This color isn't a great lid color on my NC45 complexion, but it's a very nice blending color going from lid to crease. When using Mac Romp on my lid and Mac Saddle on my crease, Suede is a nice blending color that compliments the two warm colors. Also, although it's considered a warm brown, it's more neutral on me.

Going back to my natural dark brown roots after six (!!) years as a platinum blonde has brought all sorts of new makeup challenges. Previously, the blondeness and paleness of my skin left a blank canvas that needed only a very light hand with makeup and colors really popped. Now colors that used to shine on their own look much different, and I have to apply a lot more of everything to make anything stick out.
I used to use MAC's Soft Brown as a crease or all-over lid color nearly on the daily as a blondie but now it looks much lighter and oranger and does nothing for the yellow undertones of my face. "Sallow" is the word I've feeling about the old face these days. It took me ages to find a brownie equivalent that set the right tone for my makeup and NYX's Suede is it!! It's also a medium brown but is much more of a true brown, a little bit deeper than Soft Brown and has the tiniest bit of sheen that gives it depth and richness. Glad I've found it!

This is my HG crease color when I use browns, greens, copper and bronze! It is a warmer medium brown that has a little red/orange in it. It makes by blue eyes pop, even when used with a neutral grouping of lid colors. I love coppers, rusts, bronzes and have a ton of them since they are the colors that really bring out my blue eyes, but I keep coming back to Suede as a perfect crease color. It gives me the depth at the crease that I need, but can be blended out or intensified depending on the overall look I am going for. The texture is beautiful and it blends like a dream. It has good pigmentation, and when used with UDPP or other base (I use all eye shadows with a base, so this is not a dig at the product) it lasts all day. I have pinkish coloring, and it does not look like "clay" or anything like that. It is simply beautiful and I have 2 backups just in case they discontinue since it does not seem to be getting the love it deserves!

As another reviewer mentioned ~ it's an orange, brown, clay like color. To bad, I was tired that night and didn't get to the reviews on the later pages. I have a yellow-orange skin tone and I do not like anything that makes my skin or eyes look sallow. I use flesh shadows to cover the "orange, clay tone" of my natural skin.
I'll say one positive thing, it looks absolutely beautiful with Ultimatum. Ultimatum is the prettiest NYX shadow there is ~ it beats Sahara, and all the rest of the lighter shades that I never thought were that great anyway.
Well, sticking to Suede, I tried to use it with the NYX Dark Brown Jumbo Pencil and it gave it some oomph. Sad thing is, I don't like to have to be creative with every item that I don't like to make it work, just so it won't be a waste of money. The problem is that there is not a store that sells NYX for at least 30 miles and some days I don't feel good ~ so it's internet purchases, site unseen. I will not buy this color again...

NYX Suede is a light golden brown shade that does not look anything like the above picture. I use it as a highlight shade on my brow bone, and for blending out harsh e/s lines. It's very pretty on my NC 43 skintone.

Suede is a basic medium brown with a slight shimmer. I definitely wouldn't call this frosty, unless they changed the formula recently. On a DDD this will look very natural/nude, kind of your lid but better. Not outstanding, but definitely not a bad shade to have.

Apparently a few unlucky peeps picked the wrong color for them, but there's nothing wrong with the product itself. I needed to expand my brown collection since I have too many cool taupes and needed some more warm browns. That being said, having cool undertones, I have to be careful not to get too warm, and this is the perfect brown for me to wear as a warm brown. It looks great in my crease with a darker cooler brown on my lids...really makes my blue eyes pop!

I bought this and brown online so I couldn't compare the shades. They are somewhat similar, although brown is slightly lighter and more orange. Additionally, this has slight shimmer to it, whereas brown is more-or-less matte. Personally, I don't think you need both. In the pan, it does not look like it would go on as warm as it does. I was hoping for something more neutral, hence the disappointment. This is nevertheless a fine choice if you are looking for a warm, basic brown for neutral, everyday looks. The quality of the shadow itself is very good - highly pigmented and easy to blend. Exceptional value for the price, and comparable to MAC shadows. Probably wouldn't repurchase, though, because I have soooo many warm browns.

What gives? I absolutely LOVE Suede, it's got the smooth blendable texture of other NYX shadows and is nicely pigmented as well. Suede is a nice clay color, orangey-brown and beautiful in the pan and on my crease. I've also found it to be my new HG for a brow filler, seeing as my redheadedness makes it hard to find anything that isn't too orangey or too dark. Would definitely repurchase, it's a beautiful color!

I am very impressed with the blendability, pigmentation and price of this shadow, however, this has too much shimmer for me. At 52, I do not want shimmer or frost on my lids, makes any crinkling very evident. That said, I like the color except for that. I am returning this.

This was my first NYX eyeshadow purchase. I like the packaging and I like that it is very pigmented. I wish the color looked better on me. It's a rich brown color with red undertones and unfortunately, this type of brown doesn't look good on my eyes (hence I took one lippie off). However, I do like the quality and I think many people looking for a brown eyeshadow will like this color. I got this as a single but I believe that this color can also be found in one of the NYX eyeshadow trios.
