If you're like me, your New Year's resolution probably involved something about finally 'getting in shape.' A major part of this is, of course, cutting back on many of the delicious goodies that added inches to your waistline in the first place. If you're still mourning the loss of your favorite sweet treats, wipe off your tears and hop into the shower! Philosophy has recently released a whole plethora of yummy three-in-one shampoo / shower gel / bubble bath products. So, even if you can't eat a slice of red velvet cake at least you can smell like one! Nom, nom, nom ... These products are absolutely fab! Can you tell I'm a big fan? The delicious concoctions lather like a dream, moisturize well and smell divine - DIVINE! The only downside is that the scent doesn't linger long on your skin after you get out of the shower. If you'd like to smell like a bakery all day (which I do) just work the gel into your hair, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinse. Your locks will smell like sugar and spice and everything nice all day long!

I LOVE PHILOSOPHY PRODUCTS!
And red velvet cake is one of my favorite scent! To me, it smells very.. chocolaty. And granted, the scent does go away once you rinse off. But it's pretty awesome to smell cakes while you're showering!
And I do use this to wash my hair.. It does a great job at cleaning my hair. It's just so practical to use a 3 in 1 like this when I'm in a rush in the morning.
And I don't know if this product can completely replace shampoo+conditioner because I have pretty healthy, smooth hair so I actually love not using conditioner- this gives me more volume.

This smells like black forest cake to me not red velvet. Chocolate cherry. Disappointing, cuz rvc is a family tradition and having that scent in a body wash would be killer.

This was my introduction to Philosophy 3-in-1s and I don't understand the attraction. I got it for Christmas as part of a set of 6 small Philosophy shower gels. I love shower gels but always considered Philosophy to be overpriced and too cutesy by half. But I tried this four times and I don't like it.
It doesn't smell like red velvet cake. I don't know what it smells like, but it reminds me of a little girl scent. I need a LOT of gel to get any scent at all or any decent lather and when I do, it's not very effective at cleansing. I can't imagine ever using this to try to wash my hair.
I'd give it only 1 lippie if not for the fact that it does do one thing Philosophy claims: the fragrance leaves my skin quickly.

SInce I love baked goods and I love yummy smelling bath products, I've wanted this 3-in-1 forever. It's expensive (for body wash!) at $16 dollars. However, it's a fun product and a nice way to treat yourself. The smell is almost perfect. It smells so much like red velvet cake. My only complaint is, as everyone else mentioned, that there is a cherry note in this. Red velvet cake does not have cherries in it. However, cherries and all, this stuff still smells amazing. It lathers well and smells great. It's not great as a bubble bath or shampoo though, but I only bought it for shower gel. I'd recommend! I'd buy again too...it's lovely!

If you read my review for Creme Brulee 3 In 1,it sums up how I feel about this product quality wise. Scent wise it smells like cherries and chocolate. I don't get the cherry notes, Red Velvet cake does not have cherries in it unless maybe one would want to use it as a garnish. The scent is nothing to write home about.

I love the Philosophy products: I think all of their scents are true-to-name. I received this as a Christmas present (ok, I picked it out), and I love the scent! It is delicious! I only ever use it as a shower gel, because to use it on my hair makes my hair feel dry, but it is so much fun!

this product is a shower/bath smelling only scent. it doesnt last after a shower, it washes away once the product is washed off.. it's overly priced and the smell is ok. ive never smelled red velvet cake so i cant compare.. i dont find the smell delicious though. it does smell a bit off and i wouldnt be surprise if it does have a little stank of vinegar...
i wouldnt even consider using this on my hair, ever. the bubble/lather factor could be better... theres many cheaper products that smell, lather and cleanser way better than this. this is too much hype.

This review is for Philosophy Red Velvet Cake 3-in-1. I adore this scent. I have never tasted or smelled an actual Red Velvet Cake so I have no idea if it is a true scent. It does smell great though. For some reason this one doesn’t lather as well as the other Philosophy 3-in-1 gels I have tried. I have taken off a lippy for that. I would probably not buy this again.

I love Philosophy and it's mainly because of their 3-in-1's. I have been longing for this scent, and I received this as an extra in a swap. I was beyond thrilled! LOL This smells exactly as you'd imagine. The scent just doesn't last after the shower which is a bummer. I only use the 3-in-1's as shower gels so I'm not sure how they perform on the hair. This is another winner for Philosophy.

Overly sweet, and doesn't remind me of red velvet. You do get the rich lather though!

I really give Philosophy credit for trying to bottle the scent of Red Velvet Cake. To me, this gel smells like a Red Velvet Tootsie Pop. I don't know if it is just my imagination, but I think this particular gel is less moisturizing than others. It lathers just as well, but my skin never felt quite as good. I also did not find it cleaned as well, so I ended up using my regular Dove soap and using this to shave my legs. All in all, I was disappointed in this gel, and will not repurchase. The smell also kind of made me sick after awhile.

I received a bunch of various small bottles of 3-in-1's as a gift for Christmas. The Red Velvet Cake smells like cherries and chocolate. Yum! Great scent.
It kind of takes a lot of product in order to get a good lather (compared to bar soap, which I usually use). It cleans adequately, but I don't notice extra moisture. I only use it as a body wash. My regular soap cleans great and lasts a lot longer for a lot less money, so I'm sticking with that.

This is my favorite 3-in-1! Smells so yummy, with a perfect balance of chocolate, cherry, and cake scents. Pure chocolate scents give me an instant headache, but Red Velvet Cake is just heavenly! The scent doesn't last on your skin after the shower, but that's OK with me. It foams up great and doesn't overdry my skin (I've never used it as a hair shampoo, so I can't comment on that). Love it!

Like most other Philosophy 3-in-1s this smells soooo yummy, you'll want to eat it. Unfortunately, you can't - and it's not good for much else either. I'm giving it two lippies for the scent and because it seems just a tad richer and slightly more moisturizing as a shower gel than other Philosophy 3-in-1s I've tried (e.g., Senorita Margarita). But overall this product is a disappointment. Terrible as a bubble bath - the bubbles evaporate before you even get into the tub, does nothing to soften the water or even scent it. I wouldn't use this as shampoo - I think it would be way too harsh/stripping for my color-treated locks. Gotta give Philosophy credit for great scents though. I don't know what authentic Red Velvet Cake smells like, but this also smells like Black Forest Cake to me. Dark chocolate cherry. Mmm!

I received this with a gift card from Sephora. I would not have bought this for myself. I do not like the smell. It reminds me of what a friend of mine says some people's body odor smells like. I don't mean that in a good way either. Cinnamon and butts or Cinnamon butts. Like bad body odor and dirty butts.

I bought this at Sephora as a "cute" add-on for a holiday gift card. For $6 you got a little "cookbook" with a place to hold the gift card and a medium sized bottle of RVC 3-in-1.
Smells very fruity - moreso than the real cake does. I think my "secret Santa" will like it though.
