If you like bolder, more dynamic colors this might not be for you. But on my coloring and for my needs, this is basically a perfect neutral quad. What I really like about it is that all four colors work so perfectly together to give you everything you need for a polished look. The key is the dark matte brown. It makes a great liner and brow powder, or you can use a little on the outer V or in your crease. It's hugely convenient for travel, or just if you're in a hurry because you don't have to hunt around for other colors or products -- it's all right in one palette.

Demure is the second Chanel palette that I've owned. So far I'm not that impressed by Chanel eyeshadows and feel that the price point is for the Chanel name and not so much for the quality. Don't get me wrong, the quality is fine, soft, blendable, subtle shimmer. My major Chanel quad complaint is the color combinations and finishes. This particular quad has 2 almost identical peachy shades, the only difference is that one is slightly lighter than the other and both have subtle shimmer. Both peaches are too dark to use under the brow bone. Even if the peach was light enough, I prefer a matte or satin shade not shimmer for the brow bone area. The other shades include a rosy mauve with a hint of peach (similar to Nars nepal only cooler/rosier compared to nepal). And the deepest shade is a matte brown which is neutral to slightly cool-toned. I would have prefered the brown to be warm toned since the rest of the shades are warm, but it's not a big concern at all.
The other annoyance I have with Chanel is the packaging. I find shiny lightweight black plastic to look cheap, the sponge applicators that are included are also cheap looking. I even prefer Nars packaging over Chanel, at least Nars looks modern and sleek (even though it collects fingerprints like crazy). Now that I think of it, I prefer the quality of Nars e/s over Chanel.
I would rather stick to Nars, Chantecaille and Guerlain eye quads/palettes. Not sure what the appeal is in Chanel e/s, but if an interesting color combination came out, I would consider purchasing.

Of all the shadows I own, this quad is the one I reach for most frequently; if I could only keep a few of my products, this would be on the list. It looks nondescript -- a pretty palette of neutrals -- but I can't tell you how many times someone has said, "Wow, what did you do to your eyes? What IS that?" when I wear it. I'm pale, and I think the pink mutes the espresso brown, which is flattering to blue eyes -- and it ends up being such a pretty combination. I've had the quad for years (keeping it clean, of course), and it has been a worthwhile investment. I would definitely buy it again (and I probably should, before Chanel can discontinue it!...). Love!

This quad is fairly nice, I was looking for something with a few light pink shades and spotted this. The texture of the shadows is fabulous, they all blend beautifully and are very smooth. The shades are decent, nothing exceptionally exciting, but I assume anyone buying this palette will be looking to use this for the daytime, and that is just what it is perfect for. I adore the darkest shade, as it is somehow wearable on my very fair skin even during the day. I can rarely use the darker shades in palettes because they always seem to emphasize my dark circles or just completely overpower my eyes, but that is not the case with this. The colour is very buildable, and very blendable for those seeking a more dramatic look. Overall, I quite like this little quad, but it is nothing HG. I like trying new things, so I probably will not repurchase, but will definitely use it all up and enjoy it while I have it.

This is a beautiful quad with soft, neutral colors. It is a versatile quad where one can easily go from a natural day look or build the colors into a dramatic look for evening.
So, why will I not buy this again? There is an undertone in the
shadows that makes me look washed out, no matter how I apply it. It's just my coloring.

This chanel quad was just stolen from me and it made me realize how awesome it was so I thought I would write a review. This is my constant go-to eyeshadow quad. The colors go perfectly together. They are neutral and beautiful. I also use the dark brown as an eyeliner.

The problem I have with this is the same one I have with NARS ''Nepal" eyeshadow. Beautiful colours, but looks not so nice on me. I am extremely fair with pink undertones and the peachy rose, and the light pink of this quad blend in too much with my skin and makes my eyes look super irritated. the brown in the quad is much too muddy for my skintone. I do, however, really like the flesh tone highlight colour, but would obviously not buy this again just for that. the texture of these is nice though.

I gave it a 4 because of the consistancy, it's chalky and not smooth. I wish Dior and Chanel would come together, putting Chanel colors with Dior formula. This is a nice neutral everyday palette, I use the darkest as a liner, med. color in the crease, the two lightest as a highlighter or a base.

Demure is the perfect name for this quad. There is nothing dramatic, harsh or edgy about the colors; it's a pretty palette of four easy neutrals with soft shimmer (no glitter or sparkles). There are two light champagne colored shades (one is a peach champagne, the other a pink champagne), a gorgeous mauve petal pink, and a truly neutral deep brown that can be used for lining, in the crease, or for the outer v. The brown is actually a little less warm than it looks in the picture I uploaded. It's a completely neutral brown, without any of the reddish or gold tones that warm ones have, or any of the taupe or greyish tones that cooler browns have. I sometimes use the two lightest shades mixed as a wash over my lids and it gives the same brightening effect of the NARS All About Eve duo. Other days I highlight with one of the lightest shades, use the mauve pink on the lid, and line with the brown shadow. I also use this in the evenings for a smoky eye look: I highlight with the lightest shade, use the mauve over my lid and then blend a bit of the dark brown over that (it makes the prettiest smoky brown with a slight mauve sheen), and line with Chanel Coffee Bean eyeliner (a perfect match for this look; it looks like the brown shadow, only darker). The shadows are silky and blendable, and overall this is a nice palette that I would repurchase.

