Released in Guerlain's 2006 holiday collection, Charme d'Ambre is a limited edition KissKiss lipstick. It retailed for $26/3.5g, which is about standard for high-end lipsticks. I bought mine for a song online, but would have happily paid the full retail.
Colour-wise, it is a gorgeous, warm rosey-beigey-mauvey-MLBB with gold shimmer. The shimmer is pretty obvious but not OTT, almost a nice gold sheen - it stays on the lip after the colour has worn off. I bought Reve d'Or in the same haul, and I like this better - it's less pink, more beige, with more subdued shimmer. The texture is the same as the other shimmery KissKiss lipsticks I have tried, nongritty and nondrying but it lasts pretty well on me. I plan on wearing this one quite a bit - it's casual but polished and pretty!
Scent is Guerlain-y - sweetish, lingers for a bit but not intensely strong. Packaging is gorgeous and luxe, deep red chrome - I wish Guerlain would revamp the line and redo them all like this! Totally gorgeous lipstick, it's going straight into my HG list!
I am a NC25 (Studio Fix), 30 (Chanel), 2 (MUFE Face & Body) OC02/03 (Lunasol Intellectual Powder foundation) AAB.
Compared to Reve d'Or in tube
Swatched: Mango Shine, Charme d'Ambre, Reve d'Or, Sexy Tango
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Brunette Eyes: Brown
This color on its own really washed out my PPP coloring. I've struggled to pair to with the right lipliner. It is more rosey than reddish and really the look didn't come together until I paired it with a subdued reddish lipliner. The packaging is lovely, the red metallic case is like a work of art! If I bought this again, it would be in another color though.

Charme D'Ambre is everything the reviewer before me said. Its a gorgeous rose colour with a lot of bronze shot through it so it looks metallic in the tube. It goes on pretty sheer. The packaging is also a beautiful shade of burgundy.

Charme d'Ambre is part of the limited edition 2006 Holiday collection and the traditional KissKiss gold packaging is metallic RED for this relesase. Very beautiful!
7/10 - it has nice coverage but isn't 100% opaque. It also isn't thick or heavy-looking, meaning that when it's applied in full layers it doesn't look 'gloopy'.
3/10 - it's lightweight. moreso than other lipsticks. I think there's silicone in the formula because it feels featherlight on my lips, even with two layers.
Velvety with a golden-pearl finish. It *doesn't* produce a glossy finish.
5.5/10. It's pretty middle of the road in color and intensity. Medium depth, though the pearl finish will lighten it up a bit. It has a warm rose base, and it's warmed up a bit further with the golden sheen. The undertone of this shade is similar to the *applied* color of Nars Mounia blush or a richer, shimmery version of Revlon Super Lustrous gloss in Cherries in the Glow. When compared to my bronzed peach or coral colors, Charme d'Ambre is more rose than amber. The orange factor is low and I would consider this shade to be neutral, but there is warmth overall to this rose shade. If you can wear brown-based pinks and roses or roses with some warmth, I'd recommend this one.
Violets. Well, it *is* Guerlain. ;)
Since it is a limited edition shade, I don't know if I'll repurchase but the color is definitely recommended.
