This is an extraordinarily mild, gentle cleanser. If you're used to cleansers that foam or lather with water, you might be taken aback by this product since it has the consistency of a thick cream or lotion and doesn't react to water. However, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, like you might expect a cream to do. If I take off my foundation with a warm washcloth, a dollop half the size of a pea is enough to cover my face lightly and remove whatever makeup remains. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean, and doesn't disrupt my skin's natural oil production. This is critical, since I have acne-prone combination skin with dry patches it makes my skin neither oily nor dry, and I use it twice daily. It comes in a generous 170 g tube, so its value mediates its price (around $13). It also smells divine, like a long-lost German fruit candy I once tried! This cleanser has become a staple in my skincare routine.

I purchased it because I wanted to try the natural face cleaner without harsh chemicals. But I discovered that it doesn't clean my face. All my makeup was on the cotton round when I applied the toner! The menthol cools down you skin and makes you think that your face is clean when in fact it is not. Also, the menthol irritates my eyes. I wouldn't purchase it again.

After doing some research I have seen some really good reviews on Burt's Bees products so I thought I would try some of their face products as my skin is so hard to please! I have oily skin and after trying so many anti-blemish face cleansers and wasting so much money on them for no visible improvements I thought I might as well try Burt's Bees!

The cleanser itself is a cream and smells LOVELY! You don't need to use much and it's so soft on the skin. I found it took both makeup and eye makeup off where some other cleansers don't. It makes your face feel really fresh and clean and as it's in a cream it doesn't dry your skin out!

It's one of the best face washes I have used in a while and my skin has cleared up in the week that I have been using it.

I love the tingling feeling this gives and the lemony scent. It works best on dry or damp skin as it doesn't clean as well when I use it in the shower. You have to really work it in to feel fully clean. It does shrink pores temporarily for me and keeps breakouts from forming. It is not my favorite of all the Burt's Bees facial cleansers I have tried but it has some redeeming qualities. It is surprisingly gentle on my skin and leaves my skin less oily. It might work out better for me in the winter and i will consider using it as my morning cleanser for now until I can find something better.

This cleanser is amazing! I have very oily/acne prone skin with some dry spots, and this cleanser helps a lot! I've tried a lot of expensive brand soaps and cleansers, but none of them wowed me like this one does. It cleanses leaving skin feeling clean, but also moisturizes (I didn't even know cleansers could do that!). It's helped with my redness and acne scars, and overall makes my face look brighter. It smells fantastic and is a great price for such a large amount of product. I would suggest taking off your makeup with a makeup remover or towelette before using this, but afterwards it works like a charm!

HG cleanser. Been using for over a year, and it's the first cleanser I've ever loved. My pores look smaller after using this, and it perks my face up really well in the morning.

I love the scent of this product. The lemony-clean fragrance runs through my nostrils down to my throat and really wakes me up. I have to make sure to exfoliate my face at least once or twice a week while using this product because it never makes my face feel as clean as I'd like, but I still love it. Would I repurchase? Probably not. I'd love to find a product that truly deep cleans in the shower so I will continue looking for just that.

I first bought this in 2009 when I began my paraben-free kick. I return to this cleanser often because there are so many things I love about it.
It smells amazing. I love the lemony-menthol smell! It's super refreshing and definitely reduces stress.
Its nice and thick; a little goes a very long way!
It doesn't dry my face out, it feels clean AND moisturized. Didn't know that was even possible before the discovery of this product!
THE TINGLES! *gush* It tingles SO good!
My only gripe about this product is that it doesn't exfoliate. I dont need it to be a full-on scrub, but it would be nice if it assisted in the sloughing of dead skin. I have very unevenly textured skin, and I feel just a bumpy coming out of the shower as I did going in. Being a picker, I cannot have this.
BUT I will often use this after a good sugar scrub as a wonderful skin refresher. Leaves me dewy and happy. ^_^

Oh my goodness, you guys, this stuff. This is my ride-or-die, one and only facial cleanser. I've really been trying to go as cruelty-free, environmentally-conscious as possible lately, and it all started with this. This stuff proves that a facial cleanser doesn't need a lot of harsh and/or synthetic chemicals to get the job done - the only times I've EVER had blackheads since I started using this product are when I go on vacation, travel, etc. and forget to use it.

For me, the best part is that my skin feels instantly softer, smoother, and all-around happier after using it. There's none of that dry, tight feeling that I used to associate with having a clean face - this product makes washing my face an actual pleasure, both during and after the fact. Even on days when I don't wear makeup, it does a fantastic job of removing the day's dirt and grime, and basically hitting my skin's "reset" button; so much so that I can almost hear individual pores giving little "ahhhh"s of relief. It gives a wonderfully soothing, cooling, almost tingly sensation, and smells just the same. (If something ever smelled tingly, this does.)

Of course, it's only my HG facial cleanser as far as face and lip makeup removal and general cleansing go. I use a separate remover for eye makeup, as I have found this stuff to be kinda irritating if it gets in one's eyes. Also, it's not the cheapest thing in my makeup routine, but for 97% organic and cruelty-free, I'm willing to spend a couple of extra bucks. And given that each bottle lasts for months (a line from my middle knuckle to my fingertip is enough to cover my whole face), it's a steal for the quality.

- Pleasant scent, ditto for feel on the skin
- I really do feel like my skin is being refreshed, not stripped
- Wonderful clean feeling (and not squeaky-clean, either)
- Easy to find in most drugstores
- Excellent price

- Irritating if it gets into your eyes
- Doesn't foam like many cleansers - if this is something you associate with facial cleansing, this might leave you feeling a little let down

Disclaimer(s): My skin has been pretty calm in general for the past few years, so I don't have much data on how it deals with really epic oiliness, dry patches, etc. I also favor fairly light makeup, so while this product does a fantastic job of removing BB cream, lipstick, and maybe a little blush, I don't know how it would handle any really heavy-duty foundation or similar.

I initially liked the product because I like that clean and fresh, almost tingly feeling it gives your face. But after a few months of use it just doesn't clean my face well. I feel as if I have to wash my face at least 3 times to get everything off my face -makeup, oil, sunscreen etc.
I put 2 lipsticks for the packaging because mold grows around the cap. This didn't just happen to mine but my sister's one as well.
Overall, it o.k.
