This cleanser is the best cleanser I have ever had. I have very sensitive skin which often can get red. The rice is very mild and I don't feel dried out when I wash. I use it only in the evening and then just use their rose water spray in the morning before I moisturize. You only need a small pea size to get a lather for the entire face. When I get to the bottom, I just cut off the tip to get it all out because I love it so much and want to get it all out. I definitely will buy this again, pricey to some however worth it !

Recently got a quite generous sample (1 oz) when I picked up some Just Skin at the Chante counter @ Neiman's in Tysons. This is an excellent cleanser that removes my makeup without inflaming the slight rosacea on my cheeks. It has slight granules from the rice, so it helps to exfoliate too. Love the scent. Took off one point because it is expensive.

This is a great cleanser, but it is also scary. Here's why:
The good:
It cleans very well. You only need a tiny dot on a fingertip and it will produce a face-worth of foam.
It has basically eradicated any problem I had with adult acne.
The bad:
It is really expensive. I am still working on a 1oz sample size that has lasted me 6 months, so it does last quite a long time, but I still can't justify spending that much on a face wash.
Chanticaille does not release ingredients to the public, on their site or elsewhere. When brands do that, I get angry and then suspicious.
The neither good nor bad:
it stings your eyes, so be careful. It's worth it, though. I am living in the delusion that my sample will last forever and I won't have to have the "you can't buy this" talk with myself.

I love this cleanser! It is gentle on my combination to oily skin while cleaning all the extra oil and makeup off my face. It is expensive but a little goes a long way. Definitely worth the money

Yes, it's expensive. However, I bought my little tube in August, and now 8 months later, I am only roughly half-way through the tube, having used it every day, at least once a day. This is super-concentrated stuff -- the teensiest dab lathers up beautifully and cleanses thoroughly. I anticipate purchasing a new one by August or so -- $58 for a year's worth of high quality cleanser? Not so bad. So really, while I will admit to having blanched at the price when purchasing, it isn't so expensive after all, especially when considering the quality of the product.
I have sensitive, combination skin, and this cleans without drying or irritating. The texture is luxurious, and I also really appreciate that it isn't heavily scented.
The cherry on top of it all is that the packaging is perfect: a simple tube, incredibly compact and light. I travel a lot, and this absolutely makes such a difference. Those enormous bottles that look beautiful in your bathroom, but leak everywhere and hoard tons of space and weight in your suitcase, are just not practical.
So, in every possible way, I love this product.

You certainly don't need to use very much to get a creamy lather with it and I admit that it seems to cleanse well ...BUT...on me it leaves a residue. One that clogged my skin up really badly after only 3 uses. It smells nice and feels luxurious while you're using it but I'm afraid it's not the ticket for my aging/ combo/ finicky skin. The worst thing is that this product reminds me of a Clinique Foaming Cleanser that I've had samples of in the past. It was the same deal. Skin felt squeaky clean when you were rinsing but had the same residue afterwards. Though I'm sure the Clinique one cost quite a bit less as well. Not happy with this one at all.

I received as sample of this and the Flower Harmonizing Cream (which I will review separately). This cleanser is quite good. A little goes a long way, you literally need a pea size amount and it lathers up well, taking off all my makeup and deep cleaning my skin. It definitely exfoliates gently as well. I think with this cleanser you could probably eliminate weekly or harsher exfoliating from your regime, as this really cleans the skin. It hasn't irritated my sensitive rosacea prone skin either. My only complaint (and reason why I had to give it only 4 out of 5 lippies) is that it's a tad drying. Mind you it is winter time and I find that I'm very dry during this time of year, so I would still buy this and use it maybe one or twice a week, and in the summer months when I'm oilier. This would be a fantastic cleanser for those with oily or acne prone skin, as it cleans and exfoliates wonderfully without irritation. My very sensitive skin was also fine with the natural fragrance of the product.

I received several samples of this with my last Chantecaille purchase, and I think I'm going to have to purchase it!
I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone, and one of my problems is lots of blackheads on the nose. The Rice and Geranium cleanser seems to sweep away some of the blackheads and clean out the pores while feeling very gentle and leaving the face refreshed. Just a little bit foams up well with water and cleans thoroughly, and then rinses off clean without leaving residue. I am also amazed that something without salicylic acid can clean out the gunk and oil so well.
This retails for $58USD for a 2.46oz tube, which is very expensive, but I think based upon the results, I will have to take the plunge!

