I absolutely love this product! I am no good at putting on liquid eyeliners, but this brush makes it soooooo easy! Some ppl complain that the brush is too stiff, but in my opinion that is what helps me apply it without messing up. As long as you angle it side ways and don't try to apply it from the very tip of the brush, it goes on great! the key is the shadow on the other side- fills it in and makes it look fantabulous! Besides looking great, it really does stay on all day! But it will still easily come off with my makeup remover. The only bad thing about this product is that it is a bit difficult to apply to my lower lash line and i can't use it in my waterline like i like... other than that I Love Love Love it!

As the previous reviews highlight, the application wand for this eyeliner is very hard to use. I agree that it is difficult to achieve a fluid line. However, if you have oily eyelids like myself, this eyeliner is a must! I have tried many eyeliners looking for something that would not smudge on the bottom of my eyes within a few hours of application. I was marginaly content with the Bobbi Brown eyegels, and even less with the Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencils. This eyeliner surpasses both products in terms of staying power. However, Im not a fan of the Shadow part of the eyeliner, as when I smooth it over the eyeliner, the shadow will fall and smudge to my lower lids. Nevertheless, anyone that has oily eyelids should definitely try this product.

You have to work really hard to this on, it is possible but just barely (once you get it on though it looks pretty good, the black pigment is really intense). That being said, the eyeliner is hard draw on smoothly, the tip is too fat/fuzzy/felty which amplifies all the micro-movements of your arm so you get a bunch of little bumps in your eyeliner, if you try to fix it with the power end its impossible to controll the width so you just make it worse...but if youre really careful, you can get away with it.

Hmm- I admit I often feel guilty giving negative reviews, but I have to be honest- this product left me disappointed. I bought it in Sephora, where it had been recommended to me by one of the girls that work there (and it turns out, she was a Tarte representative, so now I know why she recommended it...)
I am skilled at putting on liquid liner- I use it every day to achieve the old-fashioned cat-eye look. So I like liners that can help me achieve that look- this liner, however, does not. The applicator is a felt-tip, but it is very, very stiff. It invariably "skips" when I'm trying to apply a line, and it doesn't hold enough fluid, so I have to keep re-dipping, or try to really tilt the applicator to get the fluid on the edges; this, however, this doesn't help with accuracy. It would seem that the product is intended for people that prefer a very thin, precise line, or people trying to create a smokey look (which the dry applicator on the other end of the wand is for), so maybe this product just was not for me and my tastes.
Speaking of the dry applicator on the other end of the wand, it is sort of like a felt crayon (if that makes sense?) Like, it has some color to it even if you haven't added any of the liner fluid to it. So that is really helpful for smudging. The thing is (and someone mentioned this)- the fluid liner rubs off easily when trying to apply more of it or trying to smudge it with the "smudger".
This might have been a fluke, but my packaging cracked too somehow. So the end of the wand with the "smudger" doesn't close well now because it got cracked. So maybe I had been unintentionally rough with it, but I just thought I would mention that anyway.
That said, I could have returned this product to Sephora, but I decided not to because 1) the color is a really nice, intense black (on me, it appears to dry shiny, but I don't mind too much) 2) it is very long-wearing (as long as one doesn't touch it!) 3) I carry it around in my purse for touch-ups- I love it for that because the felt-tip applicator, being stiff and fine, is very precise for this!!!

I really like the idea of this as one reviewer said. I'm quite impressed by how the liner comes off so easily when I remove my makeup at night. This combo is perfect for smokey eyes. The only thing I dislike is that I wish it were cheaper, and came in more colors.

I loved the concept of this. But the liquid side is a total disaster. The tip on the applicator is awful. Mine bent and got all out of shape after two weeks, and now it's impossible to apply it anywhere near even.

