I seem to be liking bolder, more striking fragrances these days! I bought a perfume mini of this a year or 2 ago just because I liked the pretty bottle. Now that I'm in another phase of trying new fragrances, I decided to sample it, so I wore it to bed last night. I liked it so much, I wore it to work today. I won't say it was *instant* love, because when you first apply this, it smells like a blast of flowers and woods and/or incense all mixed up. That aspect quickly fades, however, and the "vintage" kicks in. To me, this main part of the fragrance has a hippie vibe: the flowers and darker tones are still vibrant, but they mesh. It is divine. Eventually, the floral notes fade, leaving a trace of what I interpret as musk, woods, and/or incense in a beautiful farewell. I love it, and will definitely be on the lookout for more of this gorgeous concoction!
Edit: I just ordered a 1-ounce spray of this, will be happy not to worry about running out of this anytime soon.

This is one of the most sickening perfumes I have ever tested! I think this would kill rats in the labs! I would not gift this to my worst enemy!OMG I get sick just thinking about it! I bought tiny bottle that was by the checkout at Marshalls, and came home and sprayed on one wrist (thank god only 1) then a little while later holy gag me, burning nose, throat felt like I swallowed sandpaper, glands even hurt, and face even got hot flashes like feverish feeling etc.. I washed my arm like 4 times and could still smell that disgusting smell over anything I tried! The funny thing is I tried another perfume on other hand (Brittney Spears Believe) and that did the same thing. I look up what notes were in each to see what causes burning nose, throat etc. They both have Lime Blossom (linden) in them, and I researched that note and it says something about being uses as a medicinal purpose to promote sweating in a sick person! Anyways I returned that bottle to store for refund even though it was small amount, I'd rather have every cent go for a perfume I love! I didn't want this nasty garbage sitting around my house either.

Perhaps one has to be considered an 'Ole Hipster' to enjoy this fragrance.
;-) I took back my Ellen Tracy 'sneeze aroma' fragrances yesterday, and discovered this little jewel of a bottle. I actually wanted this one for the lovely vintage looking bottle. I could not test it, of course, no testers in T.J.'s unless you are lucky enough to find an open container. It was inexpensive, unlike the ET collections, so I told myself even if I did not like the fragrance, the bottle would look lovely next to all my other pretty & unusual bottles of scent. This is the first of the Curve scents, or for that matter the Liz Claiborne line that I have tried. I am loving it right this minute! I am unsure of the dry down so I will update that if needed later on. Upon first spraying, I get a very lovely floral mixed with vanilla? I am not good at describing notes so I listed what I found online about it. I know from experience that TJ's fragrances can be 'not' newer, or freshly made, and I think probably have lost some of their pizazz, as some fragrances do go stale over time, especially the cheaper one's. I have some very old perfumes(30+ yrs.) that still smell the exact same, but then again, I have some 5 yr. old scents that no longer smell hardly at all. I keep those for the pretty bottles too. ;-)
Back to this review though. I am loving this delicate scent of mixed flowers! I have not found anything over powering as some have stated, nor does it give me a headache. It is a very calming and relaxing scent right this minute. It is settling into my chemistry quite nicely from the smell of things. ;-) I think on me anyway, I could wear this fragrance most anytime day, or night, and in to work, or play. It is winter right now and it smells great. I am thinking that it will smell great in any weather. The grouping's of flowers and wood are unique as far as I have smelled in my 45 years of wearing perfumes. I like that it is a parfum too.
If you love the bottle, buy it. I think the perfume will be a pleaser as well for most who love florals.

When you first smell this over powering fragrance, you might want to run. But as soon as it starts to mix with the natural oil in my skin, it's addictive. Every time I spray this, I am always afraid of using to much because then it's just to overwhelming. But every time I ONLY spray it on my skin, I get compliments. And a dear old friend who passed away loved it and sent is the strongest memory reminder..... It makes me think of him and I cry. I will always love the perfume just for that very reason. I wouldn't care if it smelled like poo...... It reminds me of someone so special in my life.

It seems like I'm in the minority, but I am really liking Vintage Soul! I got a 0.5 mini from an AWESOME MUAer and at this point I will definitely repurchase when I run out. Vintage Soul has a mix of tart fruits, heady florals, and a nice predominately musky/patchouli base. It definitely has a "vintage" feel- like a fragrance that would have been loved many, many years ago. I love the heady, white florals in the middle- so pretty mixed with the lime! Also- I get the magnolia (it's very light, though) that softens/sweetens up all the headiness of the tuberose and jasmine. This fragrance reminds me so much of something and I can not for the life me figure out what is is!... maybe some type of incense... or even potpourri? Either way- I am really loving this scent (great price too!). Also- I find this scent to be very unisex- the dry down gets especially masculine at the end. Overall, I give Vintage Soul a B... good job Liz Claiborne~

I got this scent as a Xmas gift 2 years ago and I'm finally rid of this! The scent reminds me of a mix of a bottle of (CK) Obession and some rotting floral gone bad. The warm powdery part of the scent is okay but there is some foul final note to this scent that just is not pleasent to the nose!

