Love Frederic Fekkai shampoo and conditioner. Hate this product. Does not add volume and makes hair wet/crunchy looking.

Nothing instant or root-lifting about it. Waste of money and overhyped, as I have found all FF products I have tried to be. I'd give it a 2 if it were a drugstore volumizer, but it isn't. FF is touted as exclusive and effective and therefore worth the cost. But it isn't. AT BEST, his line competes with a drugstorel line. Maybe. So for the money and the lack of performance, it gets a 1. I will admit, I do not seem to have much success with volumizers in general...SIGH. I'm gonna cross this one off my list along with Rusk volumizing spray, the one from Aveda, Ojon and countless others. The best one yet is B&b thickening, but even that is still not HG. I'm open to suggestions!

I'm surprised at the negative reviews. I like this product. I don't really like mousse all that much (it weighs down my thin hair) so I find this to be a very effective substitute for volume. The smell is pleasant and I think the product is effective overall. It is a bit pricey, so I may shop around when I run out, but I have a feeling I will return to this. I use this on damp hair and then blow dry as usual.

DO NOT LIKE THIS PRODUCT AT ALL.... causes major build-up on my scalp. Does not lift at the crown.. It sucks.. I have fine medium length hair... don't waste your money!

Best root lifter I have ever used. I got this at Christmas time and I just finished the bottle. So it last over 7 months, and i pretty much used it every day. But it give really like lift WITHOUT leaving your hair crunchy, stiff or a weird texture. LOVE this product. I need to get another one. The price is a little high but its really worth it.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT !!
As previously stated, it recommends using this product with some sort of heat source. I usually use this product with a blow dryer and a comb designed for volumizing (you can pick one up at Sally's). Also, I want to say that this isn't an HG product by any means. If I know I have a special event coming up, the day before I won't wash my hair. Then the day of, I'll wash my hair with any volumizing shampoo and dampen my hair with this product (roots and all). Then I'll blow dry and style. So, you can definitely tell that this is a timely routine if you want to achieve a full effect. I also want to say that with ANY volumizing product, you have to put forth a lot of time and effort to achieve any kind of "salon volume". As far as price goes, it's really expensive but it claims that it has "salon quality" and we all know who frederick fekkai is so I completely agree with the pricing. And I work at Bath & Body Works so I get a discount on all of his products. (You can pick up his products at any BBW) Packaging isn't anything too special.

I have very fine oily long hair that easily goes flat and limp. So far this is the best product I can find to give my hair lift. You do have to use it with a blow dryer to get a good lift otherwise you will get the crunchy roots others are talking about. I have tried TIGI catwalk, Pureology Root LIft, and a few others, so far I like this the best.

Extremely disappointed. It does nothing for my hair armpit-length, thin, Asian hair. I think it'd be a lot better for those with short, fine hair. I gave it 2 lippies b/c it does smell good IMO and the spray comes out nicely and evenly for me. I lost the receipt but I really want to return it! I paid $25 CDN for it!!

Don't expect much from this stuff. It didn't make any obvious difference in my hair AT ALL. Tresemme Big Boost costs less than 5 dollars and does a little better job of adding volume to my hair without any stickiness. Save your $19.50.

This product was a disappointment for me. It did not offer any more lift than if I used no product at all. I actually used the complete full volume line and not one of them impressed me.

I'm iffy on this product. I generally like Frederick Fekkai (except for the price!), but this one isn't dong much for me. I have straight flat hair, that needs backcombing at the roots to give my cut a nice shape. I bought this with the good reviews here, but it's kind of "meh" for me.

Price: $19.50 US for 8 oz.

Nice scent, bottle a bit difficult to use since I prefer the spray nozzle to have a dip to it's always pointing the right way - with the flat type like this, you have to check.

After a few weeks of use, it does give volume, but it doesn't last. Leaves my roots a bit "crunchy" if I'm not careful. No problem with residue or buildup that I've noticed. Nice scent, but doesn't really work that well. I wouldn't repurchase this.

I have extremely long (nearly waist-length), straight virgin hair that tends to go flat (due to my oily scalp) so I'm always trying mousses and volumizers. This is my first root-lifting spray and I'm pleased overall. I found that it works best when sprayed onto damp (not wet) roots. Then I comb to distribute the product a bit (otherwise your roots can get a little sticky/crunchy), blowdry with a round brush and I get awesome lift that lasts for at least the workday, even in really hot, humid weather. Sometimes if the weather is better, my roots remain ungreasy and volumized into the next morning. Quite a feat given my hair type!

This has an oddly strong, cheap cologne sort of scent that I'm not crazy about, especially because it seems to linger faintly in my hair. So I knocked off a lippie for that and the high price (almost 20 USD). But otherwise, lived up to my expectations.

This stuff is is a bottle that is not very easy to use. It is too stiff and smells terrible. It doesn't give me much volume either. I prefer the root lifter from toni and guy much better. Sorry that I wasted my money.

I love this stuff! It really works. It says to use it with heat, but I just use it when styling my hair and just kinda scrunch my roots and it really adds volume! I love it!

Holy wow- this stuff will blow your mind.

I've got thick, yet very fine, hair worn in a bob. I'm not looking to boost it up every day, but when I am, nothing works better than this.

I've found that the best trick is to blow-dry your hair to about 75% of what you usually do, spray this on your roots, then lift them up with a round brush and the high/hot option on your hair dryer. That method gives me the volume of a Motown queen, and my hair usually has the volume of a greasy hippie.

I'm somewhat ambivalent about all of the other Fekkai products I've tried (reviews TK), but this one is a keeper.

All I can say is WOW! I have tried every volumizing product out there and this stuff is just amazing. Just a few sprays and I have great volume without any stickiness or stiffness and it actually hold throughout the day. Great stuff!!

This gave me great volume that lasted. I would def recommend it for flat, lifeless hair (such as mine:) in need of a boost. The lady at Saks told me it lasts a very long time so it sounds like its worth the $ as well

This is my Holy Grail of all Volumizers. I'm surprised more people haven't reviewed this amazing product. It really does the trick with a nice big round brush and a blowdryer. And it smells great like a clean soapy fresh scent very unisex.

I am always on the lookout for a great root lifting spray but every single one I've tried just makes my roots really gummy or sticky and weighed down, even if I take the time to blow it out properly. Fekkai's root lifting spray however does exactly what it promises. It gives texture, boosts the roots without stickiness, and does not dry hard or crunchy. I don't even have to blow dry for it to lift. Coupled with B&B Thickening spray + blow out and you've got full volume for a full day.
