I bought this in shade 04 which was perfect for my NC35 (MAC) skintone. I applied this dry with the sponge applicator that came with it. The coverage is medium to full. It felt a bit heavy and caked on my face, but maybe somebody else would prefer that. It's a bit drying on me as well and I have combination skin. I guess the only good thing is the cute white compact that it comes in :(
I definitely was not in love with this enough to keep it laying around so it goes back to store!!

I definitely prefer MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder (in Medium Plus) or Studio Fix (in C3) over this.

This is my daily foundation that I use to tone down my cheeks that tend to flush bright pink. The coverage is good with out completely covering the pink in my cheeks--a tiny bit still shows--but I could probably make the pink go away if I layer more on. If I don't use finishing powder on top of the powder foundation my T-zone is a tad shiny at the end of the day but nothing horrible. I still use sunscreen underneath even though this foundation has spf since I don't necessarily apply foundation heavily on entire face. The powder foundation doesn't feel heavy layered on top of the sunscreen.

The packaging is super cute! Sephora has discontinued the line so I have to go to local Asian beauty stores in LA to buy Paul & Joe.

I am MORTIFIED by my experience with this stuff. I was lemming this for so so long and recently decided to buy it in my "last big haul" before leaving home and having to buy d/s mu forevermore!

Anyway....Paul & Joe have recently had a bit of an overhaul and changed the packaging a bit which totally swung it. It's gorgeous, the reviews are great.....so I purchased.

The colour which is 10 is a little off but i'm not going to blame the product for my bad colour choice, it doesn't look bad, just a bit warmer and i'd rather be a little warmer than look like a ghost.

The two lippies I have given this product are for

1. Beautiful amazing packaging
2. SPF 25.

The ones it doesn't have are because:

1. It's expensive!
2. Worst of all....although this look flawless from a distance it sticks to every single imperfection in my skin. If I want to detect dry patches then hell I'll just use this! It picks it all out and when i thought it looked ok after the first application I was met with horror when I looked in the mirror in stone cold daylight.
I suppose it's my fault for spending a fortune on powder in a pretty plastic case!

I will try to make this work for me but i'm not holding out any hope, I even used a powder brush to apply which has never failed me but the coverage of this is so heavy that it looked caked on even with a light dusting. Don't even go there with the sponge!!

The product itself does what it says but it just doesn't look natural. Very sad for me.

Definitely a great powder foundation. I used Ivory, the 2nd color, which (as has been said before) is the lightest shade offered. I have very fair pink-toned skin and it is a good match.

Unfortunately...I'll definitely have to agree with what one reviewer said below - I dropped this only a month after I bought it and it COMPLETELY shattered. I ended up saving what I could from the compact and mixing it in with a loose powder I have because I couldn't throw it away. I think I will repurchase soon, but the price is really steep, and it does upset me that the casing isn't very protective. The compact is beautiful though - it's shimmery and light blue with a floral design and scalloped edges. Probably one of the prettiest cosmetic items I've owned.

Paul & Joe seems to be out of stock at sephora.com a lot, so I'm having trouble even finding a way to reorder - I think because Paul & Joe is an Asian import brand? That would explain the high prices.

Description:
Paul & Joe Protective Dual Powder Foundation SPF 25 is a versatile SPF25 infused, weightless foundation that will leave your skin with a silky smooth finish. It can be used either dry for a natural look or wet for a more polished look. Either way this clever foundation will balance and even out skin tone and conceal imperfections flawlessly.

I hardly ever use foundation...only for special occasions which is rarely.so i always go for powder cos it has a longer shelf-life. but this is so good that i find myself reaching for this frequently even when its to go grocery shopping! its very sheer and fine powder that gives me a natural flawless look. cos of the shimmers (very fine ones), its an almost dewy, glowy look. i use - 02 Porcelaine (NW25/30watts) & this is the only shade which is slightly pinkish, others are all yellow base - too yellowy for me.

ETA (030407): i dropped my compact on the floor. not only did the compact cracked! it didnt protect the powder at all!! the compact opened upon contact on the floor, causing the pressed foundation to break into tiny tiny pieces!! am so pissed off especially considering buying the whole thing again isnt cheap!

Paul & Joe products have really nice packaging. I was using ZA 2 way cake before I tried this and thought ZA is working well till I tried P&J's one. The powder for the foundation is so fine that it spreads evenly onto my skin without looking cakey. Great for lazy days when I don't wish to apply on a liquid foundation. Stays on all day as well. Definately worth buying.

Loved this product. Really good coverage, but it looked completely natural on - in fact flawless, however blotchy my skin was underneath. It looked quite dark in the pan (I got Ivory, the lightest shade), but in fact it was a very good match for my pale-ish, yellow-toned skin. Only one downside: if you drop it, the powder will shatter into fragments :( I bought the powder foundation (pink, not blue) as a replacement - I'm not sure why - but am disappointed with that, as it gives no coverage and is rather drying. Will definitely repurchase this one.

I tried this powder foundation first in shade # 01 (Ivoire). Ivoire is VERY yellow based. It is about the same intensity as NARS Deauville or BE 1.2 Fairly-Light, only much yellower in undertone. It would be a good match for light skinned asian women who have a lot of yellow undertones in their skin. But it was much too yellow based for me, so I tried shade # 02 (Porcelain) next, and that was perfect. Shade # 02 (Porcelain) is more neutral/pink in undertone and is actually lighter than shade # 01. Shade # 02 (Porcelain) is the lightest shade in the line and would be a much better match for most light/pale caucasian women as it is more neutral/pink. The quality of this foundation is excellent no matter what color you choose. It has a wonderful soft, silky texture, and is the perfect medium coverage (applied dry). I love the UVA/UVB spf 25 in this powder foundation too. This foundation also seems to be really good at keeping the oilies at bay for a good long while, and the color stays true all day. Great quality. Would definitely purchase again. Not that it's hugely important or anything, but I *love* the pretty, vintage, pale seafoam-green color compact it comes in too! Really pretty on my vanity! 5 lippies! :) ____UPDATE_(10-16-06)___ Just wanted to let you all know that I have fallen asleep with this foundation on 2 nights in a row (my 5 year old is sick and I fell asleep lying in bed with her), and this has NOT broken me out at all! Usually if I fall asleep in my make-up I am instantly done for - my face will be broken out in a heartbeat. So it was with great surprise that I saw my skin looks absolutely perfect this morning even after sleeping all night in my make-up. I have oily and acne-prone skin, so it is the HIGHEST compliment I can give to the quality of this foundation that it has not clogged my pores or caused any break-outs on my skin even after sleeping in it (I did wash it off yesterday morning and reapplied after my shower ... just so you know I didn't keep wearing the same make-up application for 2 days straight! LOL! I just fell asleep 2 nights in a row with my make-up on. Don't want you all to think I'm crazy or anything!). Anyway, this stuff is a definite keeper! :) _______UPDATE__(11-7-06)____ After using this Powder Foundation for a month, I have decided to go back to my trusty NARS Powder Foundation. Paul & Joe's Dual Powder Foundation is nice and it has spf 25 which is really great, but ultimately I've decided that I like the finer texture of NARS Powder Foundation better. NARS Powder Foundation is only spf 12, but I've decided that it's worth it to me to switch back because I just really like the softer, finer, more sheer, more delicate texture of the NARS foundation better. Maybe I'll switch back to Paul & Joe's foundation when summer comes and I need a higher spf, but for now I am back to my NARS. :)