EECCCHHH. My feeling about most Claiborne frags is "just okay," in a generic fresh 'n' fruity 'n' synthetic way... Vintage Soul is a true disaster, a real scrubber, at least on me. Sour fruit cocktail and headache-inducing taffy with a good measure of store-brand men's aftershave. Just an absolute crime against humanity. Barf, barf, barf. You get what you pay for.

Very few Claiborne scents work on me - I discovered today that Curve Vintage Soul doesn't really work, either. It doesn't turn sour or vanish but it does not smell good IMO. Patchouli is one note that is in a lot of my favorite scents but I don't particularly like the patchouli in this one. The notes aren't quite harmonious. It's sweet but definitely *off*. No sale.

I have so many perfumes, but every time I wear Vintage Soul, someone stops me and asks what it is. They always say how good I smell. I get the same reaction from Fantasy and Fancy. But, if I am ever around people, someone always says - how beautiful you smell. This perfume takes just one spritz or two. It is long=lasting and potent, but lovely. My husband likes it too, and frankly, I can't believe the inexpensive price for such a lovely fragrance.i

I like Vintage Soul. I've always liked spicy scents (Cinnabar was my signature scent when I was in my late teens/early 20s). This smells somewhat strong, even masculine, when you first spray it, but it dries down nicely into a floriental fragrance. I think it will work better as a cooler weather scent. Reminds me a tiny bit of Burberry Brit.

Horrible wretched stench. I bought this for my daughter without trying it first, silly me I thought it would smell good like the other Curves.
She LOVES it. It lingers in the air for hours after she sprays it and I am constantly reminding her to easy on it because it's so strong and so we don't die from the stench it leaves behind.

What is in this stuff? It smells like old over ripened cranberry mixed with a strong mens cologne in a nice bottle! It is the weirdest freakin smell ever and I can't stomach this one! I gave it to my daughters and it sat around for a while and then they gave it back. This stuff is vile.I can't believe Claiborne manufactured this stuff!

I picked a bottle of this up (unsniffed, I think) in a Marshall's in late '06. (Perfume addict, liked the name, and it was something like $15, bad combination for me!) Brought it home, sprayed it on me, and really loved it. It does indeed smell like it should have come from another era: it has an earthy, grounded scent which to me is redolent of a lot of patchouli - normally something I hate - with musk, melon, and maybe a bit of rose. On me, it was a close-to-the-skin scent with a fair amount of projection, and I got compliments on it. I really dug it for about 3-4 months and wore it daily, and then stopped .

Anyhow, flash forward 2 years, and I decided to pull this one out of the perfume cabinet and give it another wear. Almost instantly after applying it I got a full-blown migraine, and then the penny dropped for me: perhaps wearing Vintage Soul daily was a BIG reason why I was battling intense headaches during the spring of '07. (I'm prone to them anyway, so the connection didn't come to me at the time.) Scrub time, and lots of Motrin, but the headache still lingered. A real shame, because it's a unique scent, funky and comforting, but if it gives me migraines, it's a no-go. I should probably toss the bottle but I like looking at it so it's stayed with me. I would absolutely repurchase if it didn't give me such headaches, but alas, this will be my only bottle. Be advised if you're migraine-prone!

I am not totally sure about this fragrance. I mostly was attracted to the bottle, which is very cute with the purple designs. When I first sprayed it, it was super strong. I like fragrances that are not so strong, so I can layer if I want it to be stronger. After a few hours though, I didn't really smell it very much so I don't think staying power is that great. UPDATE: My DH told me I smelled like I was wearing Old Spice!

A friend of mine wore this at work and YUCK.. I didn't have the heart to tell her but I'm so glad I did not ever try this considering one website recommended this scent for me.. No Way!! Very strong and old lady-like. I'm going to be honest I only smelled it in the bottle not on my skin, didn't want to go there.

The MUAer below who said this smelled like CK Euphoria really hit the nail on the head. It smells almost exactly like it, but lightens up a little bit more than Euphoria does. I really like it. It's not something I will wear while it's still warm (good ol' Texas) but as soon as we get some cooler fall and winter weather I will definitely wear this often. Would purchase again.

Ok I have to admit I am a bit of a fragrance snob. AG, Etro, Chanel. I wore the original Liz Claiborne back in the 80's and figured I had outgrown it. This was a surprise. I actually bought an open box with no cap on clearance because when I walked by I could smell it and it smelled like one of my favorite Glade scented oil candles! Spiced rose and vanilla. This is a dead ringer.

A beautiful floral with slight notes of fruit. Very deep. I got the pure parfum, I have to use up to four dabs and that's enough. The drydown is soft and beautiful.