The shadow is perfect for creating smoky eyes, as is the smudger it dispenses from.
The liner on the (literal) flipside however - what a shame! The felt tip dries up within seconds, making application a pain. Adding a fluid, consistant line is nearly impossible with it. Adding insult to injury, this liner will rub off if you attempt to go over it with an additional coat.
In all honesty, Prestige makes $5.00 felt tip liquid liner which is far superior.
I love the rich, intense shade of the black liner, but it lacks the quality I expect from a $22.00 designer product.
If you're a luxury product junkie like I am, spend an extra $6.00 and get Dior's liquid liner. It's just as dark, but with quality that justifies the expense.

This is a great product, both for a makeup artist and for a consumer. It is black as black can be, which is a must for my needs. I can't stand black that turns silver upon blending...
Both the liquid liner (which is similar to the Blinc liquid liner - tubing type) and the shadow are fantastic and very wearable. No smudging and it doesn't come off until you want to take it off.

I recently purchased this eyeshadow/liner duet a few weeks ago. I was looking for a good liquid eyeliner and a SA at Sephora reccommended that I try it. This is my first Tarte purchase. I was very impressed with the packaging. It is small and easily fits into my purse make-up bag. It has two parts: a liquid eyeliner and and a powder eyeshadow. I got the black. This perfect if you are like me and many days finish your make-up in the car. The liner is user friendly and the shadow smudges the line perfectly to erase any mistakes. My smoky eyes look perfect each time with this product. It is hard to make a mistake. When I don't have a lot to time to do my face, I use this for my eyes to give a very finished look. I don't remember the exact cost, I think it was $22. I will definitely purchase again when I run out.

I just purchased this eyeliner, and it looks like it's going to be my HG already! It truly does last all day, without smudging a bit. It's very easy to apply. I love intensity of the color (I bought the black one). It is expensive, but it's worth the money in my opinion. I will re-purchase this product again in the future.

I've only been using this for a week, but so far it's worked really well for me. I had previously been a mac black cake liner with brush kind of girl, and always hated the liquid liners because the brush was always too flexible and did not provide enough control. The brush on Tarte's is a little firmer and let's me make a super thin line right at the lash line. And the fact that it doesn't really come off all day is more than enough to make up for the fact that it dries pretty quickly and doesn't budge when you want to fix it. The "smudge" powder liner part has a foam applicator that seems more appropriate as an eye shadow applicator. I only use the very end tip to go over the liquid line during the day. At night I actually go over the line with a cake liner and brush to make it even more dramatic. I'm really hoping that the consistency stays the same and doesn't dry up in the bottle like a previous reviewer has described.
I guess we'll have to wait and see if an edit to this review is needed!

This is a great concept--liquid liner and then a powdered liner to cover mistakes/set in the liquid liner. The powdered liner tip works well and I now use it with another liquid liner, however, the liquid liner itself is a horrible product. Within a week of usage, it started clumping in the packaging and it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to make a nice, thin line without coating all of my lashes with the product. Also, it skips like crazy and I always have to go over the line over and over again. The applicator is horrible, even Maybelline's liquid liner that costs 1/4 the price of this one applies way better. The powdered liner tip is a little awkward and it took awhile for it to start working for me but that is probably the only reason why I gave this a 2/5 instead of 1/5. I will continue to use the powdered liner part, but most likely won't use the liquid part again. As for the product, it was expensive and definitely not worth the price. I now use an Almay liquid liner, which makes a nice thin line in one stroke...never buying this again.

