I got a rather large sample as a gift from Sephora and everything is perfect about it.
The sifter opens and closes so you control how much product comes out and when! It leaves a beautiful luminance and it's tinted which means no white cast for photos. Definitely will repurchase once I run out! This is way better than banana powder which I purchased around the same time. Banana powder dulls me out and makes me look chalky but this is divine perfection!

I'm reviewing the Cover FX Matte setting powder (which i suspect is different to other people's reviews because mine has none of the sheen or dewiness that they reported...)

I have quite oily skin so the Sephora SA recommended this in 'medium' to me claiming i would love it. And i wanted to love it, but sadly i can't. First of all, the colour is all wrong on me (NC25, Bourjois 52-53, Nars Sheer Matte in Punjab) - its a little too dark and looks 'dirty' and ashy on my skin. It doesn't give me any sort of radiance or healthy glow, not even when it wears into my skin.

So disappointing! I'll try to use it in the summer months when my skin is a little darker but i would not repurchase because it's not worth the money and there are loads of drugstore products that work better for me :(

I really like this setting powder. It's not chalky at all, and leaves a very pretty luminous finnish. A little goes a long way. And you can put a product over the powder if needed and it will stay as is. Won't cake up at all. I have repurchased this item many times.

I love this setting powder. It is so light and sheer with a touch of sheen. I found that a little goes a long way with this powder otherwise it can make you look white as a ghost. I lightly will touch my brush into the powder tap of the access and quickly dust my face and that is all you need. It sets up my foundation for a long lasting finish. Love it!

I had the opportunity to upgrade some of my makeup (mostly cheap department store stuff) and the cosmetician recommended Cover-FX. I was not happy with it all. It was far too light - it seemed to accentuate the dark circles under my eyes! I looked pale/sickly, like a ghost, and by midday my face also looked shiny and oily. Ugh. My 6$ covergirl powder is 10 times better than this 32$ product.

The only way this product might work is if you had a really thick, heavy foundation underneath. But even then I can't see how the 6$ Covergirl wouldn't do better than this.

Needed to follow Cover FX foundation. Best application process: roll your brush across the skin in short stokes the diameter of the brush. Afterwards you can BUFF the powder into the skin with your brush for a nice sheen or glow. I wouldn't buy this individually to use as a powder, but I find it did set the Cover FX foundation nicely.

When I bought my Cover FX Cream Foundation(which I hated) I was told to buy this to set it with. Once this is opened the powder is EVERYWHERE. It's so messy. It only comes in 2 colors & it made me look like a cakey white ghost when I set the foundation with it. I was disappoint in the Cover FX items I bought.

I bought two other loose powders before but none compare to this. I loooove how dewey it makes my skin look (which I can see how some girls can hate) and i love how my makeup lasts all day. I do not like the price but I'm pretty sure it'll last me all year. Love the stuff!

I got this in a swap, and am SO glad that I didn't pay for it! First, you can save a LOT of money by just going out and buying the Coty Airpsun Luminous Translucent loose powder for $6.99! This product is $32 at Sephora. The effect of this ends up giving you this weird Twilight vampire shimmer. While I can appreciate some hot boys with this look on the silver screen, it isn't so much the look I'm going for to settle my liquid foundation. Not only this, but it broke my nose out after wearing it for just one day! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!

I purchased this product a while ago to set the cream concealer foundation from cover fx as well. The product didn't last long in any ways. After 1 or maybe 2 hours my face would already become extremely shiny. Perhaps this is not right for very oily skin. I thought maybe because I was applying too much foundation, so I minimize my foundation application. Nothing changed for the better. Although this didn't work for me, I found that this powder gives you a natural-glow-look (it won't give you a too matte look) in the first application unlike many other setting powders.

If you take a look at the ingredients, you'll realize that Mica and Silica make up the majority of this product. Surely you've had experiences with both... mica being the reflective property in many liquid and mineral foundations, silica being that magical, slippery MUFE powder.

