Gorgeous black pearl. Was surprised as I thought it was going to be a pure black, but it is indeed a fine black pearl. Very pretty polish and the bottle and brush are superb. Great item. Black polish with a sophisticated subtle twist. Would recommend.

Best black nail polish I have found. Needs two coats, but with two it is a dark inky black. Plus Zoya polishes seem to last 4-5 days on my nails. One of my favorites right now!

Raven is a glossy opaque black with secret shimmer. It's my absolute favorite black with a great formula that is opaque in one coat (though I always use two) and wears well. The shimmer is really really subtle, but visible if you actually look. I love to wear it when I have shorter nails.

This is a beautiful black. It's so pretty and classy-looking, and I've never been a fan of black polish--I normally like a bit of color to it so I like really dark blues, purples, etc. But this is REALLY REALLY GORGEOUS. Color lasts about a week before beginning to chip if I use a good topcoat, though after the first usage, I find Zoya nail polish a little sticky and difficult to apply...

This polish left me underwhelmed, as the idea that i got from previous reviews was that it was basically perfect. In reality, it does go on very smoothly and have a wonderful, almost patent leather like, finish but i found that within a day of wearing it, it would chip.

While I may not be in love with black polish, this one is well worth the money. It goes on smooth and is amazingly opaque in just one coat. What's not to love about that?

Yep the gothic girl is going to review her beloved colour - BLACK!
Raven is a high quality, classy black polish. It is a strong, rich and glossy black that screams SEXY GOTH! Another classic polish by Zoya. The colour is very elegant and bold, similar to Chanel but for a fraction of the price.
2 coats creates a pure black and lasts over a week without signs of wear.
Raven, I very much luv thee xox

The quality of this product is well above the price!
Ladies and gents, if you are going to choose a black nail polish, choose Raven from Zoya!
I'm not even using top coat for it because it's so shiny and it doesn't chip! I'm definitely buying this again :D

Zoya Raven is a gorgeous deep black laced with fine silver shimmer. In certain lighting, the colour glows with blue, green and purple shimmer, but most of the time you see silver flecks. I never thought that a black could look so classy and groomed, until I put on Zoya Raven. This is such a flattering black that never looks harsh or dirty. I absolutely adore Raven and I will definitely be reaching for this colour a lot. When applied neatly, this looks amazing and really quite sophisticated. The consistency is thick and with the added advantage of loads of pigment, it covers perfectly in two coats. The formula dries to a high shine, but a layer of top coat makes this even glossier. This is just a beautiful black flecked with gorgeous shimmer that adds depth and dimension; it's just perfect.

What! I haven't reviewed this? While on a low-chemical beauty products kick I discovered Zoya polishes and fell head over heels in love. Listen, I'm 31 years old and I've self-identified as a goth since I was 17, so when I say I like a black polish, I know what I'm talking about: This is the only black that has not shown tip wear *at all* in a week. Pair Raven with Zoya's Anchor/Armor system and you're good to go, I swear. I'm never using another black. HOW is this only $6? Score!

This is my dupe of Chanel Black Satin; both are black np cremes with some silver in it. Except that Zoya is much cheaper, is big 3 free, and easily available.
It goes on more opaque than my China Glaze Liquid Leather, so it needs less coats to reach opaque. And I like how in the light you can see that Raven isn't just a flat black there are glints of silver in it too. Very pretty.

OK, so I was totally uninterested in Chanel and the whole Black Satin craze from last fall/winter (2006). Why pay that much money for what is essentially a black creme? Chanel's formula isn't even the best. But having said that, I was inexplicably dying to get my hands on Zoya Raven. I am really, really glad I finally got it, because it's a gorgeous black! It's rich, glossy, and quite a true black (unlike some black cremes which are more muted, blue- or grey-toned, or so black they look like vinyl). Plus, Raven has visible shimmer! The shimmer is really quite cool: it's very, very fine and most of it is dark silver/charcoal. Along with this, there is also some blue and dark pink shimmer, which is not too noticeable on the nail, but adds a lovely dimension to the polish.
My only complaint about Raven, which is also true for all the other Zoya colours I've tried, is that the formula is thick. Not goopy or clumpy, just thick. This makes it tricky to apply neatly, so I was concentrating pretty hard while applying, and still ended up getting some polish on my cuticles, etc. However, this same thickness makes Raven very opaque with just two coats, a feat that is rarely accomplished by other black nail polishes.
As for the wear, I used it with Orly Bonder base coat and Poshe fast dry top coat, and after 3 days, it's only showing the tiniest bit of tip wear. Not shabby at all for a dark colour. Overall, Raven is an excellent buy and I whole-heartedly recommend it.

I love that Zoya is funky-chemical-free, and appreciate having a black that is so. This has a pearly micro-shimmer that keeps it from being totally flat vinyl black, but it is still a deep true black - no messing around! I haven't seen the Chanel Black Satin to check for myself how close a dupe this is on the nail - the jury is out! But unto itself, this is a nice black that reflects nice shimmer in the sunlight (or...bathroom light!) Two coats give a nice lacquer finish, but I'm still on the wear test - one day and counting. I'll update if it's really disappointing (but I always have my hands in the kitchen sink, so I'm a tough test!)

As stated by reviewers below, this shade is a dupe for the very popular Chanel Black Satin USA version. It's a true black with just enough shimmer to keep it from being too harsh. Up close the polish resembles a black satin ribbon on the nail. I find it gorgeous whether it's trendy or not, and bought a backup against the day it's no longer the "in" color in case I can't find it any more. I opted to buy this over the Chanel because if I can find a dupe this good, I refuse to pay $18 for ANY polish. That said, I can't say what my second bottle will be like or what others have found, but my first bottle is a bit goopy and its slightly hard to get a nice thin coat. It's essential to get a thin coat on this one, because I use base and top coats from other brands and if I use too thick of a coat and use those I tend to get shrinkage causing artificial tip-wear. Overall, the wear and application of Zoyas, including this one is excellent, the formula is also very glossy. I have bought it again, and would continue to do so. I could buy a third bottle and still have less in it than I would have in a bottle of Chanel even at retail, not to mention ebay prices:)

All ZOYA polish is formulated to be worn with ZOYA Anchor basecoat and ZOYA Armor topcoat. If you use the basecoat, polish and topcoat the polish will last and last on natural nails!!!
FYI - ZOYA RAVEN is a match to Chanel Black Satin in both color last and hue!

What? No review of Raven yet? Weird. Maybe I just didn't find it. Either way my review will be brief. It is about IDENTICAL to Chanel Black Satin, a satin finish dark black nail polish with just a tiny bit of shimmer in it that gives it a perfect amount of depth. I love the color. But i give it 4 instead of the 5 i gave the Chanel b/c I have experience zero chipping with the Chanel even after 5 days of wear, and have experienced quite a bit of chipping with the Zoya. Hard to say whether i would purchase again. If i did not have access to the Chanel, I would indeed repurchase the zoya. So i gotta put no, but there are circumstances under which i would rebuy it.
