This is a decent comb, but not worth the $28 I paid. It's durable, but not substantially more so than any other wide-toothed comb. I also think it snags my hair more than my Tangle Teazer brush. I won't repurchase this if I lose it.

I use this comb to detangle my hair and to apply conditioner/masks. It is very effective, it does not break my hair and it is very gentle on the scalp. Overall a very good product that matches the excellent quality of Meason Pearson's brushes.

I turn to either this comb or the detangling comb to pick out my long, naturally wavy hair when it's dry. What a great find--it is worth every penny. It doesn't break or snag the hair. If you have long, tangly hair and a tender head you will love this (and honestly you will love their brushes too).

Okay, I have to say something on this one. I have been an avid Mason Pearson Brush fan for about 8 yrs now. I just bought the Rake, my first of their combs, and I have to say that it is nothing special. I have had better wide tooth combs that cost 50% less. Buy the brushes, leave the combs.

Update: Added a lippie b/c even though it's not really worth raving about, it's still a great product I use daily. The comb ends are perfectly rounded and spaced far enough apart, that it doesn't hurt my scalp or tear my wet hair out. A+

overall: i've heard about mason pearson brushes and combs for several years, but i thought it was just a bunch of hype. how could a comb or brush be that good to be worth $100? somehow, it is that good. i bought the rake comb after dumping my decade old sebastian comb. hah, i don't think sebastian even makes combs anymore. i was soo surprised at how smoothly it glided through my wet hair. apparently, a good comb does make a difference. since it went so easily through my hair, that helps prevent breakage and damage. i would definitely purchase this for someone else since these combs are supposed to last me forever.
package: the package is just a thin cardboard box. the comb, however, is brown.
price: $25 USD

amazing! i recently stopped using brushes in my long wavy hair b/c they were damaging- have been using nothing but the MP rake comb and have noticed a huge difference- so much less frizz and more shine- i now have two of these combs-asked for the second one as a bday gift- i love everything about this comb- the size, smoothness, etc-

I loved the Mason Pearson boar bristle brush so much that I decided to treat myself to the comb too. I've always used a wide toothed comb from goody but wanted one that did not have any seams as they can cause breakage. The Mason Pearson detangling comb didn't have wide enough teeth for me so the rake was a perfect choice. Doesn't have seams. Combs through very easily as it is very smooth. Great size too. Love it! Hope I don't have to get another ever. I got it at Fred Segal beauty for about $30. A must for everyone who wants to prevent fly aways. Worth every penny plus some!

Once you try this comb, there is no other comb to own in the world!
Just like the faithful Mason Pearson brushes, their combs absolutely live up to the same quality as their world famous brushes.
I have long hair, and this is the most comfortable comb that I have ever used on my scalp- It really detangles, better than their detangling comb, in my opinion.
The combs are hand made & each tooth is rounded & highly polished to eliminate any rough edges.
Although they are more expensive than your average comb, around 25.00, your locks will thank you each and every time!