I'm a PPP with pink undertones. This eye shadow pallette lacks 'punch'. I bought it thinking it would make a good day time eye shadow compact with all the colors necessary to complete this look in palette. I was wrong. The colors are pretty; however, I have to mix other colors into the crease for a smokey look. I tried using the taupe color; however, it looks 'muddy'. I mixed and matched this quad in every thinkable configuration and it is just far to subtle for my taste. I like a nice look for the day; however, it still needs to pop. This quad would be nice for the woman who does not like a made up look aka natural look. I'm returning it.

The four lovely neutral shades in this compact are beautiful, blend easily, and are perfect for an everyday kind of look. You can emphsize the brown for a nighttime smoky look, or keep it simple for day. The brown shade is the only matte finish e/s in this palette, while the peach/pink/rose color have some shimmer. It's so expensive though I will probably not repurchase.

Ok, I was waiting to decide if I love this quad or if it is just "ok" and very expensive. I was looking for everyday shadow quad that was pretty and long lasting. I buy alot of Chanel...., so that was the first counter I went to. The sa recommended these, even though I was looking at a different set. She said that they would look great on me. So I walked out with them. The price was hefty ($55) but I usually buy their liquid eyeshadow that is $30 for one shade. I tried them the next day and it looked ok.I didn't wear them for a while after that, but here lately this is all I wear. So simple, clean, not sparkly, just soft shimmer. I LOVE THIS QUAD. You can not go wrong with it. These shadows blend extremely easy. I normally wear the lightest color on my brow bone, the pinkish color in the middle and the matte brown in the crease. I'm not gonna describe the colors because other reviewers have already done that pretty good. The packaging is great, compact with a large mirror, the shadows are not running all over the compact either like some others I have had. The compact comes in a little velvet pouch( I guess all that comes at a price, haha). The only complaint I have are the little aplicators.... come on, $55 and they are so cheaply made. But that is not going to stop me from repurchasing this again. If you are interested in looking at this quad I recommend to go in the store, because online the colors suck. They are so different and untrue. Oh by the way this is not a LE it is here to stay.

I really like this quad. It has a shimmery mauve, a shimmery pale peach, a satiny light roe pink and a brown that is right in between medium and dark. Natural / neutral and so nice for that polished daytime look or whenever if youre like me and just prefer subtle colors. The shimmery shadows are so pretty and light catching, they just glow on my lids and the rose pink and brown are satiny and blendable. I generally use the brown as a liner but Ive also used it to add drama to the lid by using it on the outer corner. This is my favorite quad from Chanel so far. I would buy again but its limited. The only drawback is its fairly pricey but I am really super happy with it so I feel okay about paying "so much" for it.

This is my HG quad for a subtle daytime look. Chanel's eye shadows are soooo soft and blendable. True, the pigmentation isn't very intense, but I think it is a good amount of pigment to achieve a sophisticated, subtle look. The Demure quad has 3 shimmery shadows (all warm-ish: a light peach, a light pink, a rosy mauve) as well as one matte shadow (a deep brown, great for lining and I also like to use this as an eyebrow color). I would absolutely repurchase this. The quality is great, the packaging is elegant, and I can really *use* this. Totally worth the Chanel price tag, IMO.

This was my first Chanel quad and I had to have it due to the gorgeous soft shades. Unfortunately, the pink and peach shades didn't really show up on me and I'm super pale. The rosy mauve shimmer color was pretty but not exciting and the matte chocolate brown did little to add to the collection. These shadows basically provided a soft rosy wash when all 4 were applied. I returned this and purchased some ombre essentielle shadows instead. The quads are a better buy than purchasing the singles, but oh well. However, I tested the Shimmering Dunes quad and the colors were more pigmented and just plain gorgeous.

I LOVE this quad! Alot of people complained it was too subtle and that the colors didn't show well so I was hesitant to buy it.... but when I was at Saks buying blizzard and rose petale blush I just couldn't help myself! SO GLAD I CAVED! This is my perfect daytime don't want to look like i'm wearing makeup quad. The Dunes quad is still my HG (I also own Spices, Facinations, Vanites and winter nights) this comes in a close 2nd! I wish Chanel would make this permanant! Next on my list is Variations and Nymphea.... you can't beat Chanels nuetral quads!

A beautiful quad from Chanel. Nothing too crazy or exciting, but a great every day set of colors. Chanel eyeshadow just absolutely stays put and performs beautifully throughout the day. These colors have just enough shimmer mixed with just enough matte. The look can be dramatized a bit (with the chocolate brown) or lightened up tremendously by just using the 2 lighter colors (pinky and peachy shimmers). Another winner from Chanel - (do they ever miss!?) :) $55 for eyeshadow will forever make me gag, but I've never been disappointed in a product from Chanel. Plus when I wear it I feel somewhat...hollywood-ish :)

This is a beautiful neutral quad that has a pale pink shimmer, a pale peach shimmer, a mid-rose shimmer and matte neutral dark brown. The most neutral quadra that Chanel has come out with to date. The colors all work beautifully together to creat a very natural looking eye. You can use the dark brown to accent the crease, or with a damp brush to line the eye (or both, of course). Some people might find this quad boring, but to me there's nothing boring about grabbing a pallette in the morning that is going to be no-fail and look smashing on. This pallette is LE unfortunately, I really wish it weren't because it's such a basic, fail-safe look that should be in their regular quadra line up.

This is a really nice shadow set from Chanel. The colors are subtle peaches with a warm brown. The colors show up on me are a great basic shadows. If you have a ton of peaches you might not want to get it but if you don't have many neutrals then it is worth having. The pigmentation is really good also it stayed on me all day with no primer.
