Did not like this product at all! I bought Warning!, which is a deep brick red. Somehow, it looked okay when I was at the counter, but looked like a mess when I applied it again the next day. The consistency is too thick--very difficult to give lips smooth, even coverage.

I HATE lip varnish. I think it goes on the lips unevenly--not a nice, smooth even lip coverage. My mom agrees with me and recently returned Cute Yet Sexy. Not only that, after just a month mine started to seperate in the tube--disgusting. An MA told me all of hers have done the same. Definitely not one of MAC's better ideas.

I have MAC's Lip Varnish in Topper. This is a very sophisticated lipgloss because it has smooth color with a creamy shine. This is the lipgloss you wear when you want to look perfect. Some older women are not into lipgloss because it looks youthful. Well I'm not old, but if I was, I'd wear Lip Varnish because it's the perfect level of shiny but not too wet glossy. Like I said, it's the most sophisticated lippee out there.

Count me among Varnish's fans. I gave up on regular Lipglasses because they don't last long enough, but long-wearing lipsticks make my lips go all Death-Valley. Varnish solves the problem. I have Cute Yet Sexy, Polish Me Pink, Warning, Varnishing Rose, Topper, Hard Coral, and Bronze & Brazen. I love them all worn on top of coordinating lipliners. Blotting with a layer of tissue seems to make them last longer and look less like plastic. In spite of their thickness some of the shades aren't that opaque; Polish Me Pink, for instance, is like a film of hot pink cellophane that brightens up the face without seeming overdone (especially if blotted).

I bought this in Speed Demon. MAC's website describes it as a "deep plum with soft pink pearl". I'm a NW20 with light brown hair and green eyes and plum and violet shades usually flatter my complexion very well. Even the swatch looked really pretty on MAC's website. However when I got it and tried it on, totally different story. I know these are supposed to be more of a liquid lipstick and opaque, but man was this dark. The texture of this was too thick and sticky too. I could barely apply this on my lips evenly which is also really bad for such a dark and opaque color. I can see how this color would look very pretty on someone with a darker complexion, but all around this was bad for me. I exchanged this for a tinted lipglass.

I bought this in Hard Coral, which is a bright red-orange. A nice loud colour for summer. Goes well with my warm NC40 complexion. I'm not convinced that I like the consistency of this though as it's sticky and opaque and needs careful application for it to go on smoothly. I think I prefer my Dior Addict Lip Fluid in Gentle Peach, which is a softer version of the same orange-coral colour, and much silkier to apply. Having said that though, this is a unique colour for when you want to go quite bold.

I bought this in Molto-bene, and me no likey. This is my least fave of all the spin-off versions of MAC Lipglass. I like Lustreglass, Chromeglass, and Plushglass, but I just can't get into the Lip Varnish. Maybe it's the colors that are currently available, but none of them appeal to me. However, they are very opaque, long-wearing, and not as sticky as other glosses, so I can understand if they are a big hit for some. Just not for me...

I bought Topper. It looks like melted down 50% + Spice + clear gloss = topper varnish. I'm still undecided on whether this color is for me. (I'm NC50 for reference.) The other reviews are right. The varnish is very pigmented. I like the concept of varnish but I need to try another color that I love.