I got this as a sample when buying chantecaille lipstick (which is incredible, by the way) and the only word I can use to describe it is, well, godsend. My skin is normal/dry and congested with stubborn blackheads. I used exolikate and I though it was really good, and then I found this. This cleanser is the ONLY product I have used that has even touched my blackheads, but as a matter of fact, it dissolved them! It didn't dry my skin out too much, nothing that a little creme de la mer couldn't fix, and my skin is not only smooth as a baby's bum but its glowing (!!) too and its radiant! It does work as an eyemakeup remover too, but I'm slightly hesitant to use it on my lashes because they are quite reactive and my naturally very long full lashes will break off if dried out. I think I'll just buy chantecaille's rose eye makeup remover and I'll rush out to buy this as soon as I can. Yes, its a little pricey, but you really do only need a teeny but and its cheaper than my exfolikate and works much better. Highly recommend :)

I very little amount of this cleanser takes everything off quite easily. It is gentle but can be drying if you use too much or don't rinse well. Lasts for months. Well worth the price. It doesn't really exfoilate but my skin really feels clean after this. I did use the rosewater after cleansing but I recently found organic bulgarian rosewater toner for a third of the price and it works great without the added parabens. The combination of the two is a winner for me.

This is such a fantastic clanser, I only wish it wasn't so expensive, I would make this my regular cleanser. It is gentle on the skin and leaves it squeaky clean. I also like the fact, that the rice grains, which act as exfoliant, are so finely milled that you don't even notice them in the texture, which is very smooth. Amazing product!

Very good claneser!
For a start , I love rinse-off clasners, and they must form foam or lather. This one does. So that's a good point for me!
The smell is gentle, and what I ilke it that with the tiniest amount (I mean a pea drop sized amount) your skin is left squeaky clean.
Same feeling as i get when using my regular Clinique foaming cleanser.
Cleans really well, removes makup properly, provided that you removed eye makup separately.
Unfortunately it is very expensive for a cleanser, but other than that , I'd repurchase again.

I think this is ok MAYBE for the right consumer. I love almost all Chantecaille but this was not suitable for me.
I did not buy it. It came as part of a set. I will not buy it myself.
Please do not let this review scare you away. This product like a lot of Chantecaille (but not all) does contain gluten. I have Celiac's so stupidly I wanted to try it sooo bad. So much Chante is so mild I thought maybe I could get away w/it. Not so. My face was on fire the first day. Then I developed blisters and then as if that wasn't fun enough Celiac symptoms I will not go into since this is MUA not Web MD. TMI but my point is-my problem but probably not going to be for most of the consumers. Back to the cleanser...
It is foamy and gets your face very clean. I probably would not suggest this for someone with supersensitive skin or someone who is dry or wants a cleanser during the cold season or lives in a dry climate. You could however use it as a weekly exfoliant but I don't know why you would do that when Chantecaille has products so much more effective.
The packaging seems ok.
Smell is fine, non-offensive but not spectacular like the signature rose de mai scent that has me so hot for this brand.
IMHO I think that this is actually a perfect cleanser for a man. The skin is not as sensitive and seems more robust.

As a cleanser (especially for the price that I paid for), I'm not impressed with this product at all but it because it made me breakout. I ditched the tube after two uses... I don't care even if I paid $50-something for it. On the plus side, the packaging is very nice.

Loved the way it removed makeup and left my mature, combo skin squeeky clean. I haven't felt the combination of clean and soft for a while.
I'm using a sample I got but seriously thinking about getting the full sized. It's an obscene amount to spend on a cleanser but as I found out using the sample, a little dab'll do ya.

This a my HG cleanser, toner, makeup remover and exfolliant all in one! Just a tiny dot of this cleanser out of the tube is all that's needed to clean my whole face and neck. It has such a pretty mild scent of geranium and the feel of the cleanser is creamy, and has the consistency that is really luxurious. Barely noticeable, minuscule tiny micro-grains of rice to exfolliate help to make my skin feel refreshed and really CLEAN. My skin feels ultra-pampered and looks luminous. I love this stuff!! Hard to believe that a mere dot of this cleanser is required to work up a creamy white lather that rinses clean away. I am in love with this product after almost 2 years of daily use. My skin (which is combo/normal in summer and combo/dry in winter) has never looked better. Amazing product that really is not that expensive when you consider how many products it replaces.

I received a sample from somewhere (can't remember where!), and I absolutely LOVE it. The smell is very subtle and clean; the texture is creamy and doesn't leave behind any residue on my face. My skin has been great all week that I've been using it -- I've stretched my teeny sample for over a week! So i'd say a little goes a long way. The bad news is the cost: $50. I'm under-employed right now and just can't justify the expense. So until I am again gainfully employed, I will be using any samples I can get my hands on...then, I'm taking the plunge and getting the full size.

Am a fan of several of the Chantecaille products so thought I would give his a try. I was surprised that it left the skin so squeaky clean as most the Chantecialle skincare line is quite gentle on the skin. I have combination skin and would say that this would dry out my skin if I used if everyday...perhaps only for use twice a week to give yur skin a deep cleanse. The scent is delicate and pretty, not too overpowering. Although not cheap, this will last you ages! A top tip from a freind was to use a miniscule amount and add loads of water in your hand......really works and gets the foam working without wasting product.

I LOVE this cleanser. I have tried many! It doesn't strip my face yet it removes all of my makeup and my skin feels normal. There's no annoying fragrance. It's lovely. I apply the tiniest amount. A tube will last for many months. I am about to buy my third tube soon. My husband loves it as well...he has his own tube. :)