Could you imagine setting your foundation with a shimmery version of HD powder? If not, probably safe to stay away, although I'll count myself in the group that will be pleasantly surprised by Setting FX. Even though my oily skin isn't, on paper, a good candidate for a shimmery setting powder, the mattifying effect silica has on my skin evens the playing field a bit. When I set my foundation, I roll Setting FX onto my skin with the side of my brush and then dust a light layer over to blend. What I get is a perfectly smooth, not oily, natural looking skin appearance. Because of the mica, I avoid that masky flatness that I get with some heavy duty oil control powders. Because of the silica, I get shine control and a soft-focus effect.

Packaging is basic. As with other Cover FX products I've used, the giant lid is great for swirling my brush into. I even use the covers for other powders that suffer tiny lids. Unfortunately the powder really spills out of the sifter too much. Tape up all but a few holes as soon as you buy this and you'll be set.

To be perfectly real, I don't ever want to be without Setting FX.

I have been a faithful Cover FX user since their launch. Their products are the only thing I can use and feel confident that my skin will react well. Every now and then I drift to another product. Usually a cheap drug store brand like Cover Girl that claims to be hypoallergenic and for sensitive skin types. After several days use of the cheaper brand and a face full of redness and spots I reach for my trusted Cover FX products. The setting powder is a miracle to me. It sets my Cover FX foundation all day and provides a smooth and clear complexion. It's soft as silk and makes my face luminous It's never caused a . I also love the fact it diminishes dark or enlarged pores. I applied it to half of my face and showed my friend the difference, she was so impressed she bought a jar of it that very day. The price of this stuff is what makes me reach for cheaper brands, but I always faithfully return. The only downside is the price, and I wish the jar was bigger for the amount your paying. But....... it lasts forever, and it works.

I have this in light, as I have a very fair complexion. I was so pleased that it was not too dark, as I usually have to order my foundation special as I am so fair. It sets beautifully and lasts all day. The only caution I give is do not apply it over bare naturals blush it vintage peach - it combines to make a bronze powder (I know, wtf right?). It lasts all day long. A little goes a long way!

I purchased this from Sephora for $8, I thought great deal and it is if you like it but even for $8 I would'nt keep it. This review is for the "Light" shade, it gives you a ethereal vampire look, a very pale white glowing look. I'm fair/light but you need to be possibly white sheet white for this look natural. It is also the finish of this, it's chalky and settling and I'm light handed, so not just the shade is chakly white but the texture seems to be as well.

I bought this powder when I went to Sephora to return the MUFE microfinish HD powder. The sales associate showed me this and gave me a sample to try along with MUFE Matte +. I used the sample for a week to set both my NARS Sheer Matte and the MUFE Matte +. I received compliments on my complexion each day and I was happy that my make up stayed pretty all day. I returned to Sephora and purchased the full size. I must say I do like this powder a lot especially b/c I don't break out using it.
Only 2 (sorta) negatives: I think it's a bit expensive and I sometimes end up getting too much product b/c a lot comes up when you shake the container.
If anyone can tell me how to get just a little product through the sifter, please let me know.
Overall I'm happy and I will purchase again ... unless I find something better.

The only problem with the product is the price - but a little goes a long way. It would also be nice if it was pressed, so i can take it with me. I bought the matte FX in fair and medium with an intention to take it everywhere i go, but i end up forgetting and only using this loose powder in the morning. It does wonders! sets my MUFE foundation so well, even better than the HD loose powder, which I also own. Like I said, the only problem is the ridiculous price the FX come in. Although, like I said, it will probably last me forever.

I'm not a powder girl. At all. I've tried various powders from compacts (when I was younger and oily) to Bare Minerals (when I got old and dry, as I am now).
The Bare Minerals was horrific. I looked like dried out cake batter.
However, I got this in a kit with the instructional dvd, a brush and the primer which go hand-in-hand with the cream foundation (I have another very happy review on that).
You need a very, very, very, very light touch with this because, as instructed, a little goes a long way. Spectical as I may be, I followed instructions, was not expecting anything great and was extremely surprised. Not pasty. Not floury. Just leaves a nice finish and sets my makeup all day. Very pleased--it even makes me look younger--how good is THAT?

I got this product on sale. It was a very reasonable price.
This powder sits on the skin quite well and does not give "the powdery look". It works quite well in setting the make-up.

The only con of this product is the packaging. It is not travel-friendly.
