Horrible smell. Beautiful results. One of the only things that truly cured challenges with acne I had. (The only other that worked was Boscia). I purchased at a discount, and I will repurchase at a discount. While the smell is bad, it dries VERY quickly and you cant smell it anymore.

I'd like to start by saying that I agree with all reviews on the smell -- it is awful! But it does disappear after awhile and the benefits are worth it. I use this along with the mask and peel. I am seeing absolutely amazing results. I have horrible cystic acne that leaves angry scars. This in combination with the other products has stopped the cysts from forming and now I just get small pimples (if any at all) that go away the next day. I have tried everything under the sun and have not found anything that truly helps my skin. I cannot express how much these products have changed my life -- I feel confident and my skin looks really good! :D

yuck yuck yuck!! I am so glad that I just got a sample of this serum before actually purchasing it. I had read that it has a strange smell (like very stinky feet) and thought that reviewers were just sensitive to fragrances, which I am not. I could not believe how overpowering the smell was when I put it on my face. My husband told me that I was never allowed to use the serum again in his presence. It could work great, I don't know and I never will because I just cannot bear to smell it again.

I received only a sample of this from Sephora, but that was all I needed for me to draw my conclusion. This is because I could not get past the odor. Literally, it gave me goosebumps. Think morning breath and stinky feet mixed together. It smells like rot. Luckily, I only applied it to the inside of my wrist because the reviews warned me of the scent. I will say that the smell does not, I repeat does NOT dissapate and vanish after a while. I used makeup remover on my arm and it still stunk. Not nearly as bad, but more like wet dog and it smelled that way for over an hour afterwards. I kept getting whiffs of it. Some women say the scent dissapears quickly, but I would guess that is because it is on their face and after a while, you adjust to scents on your face, like how you're really not able to smell perfume on your neck, because you get used to it, but other people will make comments on how nice your perfume smells when you walk by-- they can smell it, but you can't. Since it was on my arm, I had the unfortune to get fresh whiffs of it while I was driving and turning my steering wheel. I'm glad I didn't put this on my face, because I'm sure my boyfriend would have gagged if he leaned in to kiss me. I can not review the products performance since it never touched my face, so I rated it a neutral 3. Ladies, all I have to say is go to a store and smell it before you pay for online shipping, end up hating the odor, and have to pay for shipping back. Trust me.

The best of the clear skin set, but that isn't quite as much of a compliment as it should be. The serum is more of a fine gel that smooths on easily, stings slightly, and left my face looking like it had a layer of product on it (didn't really sink in). I wasn't bothered by the smell, but some other people certainly are. My acne did improve somewhat while using this product, but I'm not sure if that was due to this product or to other outside factors (I'd just moved around the world and sometimes my acne takes a month or so to catch up with me). Compared to the other products in the clear skin line, this one seemed to be the most effective - my acne returned once my sample of the serum ran out (months before my other samples ran out - without the serum, I lost my enthusiasm for the rest of the line). Does not last very long at all, and this would get very expensive very quickly for what were not sure results. Not bad, but I don't really recommend it.

Smells horrific but somehow it really does the trick! I have had this underground zit that is a real mound on my forehead for about 8 days, and by putting this on last night, it actually significantly diminished it! My skin is loving this stuff...and it's usually very sensitive, breaks out to anything. I'm a beliver. Will check in later on about this too. I'm a devotee of the Kinerase line. Love the Clear Moisture Light.

smells like cat spit after its licked its butt. (seriously) but wow it works. I had this bottle for a few months, dont know why I stopped using it (I get bored with skincare and switch often, to the detriment of my skin). Ive been breaking out pretty bad the past month or so.. Found this in my closet, along with the clear skin moisture light, and the clear skin regulating mask, and also the kinerase cleanser. been using the whole gamut, and my skin has cleared up significantly the past 4 or 5 days. I mostly had clogged pores on my forehead and cheeks (near my nose). this has really helped dry them up so they flake off. What I love is that its gentle and effective. But WOW its expensive. though there are many places online that sell it at a discount.

