I understand this product is to be used as an all over face setting powder..but I have to agree with the other reviewers that it is quite sparkly. In that case, I use it as a highlighter and I love it. It's similar to MAC Soft and Gentle but the sparkle is much more fine and soft where as Soft/Gentle is quite glittery. I think the key here is to apply with the "less is more" approach and you should be fine. I used a feather fan brush to apply at the tops of my cheekbones and a very light dusting on my forehead and I really like the results - it's a very pretty highlighter. I took off one lippie because it's messy.

*I'm reviewing the BE Illuminating Veil, the new name for the Feather Light veil.*

I'm on a huge "glow from within" kick at the moment and couldn't resist trying this. For starters, in direct sunlight, this is very sparkly. Visible small sparkles all over your face. I only use this in the evening due to that. Any women who are matte girls all the way, do not purchase this. As a plus, indoors and at night it is really pretty. It's also very versatile. It could double as just a highlighter, can be mixed with your eyeshadow base if thats your thing, and even to dust along your chest shoulders for an illumating effect. As an everyday veil, it is really just too sparkly, but for evenings, I love it.

this is so starnge. i got it as a sample and im very glad i didnt purchase it. it looks shimmery on my skin. it doesnt look good over makeup or alone for me. it def doesnt diffuse any perfections, but instead makes them more pronounced. i didnt give this a 1 bc it looked good on a friend of mine who has sligtly darker skin than mine, so i guess its bc im so pale. i wont be buying this.

I bought this when I was on my luminous, "lit-from-within" kick. It simply has too much shimmer/glitter to be used all over the face. I use it as a highlight or in the evenings on occasion but for the most part it just sits in my drawer.

Compared to the original Mineral Veil, Feather Light is just absolutely bizarre with its glitter overload. I think this would work better as an eyeshadow or maybe if you were going to a rave. Absolutely shocked at how much glitter was in it for a finishing powder.

At first I hated this. Passionately. I got it as a sample and once I opened it and saw all the glitter, I was a bit turned off. I have a hard time highlighting or using any of those type products because I've got problem skin. But when I ran out of MUFE HD powder, I had nothing left but this stuff. I was surprised to see my face had a decent glow, but in sunlight I looked sweaty all day. I'd probably use this at night when I know I'm going to be in a low light setting like at dinner or a bar or something, but during the day this is a major don't. For me anyway. I'd probably try to get more samples of this but if I ever run out I don't think I'd buy a full size. I might try to use it as a highlighter to see how it works in that sense, but I guess this isn't the absolute worst product out there lol.

way too glittery! this may work as a highlighter but not setting powder. I received it as a deluxe sample so thank god i didnt spend money on this disco ball.

This is not good as a face finisher like a translucent powder. It is a nice highlighter. It reminds me of Benefit's High Beam, but in a -weak- powder form.

I use it under the brow and at the tear ducts, mostly. It's not bad on the cheeks, either.

I bought the illuminating mineral veil as I wanted something to finish my makeup off that has a little lumesence about it. It definately has that, but its different to the normal veil in that if you put too much on it can make you look pale and glittered out.
Ive been using it on my eyelids and just for highlighting and it works wonderfully for that.

Mineral veil does nothing for me. Unfortunately it seems to settle between the fine hairs on my face and enhance them. As far as absorbing oil throughout the day I would rather use an oil blotting sheet than keep piling this stuff on my face.

I hate this powder! it is way too glittery. I am a fan of the glowy luminous look and dont mind a bit of shimmer (I am 22) but this powder is ridiculous. I use it as an eyeshadow. unless you want to look like a disco ball avoid

While I like the product itself, the packaging needs to be tweaked. There is no sifter in the one I bought and my brush is too big to tap on the lid without it getting everywhere else too. This is the only problem with this...maybe if the jar and lid were wider, almost like body butter containers?

This came in the crystal kit which I returned. I did not realize that the feather light mineral veil would have sparkles. I do not mind a nice glow but this is way to glittery for me. Someone much younger may enjoy this look but it is not suitable for me. Thankfully I tried this on when spending the day at home. After applying I checked the mirror in sunlight eeeekkkk. I do like the regular version of mineral veil, it has a nice soft finish.

I like to wear the illuminating mineral veil on weekends or at special occasions. It has little tiny sparkles in it, which catch light and give you a radiant glow.

I don't really like this powder. I tried it on top of my studio sculpt foundation and it looked good at first, but came off throughout the day. Not only did the powder come off but it took my foundation off with it, and I've never had problems with my studio sculpt falling off throughout the day so I thought that was kind of weird. I wanted to try it cuz it was lightweight and I don't want a thick powder foundation. It would be really good if it stayewd on throughout the day cause I don't have time to keep reapplying it during the day.i I was bummed cause it looked really nice when first applied

I tried this over my foundation and thougt it had to much shimmer for that. But lightly applied to the top of my cheekbones or under my eyebrow arch it's a great highlighter!

OH.MY.GOD. never again will i buy this. Looks great when you first put it on, it gives a pretty glow, you look flawless when you use it over foundation but THEN...by midday it leaves me a grease pit.
Not a fan, and not worth the money.

Sorry to say I do not like this product. The place I work sells it and I never point customers in that direction. I would rather them use a good setting powder then something that will clog their lungs, flake their skin, and make them look like a glittery mess. As much as I wanted to like the product, I just was not impressed :/

This is now called Illuminating Mineral Veil...and honestly they should call it GLITTER Mineral Crap. I love BE and in my humble opinion they make the best mmu out on the market. However, this is a BIG NOOOOOO for me. I love the airbrushed look I get from regular mineral veil and I was looking forward to this adding that glowy/dewy finish..instead it literally was like I put glitter on my face. It has OBVIOUS sparkles. I hate it. I am 37, I want to look glowy and beautiful not sparkly and ridiculous. I'm pretty sure this is what they used on Edward Cullen in Twilight to make him sparkle.

I was never a fan of the original mineral veil, but this I love. It gives me that air-brushed quality and makes my mineral foundation look so much better.
