Best eyeshadow primer ever!!! I use this as a base before applying my smoky eye shadow and it is FLAWLESS. The shimmery champagne color is beautiful by itself but I personally like darker eyes. When using a darker brown on my lids, the color seems to be amplified and a subtle shimmer peeks through underneath. I have used this color for years and I don't plan on stopping.

Before primers came along I wore this shadow every single day as a base as it was the ONLY thing that didn't crease on my deepset eyelids. A gorgeous, pinky champagne shimmer, works on its own for a light look, or can be used as a base for building colour. I've tried other cream shadows but nothing touches this. Nothing! I pray Mac never gets rid of it as I don't know what I would do!

A beautiful shimmery champagne/peachy/pink colour on my skin tone, which is PERFECT for any neutral eye look (am yet to try it with any other eye look!). I find it a little messy to apply - I always seem to get it on my nose, but that is just careless application on my part. I like the packaging, although when I take the lid off, product just seems to come piling out, which can be a waste. However, I haven't experienced creasing with this product like I usually do with cream products on the eye area, but maybe this is because I wear a primer underneath any way?
On the whole, the absolute beauty of this colour far outweighs any negatives, and I'd recommend every one to give it a try.

Great base for creating a nice 'pop' to your eyeshadows. It even transformed my cheap Revlon pink eyeshadow from sheer to bold- impressive! I also like the 'paint tube' packaging, as an artist I really appreciate the artistic touch. The base itself is a soft pearly champagne charged to the max with silver shimmer. It is beautiful on my light/medium yellow warm under tone skin.
However, there are a two flaws with this product. For (1) it is difficult to get an even application. I have to use a 'pat on' motion with my finger tip to make it appear even, otherwise it will look blotchy. (2) Even though this is considered a base, it still requires a eye shadow base to stay in place otherwise it fades away after 6 hours of wear. Perhaps this is only the case for people who have somewhat oily lids- like myself.
Despite it's flaws, it does not diminish how beautiful my eyeshadows look. It really adds a boost of vibrancy and brings out the depth of the colours on my lids.

I have and will always adore MAC paints. Sure I've dabbled into the Paint Pots, but my first love is the paints. I use shadesticks (still) and love those and paints alike. Stilife is just the perfect color for any type of shimmery shadow. I love this and I'm on my 2nd or 3rd tube already, whilst still using Bare Study PP :)
Age: 44-55 Skin: Dry, Fair-Medium Hair: Blond Eyes: Brown
I am on my second tube of this and simply love it. I wear it as a base with other shadows or alone on days when I am just wanting a fast but pretty eye look. The color with the touch of shimmer compliments my brown eyes and is just barely dark enough to show. You do have to be careful when using the tubes or you can easily get too much product, but this is a must have MAC product for me.

MY HG EYE SHADOW BASE!! I use this EVERY SINGLE DAY with my shadows. I apply UDPP and then whatever shadows I use, from neutrals, mattes, shimmers....it brightens the eye and makes any dull lifeless shadow pop!! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION...YOU MUST GO AND BUY!!!

As I have said before with the paint tubes - it leaves a lot to be desired for packaging. But for a product - it's one of my favorite MAC products.
Stilife is my "every day" product. It makes a great base for a range of shades but as with other MAC paints, I prefer to wear it alone. It's a beautiful shimmery neutral that is flattering and easy to work with. If I am not wearing it by itself, I wear it with a little chocolate brown pigment in the crease. Beautiful and versatile!

I have about 40 "tube" cream shadows between MAC Paints, LM Metallic Eye Colors, Clinique Touch Tints, etc .. and Stilife just kind of gets lost in my stash periodically. And then when I least expect it .. it just kinda jumps out at me. Stilife is a really stunning champagne/ivory kind of color with shimmer. It's a great base shade worn alone, or used underneath just about any of their neutrals like Phloof, Nylon, Shroom or Ricepaper. Stilife is highly shimmery, so I do have to use a light hand with this. One of the few MAC paints I've actually been able to finish and had to re-purchase. A great paint that everyone should own!