I've been using this product in conjunction with the moisturizer light and mask that come as a bundled package. I've noticed a DRAMATIC and unprecedented improvement in both decreased breakouts, inflammation, and overall skin texture and appearance. I've tried everything from medicated acne products to Dr. Hauschka after I went off bc pills five years ago and my skin freaked out. I've battled horrid hormonal acne ever since, and harsh products tend to irritate and lead to more breakouts, while 'natural' products have zero effect. While this stuff smells like dirty socks, I noticed a difference overnight...not a complete disappearance, but noticeable diminishing. After about three weeks, the results are phenomenal to me. Again, I've been using this in conjunction with the moisturizer and mask, but I will definitely repurchase, due to the noticeable difference and the fact that it doesn't dry my skin out. In fact, the texture of my skin has also improved.
Also, to the reviewer below who put this on HER EYELIDS....why on earth would you do that? It's for acne! Not eyelids! Read the labels! Jeez!

For reference, I was on Accutane about 6 years ago and in the past year started having random breakouts. Nothing like I used to get, but still pretty annoying since my skin creates a dark spot every time I get a zit. UGH! My skin is combination in the summer and ultra dry (to the point that it hurts) in the winter, and sensitive, too.
This product was recommended to me by a SA at Sephora. She did a skin consultation and after telling her about my skin she recommended this product highly. She had dewy gorgeous skin and she said she didn't always have skin like that. She said when she first started taking care of her skin and treating her acne, she used the Kinerase Clear Skin Treatment Serum. She said it cleared up her skin and got it into great condition.
I was reluctant to buy the product because 1) the price (it's super expensive!) and 2) the smell...oh, the smell. The SA warned me about the smell. Said it was like cat's breath. I think cat's breath is too kind. The stuff smells rotten and funky. She promised the scent went away after a few minutes.
So I bought it. The first night, I washed my face and put on the serum and the Clear Skin Moisture Light (she gave me generous samples of it, and after reading MUA reviews it seems as if the serum and the Moisture Light was a powerful combo). I already had a few zits (not white heads, the red bump types) and I ended up not going to bed right away. I stayed up for another 4 hours and I swear, my zits had reduced in size. Not drastically but enough for me to notice. That made me SO hopeful!
I have been using the combo of the serum and the moisture light for 1.5 weeks so far (both morning and night) and my existent zits have significantly reduced (usually it takes FOREVER for them to go away once they grow full size), and new ones that were popping up when I first started have completely disappeared.
My sensitive skin is loving this stuff! It hasn't left me flakey and dry, and my usual winter-dry skin actually looks moisturized. My skin is really improving. I think this is definitely my HG!
I highly recommend the combo of the serum with the moisture light (I plan to buy a full tube of it when my samples run out). It's a miracle combo that appears to be worth every penny.
And yes, the funky yucky smell goes away after about a minute or two, and really fades after you put on the lotion. Strangely, the smell isn't even as bad anymore when I initially put it on - I think I've gotten used to it.
Try it try it try it! Or at least go to Sephora and ask for samples and try it for a few nights :)
UPDATE: Definitely a HG. I don't think I can live without this serum. My skin loves it and has been the clearest it's ever been. I no longer use the lotion since my sample ran out but the serum is working pretty well just on its own! I use it every PM now that my skin doesn't seem to need so much work anymore, and honestly, the smell - I hardly notice it anymore! HG HG HG!

since i started college, my skin started breaking out (probably due to stress and poor sleeping schedule and bad diet), although the break out is not massive or all at once, they do leave irritating scars that just won't seem to go away. the kinerase clear skin serum was one of the few products that worked for me. i put it on twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. it didn't stop break outs completely, but it did calm my skin and reduced my scaring, however i do not think the moderate results were worth the sky high price tag.

