I'm surprised by the bad reviews on this item. They are kind of misleading because it has more to do with the people picking the wrong shade for them. This color is great for my nc30 skin. With a heavy hand tho it can go on a little to dark, so with the fairer skin I don't think this would be flattering. But like many others have said there is no irange tint to this bronzer, it is a nice true bronze color, it goes on with a slight shimmer, NOTT. I love it, and because u need such a light hand to apply this, I don't think I will ever run out. There are still hetchmakrs after a week of daily use with mine :) You can't even tell its' been swatched. But if I were to ever need a new one, I would def buy again :)

I was given this bronzer as a gift, and I originally thought it would be to dark for my NC20-25 skintone. But I was intreged by it because it is a deep brown color, not at all orange looking like some bronzers.
The first time I tried this bronzer, I used a dense blush brush, and it looked horrible, it went on way to dark and made me look a little dirty. At first I thought that thriving was just not a bronzer that I could ever pull off with my light skintone, but a few days later I decided to try it with a quo bronzing brush (for reference- this brush is similar in shape to the MAC 187 but it is alot softer and alot less dense). I lightly touched the brush into the bronzer and taped off the excess and applied it (using the 3 method) and it looked great.
I have used this bronzer almost everday since, and I have gotten alot of compliments on how tanned and glowy I look when I am wearing it.I will repurchase, but I definitly will not have to for a long time because I use so little each time.
This bronzer comes in a circular compact with the bronzer on the top and a mirror and brush in the bottom compartment. I would suggest using a different brush to apply, and I think the key to this bronzer is using a light hand. I really like it!

I didn't like this AT ALL. It's way to dark and doesn't blend! If I have a smudge of it on my cheek... it'll be there all day.
I use this on my neck now so the bronzer i have (estee lauder bronze goddess) doesn't look fake.
Won't be buying this again.

Let me start by saying that 1) I purchased this on sale and 2) I was intrigued because it was a bronzer that was different from most d/s bronzers in that it wasn't blatantly ORANGE or 'terra cotta' in the pan. I hate looking rusty when I put bronzer on!!
Well...I didn't think my purchase through very well, though, as this bronzer is a tan/brown shade with very pretty glitter~~and is quite obviously made for a deeper skintone than mine own NC20 (fair) shade. This just made me look DIRTY. I'm beginning to think thats the only bronzer choices for me: Rusty, or Dirty. Gah.
Anywho....up for swap this went, and although it seems like an excellent product the color was not for me. Thus the review, as a cautionary tale to all other pale & fair girls looking to add a 'touch of sun' to their look...this one just adds a 'touch of grime' instead. PASS!!

I was running out of my "Blessed" bronzer and thought I would give this one a try since it was 75% off. I think it's safe to say that this is the last HIP bronzer I will buy. The color has no orange but is too dark for my skintone and I just cant tolerate this ridiculous, chunky glitter stuff anymore. This product will do just fine as a blush, contouring, whatever, but DO NOT use this on your forehead or you will spot yourself in the mirror and be embarrassed (even if you thought you looked good leaving the house!!)

Meh....its not bad but not completely awesome. probably because i think i need a different color in it, but i really like that it isn't orange or really brown, its a nice in between that does give you a pretty tan. I like the shiimmer but i wish that it were a little more fiiner grain of shimmer, like PF shimmer strips. The packaging is a tad wonky (like most HiP products) in that the mirror (which is nice a big) flips out on the bottom so if you are trying to use the product and the mirror you have to keep flipping it back and forth, but what makes up for this is the very cute and soft brush that comes with, i was very impressed by this, its small and has soft natural bristles, ofcourse i only really use this brush on the go i use a kabuki at home. This is a bronzer perfect to throw in your purse!

DDD NW45 or HIP#818.....Thriving is a medium-dark brown with tiny, subtle gold shimmer. No orange, no red. Looks a bit muddy on me since I have yellow & red undertones to my skin. Almost the HG gold shimmer powder been looking for to dust all over my face. Just wish it were a tad lighter. Probably gorgeous for CCC, MMM, GGG, DDD with neutral or golden undertones. Truly packed with pigment. Comes in a generous size compact. So little goes a long way. Last all day for me. Cost $5 on ebay. Will give Blessed a try.

Pretty bronzer but I wouldn't say must have...unless you like alot of shimmer, which this bronzer has plenty of. :o/
Thriving is a true brown bronzer with no hint of orange and gold shimmer throughout so take it easy with application or you may end up looking like a disco ball. For reference, I'm GGG/DDD. I found this product to be a bit pricey for drugstore makeup but the BOGOF at CVS made buying this $12.99 bronzer more tempting then it would under usual circumstances. I like it. It looks great in moderation and with a matte blush on the apples of my cheeks, such as Gingerly. I probably wouldn't repurchase this in the future.

I love this bronzer! It's seriously PERFECTO for my skintone! I'm NC30 and this stuff is brown, not orange. I love, love, love! I hate to admit it, but this bronzer is better than MAC's...and I have their bronzers, but I'm not even gonna use it anymore because of this stuff.

A must have bronzer for MMM/DDD girls. Beautiful tanned glow like you spent the week in Cabo! No orange - true brown tone. Highly pigmented like NARS but at a fraction of the cost. I use it as a bronzer/contour color and then go over my cheeks with a blush. Make for a very beautiful finish.
