Summary: I wish this pencil was available in a blackish grey shade. I have very dark brown hair, and my eyebrows appear almost black, so stud being a brown shade looks slightly unnatural. The formula is nice, it's pigmented and lasts a long time. I'm not fond of the packaging, although it's easy to travel with because it's thin, the pencil itself is so thin it takes a very precise hand and a light one as well.
Overall Verdict: Though it's a decent pencil, I will not be repurchasing it because there are much better pencils available (my current favorite is the Lioele Auto Eyebrow).

For some reason I kept re-purchasing this eyebrow pencil at Mac every time I ran out of it. I have thick eyebrows, I brush them upwards (like runway model brows) and I like the use some pencil where my brows are sparse. First of all, this isn't even the right shade for me, but yet it is the darkest eyebrow pencil that Mac has. I am NC15 with very dark brunette hair, not quite black, but dark. This eyebrow pencil stood out in my eyebrows and did not blend nicely. Furthermore, this pencil has NO staying power. All seasons around, this eyebrow pencil doesn't last more than a few hours before you need to use it again. I switched to Chanel's eyebrow pencil, which was only $5 more, and they have my colour (it's like a soft black) and the staying power is AMAZING for the Chanel one. Also, a tip, don't use Mac's eyebrow gel, it's awful! Use Anastasia's, it can be found at Sephora. As much as I love Mac, their eyebrow products suck!

LOVE THIS. Repurchased this so many times, its great.
However, there are a few cons.
- Runs out after a month or two.
- Non retractable
- Slightly on the pricey side.
But doesn't smudge, sleek packaging and I like it!

I originally bought Spiked and I still use it. I decided to order Stud one day just because I'm a pj. I used Spiked to fill in my brows but I find that Stud shows better on my darkskin for the tail of my brow that I draw in. It looks perfect. Sometimes I'll use for the bottom of my brows using short light strokes. It is a dark color so if you're not careful you get the drawn on eyebrow look.

I love this thing. It's the perfect colour for me, quite a good price, too! Gives you lovely, natural looking eyebrows. I just use it to fill in sparse areas.

I wear this eyebrow pencil in spiked. I love it easy easy to use and does a good job of defining brows. It's a bit pricey but you can recycle your empty container and save them up to get a free eyeshadow or lipgloss or lipstick from mac

I love love love this eyebrow pencil however the price makes me think twice about buying it again. £11 is not to bad but i seem to be using this pencil so fast as i really like super defined dark eyebrows (think Kim K) and in order to get this i have to use loads of pencil and an angle brush.
I have not used many eyebrow pencils so i cannot compare but have used brow zing zings from benefit which lasted me a year however does achieve the nice polished look the pencil does, Have heard excellent things about Rimmel's eye pencil so will try that next time however doubt it will give me the beautiful finish this pencil does. If thats the case looks like im going to be seriously hooked on this eye pencil.

I love this product! It's self-sharpening which is great, and the formula is not too soft or too hard, so if I apply too much, I just use a firm finger and press and brush to get rid of excess product. I only wished it lasted a bit longer (perhaps it's because of my bangs partially covering them) and that the tip wouldn't fall off because I turnt the dial just a BIT too much! But overall nice product from MAC and I will repurchase.

I bought a very similar one from clinque for years I was at their counter looking for some concealer the color i used to use had been discontinued they only had shade suitable for white skin I was a little offended that they cancelled out the darker colours so thought i would switch to mac this one is actually better than the clinique as it is slightly less creamy and therefore applies a little more natually, more feathered than coloured in and does not smudge i only bought the clinique one as i did not want everything i used to be from MAC but at least everything matches now so im happy to eave clinique behind. I wil always love MAC for their wide colour selections that make everbody feel included its not nice visiting brands that you cant buy from because they dont see your skin tone as a viable market worth catering for viva la MAC!!

So I have gone through over 8 of these!! When my eyebrows were sparse, I would use this to fill in my entire eyebrow, but found it to be somewhat unnatural looking. Since then, I have discovered that the best way to use this product is to couple it with a powder. Let me explain - I will use a powder (ex. Mac's espresso eyeshadow) to fill in the 'thicker' part of my brows, aka the beginning of the arch. Then, I'll use this pencil to draw the arch itself (so that I can gain more control of the shape) and the 'tip' of the arch (because I like that part to be thinner). It definitely takes some practice to get the shape right, but this is an amazing product to do what I listed!! Also, when using the method I've mentioned, this product lasts FOREVER when used everyday!!

My HG eyebrow pencil. Some eyebrow pencils are too waxy and hard, which makes them painful to apply (such as the Napoleon Perdis eyebrow pencils), but this one is great. Always easy to apply, always sharp, nice and thin packaging and lasts forever. Great colour, will definately repurchase!

This product has no cons at all for me. It matches my brow color, has great pigmentation, doesn't smudge, stays all day.
Love this product and will buy for the rest of my life.

LOVE! The pencil is thin and the tip is never dull, so it is great for precision. I use this every day, and one pencil lasts me about 1.5 months. It stays on all day, and does not smudge, and yet still easily removable at the end of the day. Love this product, and I've repurchased again and again and again...

I love love love this brow pencil. The shade matches my dark brown hair perfectly. Oddly enough, my brows are a bit darker than my natural hair color. I used other brow products in brown and it made my brows look abnormal and if I used black it was too dark.
Stud is such a nice color for gals with dark brown hair. I can get nicely arched brows and they stay put. The tip is very fine and a little goes a long way. I've had my pencil for over two months.
I agree with the other ladies comments on how you can't retract the product once it's dispensed. The pencil does have a clicking mechanism and you only need one or two clicks. The other drawback is you never know how much product is left since you can't dispense the whole pencil like a mechanical eyeliner and retract it back.
I've just ordered my second one and will continue to buy more.

overall a very good eyebrow pencil for filling in and for precision lining due to its thin size that is always pointed!
i have 2 cons though:
#1. there is a mechanism to pop the product out but there is no such thing to pull it back in! so be careful as for the amount of product you pop!
#2. it runs out fairly quickly for someone that uses it everyday and that is the main reason i stopped purchasing it considering that it is on the pricey side. for the same amount of money i bought stila's brow set (powder product) and i've been using it for almost two years now and i am not even half through.

I really like this product. It goes on great. I like the self sharpening pencil and the pencil is thin enough to be able to really make nice brows BUT I feel like it runs out to quickly!!
It's about $15 which isn't too bad but considering it barely lasts a month I don't think you get your moneys worth. I don't think I've ever used another MAC prduct that ran out so quickly. Also, it sometimes crumbles if you push it up too much or just in general (maybe because of temperature or something).
I will probably repurchase but I am going to look for something comparable that is a better value.
