Honestly, this product does not deliver a closer shave or prevent in-growns or bumps. It makes the area feel smoother, which is nice but I actually have noticed it looks worse. As many other reviewers have noted, the packaging is also terrible. The product leaks out and it's very hard to squeeze out the right amount. I probably wouldn't buy again.

So when I get a bikini wax, I get what you call the "full bikini wax" a.k.a. a "Brazilian" wax. I'm a busy college student and I don't always have time to keep up my bikini waxes, and let's face it that can get expensive on a college budget.

This gel is much more expensive then other hair removal products, especially regular shaving cream/gels by brands like Skintimate or Gillette. A can of shaving cream is $1.99 for the former brand and $1.97 for the latter at my local Target. The bikini zone tube is almost $10.00 at Wal Mart for just 4 ounces. The cans of shaving cream are 7 ounces. However, paying more money for fewer ounces is practical in this case. This gel is designed for the bikini area.

If you try it you'll have substantially less bumps (if you're careful when shaving you'll have none at all). There is virtually no irritation, pain, or redness. Which is not the case with waxing. Also, a wax costs anywhere from $60.00 - $80.00. The hair stays off for about 5 weeks. You're pushing it at 6 weeks. So I hope now you see that this $10.00 tube really is affordable, even though it costs more money than standard shaving cream.

The only downside to this is shaving doesn't get to the root of the hair the way waxing does. So you might have to touch up every 3 days or so. Then again, I am very hairy, so this probably is not representative for everyone. The gel lathers up nicely when it comes into contact with water. The bottle boasts that the gel is transparent. That can actually be problematic when shaving because it's hard to tell if you got a particular spot. When you shaving loose hairs that were cut off already sometimes stick to your skin stubbornly and need to get scrubbed off. So be careful not to attack them with your razor, because as I said often times they are no longer attached to your skin.

If you are tired of paying to get a bikini wax, or you can't handle the pain DEFINITELY try this as an alternative. As a general pointer, trim before you shave. It'll make your job much faster and efficient.

I'm on my fourth bottle. This gel has made a HUGE difference as far as reducing irritations and ingrown hairs. I even use it on my underarms. I get even better results if I apply the gel first, then shave cream (Pure Silk). I also switched to a 4 blade razor recently and the combination is MAGIC.

I don't care what any label says, the only thing that will prevent or reduce ingrown hairs and bumps is exfoliation!
I love this as a shaving gel, I shave 'Brazilian' style and this gel lets me see what I'm doing, and I can make a couple of good passes without risking irritation or nicks. I don't care what any label says, the only thing that will prevent or reduce ingrown hairs and bumps is exfoliation! So I exfoliate in the shower before I shave and everyday after I shave, and I'm smooth as the day I was born without having to put my lady business in a stranger's face.

This product works pretty well. Still leaves occasional bumps, but not bad. You only need a little bit at a time, and it washes off easily.

I actually keep these stocked in my cabinet bc they seem to disappear off the shelves with the quickness where i live. I usually get waxed down there but sometimes im just not in the mood to have my precious belongings in anyones face besides hubby, so i reach for this at home and i have used this exclusively on my lower region for 3 years straight and have not had any irritation, ingrown hair or bumps like i got before using other brands and wasn't brave enough to deal with the pain from a brazilian wax. I do use veet for the other places of my body besides this part bc its to strong, So overall my hg for keeping my lower region bump free and after i use it i follow up with witch hazel to allieve any redness.

I got this, obliviously expecting some kind miraculous results, to the extent that I could actually get a smooth, clean shave and not develop one single razor bump. Let me assure you, that will by no means happen. Yes, the gel is nice and creamy, although I'm not sure what the beads are there to accomplish. Normally exfoliating is done before shaving, not during, but that's beside the point. I really don't think this gel did anything besides kill my high hopes of finding a product that would 100% fully prevent razor burn.

I agree with other reviews. This product is not perfect, but it's better than anything I've found so far. It's much better than other gels or shaving creams. It makes for a really smooth shave, it's super gentle so I don't worry about shaving such sensitive area, but like others have said, I still get the occasional bumps. It's worth a try though.

This is a clear, gel-like product to be used as a shaving gel for the bikini line.

I love that it's clear - I feel more confident while shaving and worry less about going around curves.

In terms of razor bumps, ingrown hairs, etc - it's better than the regular shaving creams I've tried. But, it's not fantastic - I still get bumps and ingrown hairs.

At first I thought this was awesome, because I shaved and had no red bumps at all. After 24 hours though, I got the same red bumps I always get-- I don't actually think this is any different than normal shaving cream or shave gel.

This shaving gel is fabulous! I always have a problem with redness and bumps on the bikini area and just happened to find this at Target so I bought it on a whim (not really having great expectations). I used it for the first time yesterday and am so impressed. I usually have irritation almost immediately after shaving and this time I had absolutely none. I didn't even have to use the bikini gel after shaving. My only gripe is the bottle. If you find yourself needing to reapply more shaving cream it's kind of a pain to keep opening and closing the bottle, and if you leave the cap off the hole on top is so big so the stuff oozes out. But the results are great, so I can live with the inconvenience!

I have an irrational hatred for foaming shaving cream and I need something better than soap when I shave or else I get razor burn. I was happy to find the Bikini Zone shave gel for this reason. It's intended (I think) for the bikini line but I use it for legs and underarms also. This shave gel was a lifesaver last summer by keeping me free of razor burn and ingrown hairs. It's just the right consistency and there's no overwhelming fragrance. I've only found it available in a small tube and wish they would provide a larger size so I don't have to repurchase as much. Still highly recommended.

I have went from waxing to shaving my bikini area and this is the BEST shaving gel I've found for that. It really has cut down on the bumps/irritation I have after shaving. Plus, it seems like a little goes a long way. I will definately buy again. BTW, after shaving I use the monistat anti-chaffing gel where I've shaved it and also REALLY helps cut down on bumps.
UPDATE: Okay, I knocked this down to 3 lippies, because I really hate the screw on cap, its a PITA when ur in the shower, trying to apply and put the cap back on so it doesn't leak out. Also, when I compared this to my skintimates...I had the same amount of irritation. Neither one was better than the other. So, it comes down to preference. I prefer the skintimate gel, its dispenser is just so much easier to work with and I can pick it up at my local grocery store--usually on sale! So, no I wouldn't buy this again, but if you're dying to try it then go ahead...its not an awful product but the packaging could sure use some improvement.

(The Cucumber Gel) I love this product! All the other shaving gels leave my legs dry and cracked, not this one. I can shave every day and it doesn't leave me dry at all. Then I use the Bikini Gel for my bikini area and that works well too! :)
Then I use the pink (sensitive skin) gel on my underarms and that leaves them also moisturized and nicely primed for deodorant. I buy them all the time and always make sure I have back up in the pantry!

Doesn't seem to do much of anything for me except make my bikini area a little more moisturized. I still got irritation, redness, and bumps. Not a bad shave gel just didn't do much special.

I've received free samples of this with purchase of Bikini Zone creme. Overall I like this shaving gel. It goes on easily and moisturizes and lubricates your skin so that you don't get nicks or bumps. However, I don't really *need* a shaving gel, since the razors I use have those moisturizing strips and built-in gel thingies, but I'd say this is as good as mainstream shaving gels such as Skintimate.

I bought the cucumber/melon version of this. It moisturizes so well it's just about impossible to nick yourself, and I like the plastic tube that doesn't rust in my shower. I got this for $2 on sale at CVS. Would definitely buy this again. I just love the scent.