I have always been a little wary of liquid liners and this is the first that I have used in at least 7 years or so, and I'm happy to say that I love it! I got it in brown, and I think they must have changed the color of it or something, because the brown I have is a very very deep brown that is almost black, but I was in Sephora yesterday and swatched the brown on my hand and it was a much lighter brown than what I have. Anyway, this liner is basically impossible to smudge or smear once it has set on your eyes. The formula is such that when it dries down it is "sealed" on your eyes and won't come off until you wash your face, and when you do it kind of comes off in strips - a little difficult to describe but once you try it out you will know what I mean. On the day I bought this I already had makeup on so I didn't get a chance to put it on my eyes, so I tested out the color by swiping a tiny dash on the back of my hand. I put it on in the afternoon and that dash was still there at midnight and looked exactly the same as it did when I put it on. I was so shocked, and started rubbing at it and was delighted to see that it still stayed exactly the same! It later came off VERY easily with just a little Dove soap. This liner is perfect for pairing with eye makeup, but is a little harsh for using on its own, and if I'm only planning on using liner on my eyes that day I will turn to gel liners for that. I don't really use the smudging end, but the few times I have used it, it seemed to do whatever its supposed to do :) It's a little expensive though, at $22.

This is my favorite eyeliner ... ever!!! I go for a dramatic dark line right above my eyelashes (and then lots of mascara!) even if I don't wear any eyeshadow. I love the felt tip applicator, makes way smoother lines than a brush. I rarely use the smudge/shadow end of the liner, because I just draw those straight lines so often, it's habit now and I don't blend the line, just leave it dark and straight. I apply it early in the morning and it stays in place (and never smudges) and looks perfect at bedtime (which is about 1am!). So, this is a great liner to use for dramatic black lines! Washes off easily, as well! SO good!

Well i like the concept of this because the shadow in the cap is a cream to powder that really does correct liner blunders. It's an amazing formula because it blends in so well on top of the liner and both the liner and shadow lasts all day. Now heres the bad part- the liner sucks. I hate the applicator because it's very difficult to work with, it's stiff and it skips. It was impossible to make a nice thin even line! I wish the applicator was different because then this would be a good product. I have been makeupartist for almost a decade and even I can't get this to work. It's going back to sephora!!!!!!

Indelible Wink is a terrible eyeliner product. First, it does not go on soooooo smooth. As it dries, it shrivels up the skin around your eyes, making them look incredibly tired, haggered, and much older than they are. The shadow part of the liner is such an odd shape, it makes correct placement of product impossible. Another Tart DISASTER!

I absolutely love this stuff! I have to disagree with the reviewer who said the brush is too thick, it's is very thin and you can use the side if you want a heavier line. I usually put it on at about 5am when getting ready for work and don't wash it off until approx. 9pm. Even after 16 hours it is still there and I don't need a lot of effort to remove it. I use my usual eye makeup remover pads and voila - all gone.
The shadow on the opposite end of the liner brush helps to set it wonderfully. It is a little pricy, but for the ease and wearability it is worth it.

I am in love with this product! I won't go into the function of this item since thebeautyjunkie did such a great job describing it below. However, I will say that both the black & brown colors are so deep and dark. I love that I can use this item for the daytime by smudging the liquid liner with the shadow to soften up my look & for nighttime by drawing a thick line of liquid and letting it dry. It stays on forever and it's very useful for those who can't seem to perfect their liquid eyelining abilities.

Tarte Indelible Wink is a liquid eyeliner with a shadow smudger on the other end. It retails for $22 and is available in black and brown.
I never imagined my everyday eyeliner would be a liquid eyeliner, every other liquid eyeliner I have tried is hard to apply and I will inevitably mess up and have to go back with a q-tip to fix it. This eyeliner is super easy to apply! The tip is stiff enough that it is very easy to control but flexible enough that you can vary the thickness of the line. I can make a thin line right above my lashline easier with this than I can with a pencil eyeliner. And it's no big deal if you mess up, just flip it and smudge and no one will know the difference! What I really like about this is you can get a soft, smudged, pencil eyeliner look for everyday with the shadow smudger, or you can go dramatic and wing out your liner, all with one product! The lasting power is fabulous, it looked the same 12 hours later as it had when I applied. The black is a nice dark, inky black, the brown is darker than I expected, almost black, but still nice nonetheless. I think $22 might be considered pricey, but in my opinion it is worth that, especially since you are essentially getting 2 types of eyeliner in one. Highly recommended product, I will definitely be repurchasing!
