18 CDN at Walmart for it and if I were to continue using it twice daily I feel like it would last me for about a year (50 mL jar); you really don't need much. But overall I'm disappointed in it and won't continue using it, at least not on my face.
I would recommend this product to people with dry skin that isn't prone to clogged pores or breakouts.

I bought this moisturizer four months ago, during a particularly crazy LUSH phase, when I discovered AoBS and then decided to buy as much as I could get my hands on. Gorgeous moisturizer was just too much for me though, and when I saw this, I decided it was a good enough substitute.

I’m prone to dry patches, particularly around the mouth and nose. My old moisturizers would get the areas moisturized at first, enough to put makeup on, but my face would be back to its patchy state three hours later and I’d look like I was shedding foundation.

A few things about this:

1. It’s really thick, for a moisturizer, so I’d apply it while my face is still damp from the toner, and I’d use a dot for my entire face. The liquid helps get the moisturizer around, and using a little makes sure I wouldn’t be too greasy.

2. I don’t think anyone should use this while it’s hot. I live in a tropical country, so just stepping out of my air-conditioned office building is enough for my face to generate an oil slick. Having this on (even without makeup!) while it’s hot makes me feel sticky and gross. Washing thoroughly isn’t enough. I have to tone twice when I use this on a hot day; the cotton pad comes off with more dirt and grease than I have without this moisturizer.

3. It’s bad under makeup. I find that my makeup melts and slides off easily, and I’d have to retouch by 10AM.

4. The moisturizer really helped with my dry patches and my acne scars. I didn’t really see the “glow” that all Vitamin C products imply I’ll get, but I found that dark spots faded faster than they used to, and that I can actually open my mouth without feeling like the sides of it will crack. My skin tone is so now better without makeup, but it for some reason, I look really blotchy with just moisturizer on. This is why I stopped applying it in the morning

It’s a good product overall, if you’re not always subjected to crazy heat, and if your face isn’t an oil slick waiting to happen. Otherwise, it’d be best to look elsewhere.

It soaked in well too and my face felt moisturized. It didn't do anything special to my skin but on the other hand i din't expext anything. All in all quite okay cream.

I just purchased this a few days ago and have been using it for the past 2 nights. So far, I really like it. It feels a bit greasy going on (although it is oil-free) however a thin layer sinks in pretty quickly, so you really don't need a lot of product. My skin is already starting to look smoother, younger, and more even. I like the fact it is natural and organic, however I'm not crazy about the packaging. For sanitary reasons, I don't see how good it can be to keep dipping your hands in a jar, but I wash my hands before putting on my night creams anyway. I will update if this gives me breakouts, I am hoping it won't!
*UPDATE* Although this did a great job of rejuvenating my skin, it started to cause me to break out... :( Too bad, because other than that it has been working great! Back to my L'Oreal Revitalift!

At first I really loved this stuff - smells wonderful, has a great texture and leaves your skin feeling supple and soft, however, I returned this after about a week because it was causing major break outs. Upon closer inspection, this oil free moisturizer contains several comedogenic ingredients - oil free does not equal non-comedegenic, unfortunately.

I've been using this for about 4 days now. It made me breakout a little at first but now it seems to actually be helping my skin. My skin is looking healthy and any scars or marks I had seem to be fading some. I will update when I've been using this a little longer. But so far, so good!

UPDATE: I love this stuff. I use it in the morning and at night. My skin tone is more even and overall my skin looks really nice. I think I'm going to try the cleanser too.

This is perfect for my oily skin. I use it at night, or after an OCM treatment. It's a bit thick at first, but it really does soak right in after a few minutes. The scent is heavenly! Since I started using it, my acne has pretty much disapeared, & my usually large pores have shrunk so much. I'll definitely be keeping this in my routine!

This product just wansn't for me. First of all, I HATE lotions that come in a pot bc I think over time, even when careful, they become unsanitary and break down due to exposure.

That said, I gave this a try bc I was trying to make the switch to natural and organic skin care. This product did not apply well to my face. It felt OK by itself, but when I tried to put my makeup on top it was like the lotion was not absorbing into my skin, even after letting it sit for 5-10 minutes before applying foundation. This lotion dried up and balled up when foundation hit my skin. I would not try this product again, even as a night cream.

I have worked in Dept. Store cosmetics for the last ten years. I am not easily impressed by any means and I really wanted to hate this product at first. I have tried every cream, serum, scrub, toner, and cleanser imaginable (including drugstore and dept. store brands) and could open my own store up with all of the skincare products that I currently have sitting in my bathroom.

I suffered from cystic acne, which has now cleared up but I'm now left with these acne scars on my face and nothing I have ever used has REALLY worked at all.

I LOVE THIS CREAM!!! I am super oily and this balances my skin out. I have an amazing luminous complexion! Not the typical oil-slick that I have by around 4 in the afternoon, just a fabulous glow! I am getting compliments from my regular customers at work asking me what new product I am using. It has greatly helped diminish my acne scars along with the other products in my regiment. ( I use Philosophy booster caps at night with their When Hope is Not Enough face serum )

I love this cream so much that I went out and bought the Vitamin C Cleansing Milk also. I use it with my CLarisonic face brush and it doesn't strip my skin at all. FANTASTIC!!!

No breakouts at all either, and to boot, my blackheads are all clearing up. I think its from the lavender.