You are hearing it right with a little goes a long way with this. I applied the tiniest amount to my finger this morning and it was more than enough for both eyelids plus another. The formula really spreads out well on the skin, it thins out very easy, didn't dry out my skin and it's very pretty.
As for the priming effect I've read about, I have the oiliest eyelids perhaps known to woman. But this held up better than any other primer I've tried, and I've tried a lot. I checked it at 5-6 hours and it was good but at 8 hours the oil had broken the barrier :( But still that's still great for me! I love this color and think it's a fantastic formula. Being my first MAC product I have been tempted and will definitely be checking out more of their line! Thank you MAC for a wonderful product!

I love love the color but it dries my eyelids. I don't like the packaging, but will repurchase due to the pretty pretty color and efect.

Wow, I've had this product forever. I just began using it again after a long hiatus and it truly does work as a great eyeshadow base. All you need is a tiny, tiny amount... as it's extremely concentrated. Good product, probably would but it again if I get through it.

Stilife was part of my very first MAC experience 7 years ago, and I'm still using it til this day! I've probably used two whole tubes of this in that time (along with a few tubes of Shimma paint...my other fave). One tube of any given paint will probably last you a good year if used every day. Because of the packaging style which I happen to love, even if you don't go through it in a year, it stays fresh and doesn't dry out and it's also more sanitary than the pot packaging.
Stilife is a light shimmery champagne color that looks good on my pale skin. I can wear this alone with a liner and a quick crease color like Satin Taupe when I'm in a rush, or I'll use it as a base for almost any shadow out there! If you're looking for more of a matte look, however, I would use Untitled or UDPP...something with less of a metallic effect. I also really think that the shimmery MAC paints like this and Shimma hold eyeshadows in place much longer than Untitled for some reason. Untitled can sometimes "eat up" my eyeshadows and almost dissolve the colors I place over it (that's the only way I can think to describe what happens), but Stilife and Shimma keep shadow colors truer longer. Since Stilife is being DC'd with the rest of the paints in favor of the newer paint pots (which I don't care for at all), I will be buying several backups so I never have to be without! I swear that MAC discontinues things and creates "limited edition" colors just so everyone buys up all the stock...dirty bastards!

This is a decent product but I definitely wouldn't go crazy to get my hands on it. It's similar to Barestudy in color, but slighty brighter and more opalescent. The texture is also way thinner and wetter compared to the consistency of paint pots. That being said, since the texture is softer it's easier to blend with your e/s. This looks great on the inner corners and browbone, perfect highlighter for those areas. But not a good enough reason to give up my paint pots!!

I love this paint, I love the color though I don't like it that its in a tube because sometimes it goes to waste. I have a really bad look on when it comes to measurement. I always put too much or too little. I like the paint pot better as you can take how much you want and not have to worry about taking too much out and wasting it, but thats just me LOL
Overall, very nice color. Very nice texture but dries easily so you have to use it on the spot.

I didn't like this product at first, but learned to apply it for daytime use and found myself loving it. I actually use my finger instead of a brush for application, and this works out so much nicer for a daytime look (not too shimmery for the office!) One of my easy work FOTD is a finished brow with this paint on the eye lid, mascara, then a little blush (usually nuance mineralize blush) and c-thru lipglass.

Ok - This is now one of my fav paints. I love the shimmer and slight champagne peachy color it puts off. I just apply this to the lid, use a soft brown in the crease and I am goood to go. Great consistancy - not too dry and easy to blend out. I am a freak and actually like the paint tubes too! so...HA! Definite repurchase.

This is not a bad product - if I could give it three and a half lippies, I would because I feel like three lippies indicates that I'm more ambivalent about it than I am. It has some serious strong points - the somewhat rosy champagne color works great as a base, and the creamy consistency is easy to blend if you're going to wear it with other cream shadows. However, as a base... it's not that great, to be honest. It works fine (it keeps my shadow from creasing and makes it last longer, though that isn't so hard to achieve on my dry-to-normal skin), but the formula is sometimes tough to spread without blending the color away. Also, the packaging loses major points for me; as others have said, the shadow glops and oozes out of the tube so that you always end up with twice as much as you need on your fingers. For an eyeshadow base, I much prefer Shadesticks.

I prefer Bare Canvas as it is not as shimmery -- i find that once used my fingers and the rest of my face somehow becomes shimmery... (even when i use it with a brush!)... it is a very nice champagne colour nonetheless and works wonders as a base and really gives matte colours a kick... other than that... i will not purchase again (not that i need to worry as there is a lot of product and a little goes a long way)... i'd rather get Bare Canvas again