I tried this for 2 weeks after the sales girl at Sophora got me all excited about it. After 2 or 3 treatments using every morning I was pretty hopefull. A few small pimples went away as well as some of the bumps on my forehead. But it seemed to stop working after about a week. The weather also changed (more cold and dry) and my face started getting dry and flaky. I don't think it did anything for wrinkles. In fact, I think I looked older from the dry skin. It does smell really bad like others have mentioned, but it went away after putting on my moisturizer. I think this product may work better on someone with acne and oily skin. I have dry sensitive acne prone skin and it didn't seem to work for me. I won't be buying it again and plan on returning the full size bottle I purchased.

I normally don't get breakouts since I took birth control pills but I got two zits right after I applied this serum on my eye lids as eye moisturizer. I got a deluxe sample from Sephora and I sas ads of this serum in the magazines so I thought why not try on my lids. I was wrong. The price is way too high for this kind of product. Be careful if you received it as freebie like me.

OMG, this product is absolutely horrible!!! I bought it as a kit with the mask and moisture cream for $85 and I figured for the price, the products would work wonders for my skin. It absolutely DID NOT!! First, the serum smells horrible and after I had applied it on my face, I instantly broke out EVERYWHERE! I am still trying to recover (2 months later). My chin, my cheeks and my forehead were covered in blemishes, and I have NEVER broken out this badly before in my life! Anyone hesitating to buy this product, DO NOT!!

I really don't know how they managed to make such a nasty smelling product. I am going to spare you the graphic details but it smells like an infection. I couldn't bare to put this all over my face, so I use it has a spot treatment. It hasn't done much for me. I wish they could have put some kind of scent in it, b/c this stuff is just wrong! I will admit it didn't last after I put lotion on, but I am still paranoid my boyfriend would smell it on me anyway.

For the price of this item, I was expecting fabulous results. This product didn't really do anything for me, as far as skin clearing benefits. It didn't seem to make my skin any better or worse. It smells really bad. This product cost about $100.

I LOVE THIS CRAP! No, it doesn't smell like a bowl of cherries, but honestly, it's not that bad, and the smell dissipates after a minute or two, especially after you put moisturiser on. It helps clear up blemishes and keeps them at bay, also helps with oilyness.

This was the first product I bought in the Kinerase Clear skin treatment line. I used this twice a day and went through two bottles without noticing an improvement in my oily skin problems. Contains salicylic acid. As for the benefits of kinetin, I am totally in love. Kinetin gives my skin the youthful, dewy look I had in my teens and twenties. Also very calming to my skin. Never one to give up, I purchased Kinerase Clear Skin moisture light which really works for my cystic acne and excess oil problem.

I have been using this product for a few weeks now, along with the rest of the Kinerase clear skin regimen and my skin has never been better. I waited a while to review this serum, and I have I noticed a definite improvement from using this product. I use it at night in conjunction with either the Kinerase clear light moisturizer or sometimes just the antioxidant toner, and in the morning my skin is flawless, it clears blemishes overnight without drying or irritating the skin whatsoever. The smell is really horrible, but it goes away within a minute or so of application. Also, I want to point out that the ingredients in this blemish serum are actually beneficial for your skin and have antioxidant and anti-aging properties (vs. benzoyl peroxide which has been proven to age the skin). This product is very expensive, but I have spent years and countless $$ on products and treatments for my skin and nothing has worked like Kinerase.

I dont use this product daily as I am supposed to because it seems a bit harsh; and the smell- good LORD, the smell. But I do use it as a spot treatment on blemishes and I notice it dramatically decreases the swelling- haven't had a cystic breakout since I begin using the Clear Skin line (the Clear Skin Light moisturizer is the single best thing I have ever used on my face)

Ok the smell is horrendous. However, it is working for me. I just went through a horrible breakout and this was my last over-the-counter resort before going to the dermatologist.
I am using it in conjunction with the Clear Skin Lotion which I love. I use this once a day. My skin has totally changed in 2 weeks. It is brighter, clearer, no new breakout, seems to also be making my skin more even in tone. Love it so far!
