I've been wearing the All Skins Mineral foundation in both liquid and powder form, and with winter right around the corner, I decided I needed a compact for additional coverage. The compact is perfect for touch-ups, and light coverage only. This foundation does a great job covering up the redness on my cheeks ~ I wouldn't use this all over my entire face, because it would be way too drying. My color choice was perfect ~ I've been wearing Y/O Vellum, and the color hasn't changed, and it's still a perfect match.

Once again, I am so happy that I can purchase PX foundation on their website. I didn't know what I was going to do if they went completely out of business...

One word description: SHEER. Not for me, but if I will admit it did not break out my sensitive skin, good for a wet or dry application, and like the spf. Good packaging b/c there is a separate place for the sponge.

I have finally found my HG! This is the first time I have EVER repurchased a foundation. I am fairly pale MAC NC20 and my perfect shade match is Y/O Champagne 04. It gives medium to full coverage, evens out the redness in my skin and covering minor blemishes. I still use an under eye concealer because I have terrible dark circles. But on days when I am in a hurry I can just use this, mascara, and lip balm. I have tried almost everything under the sun. This is exactly what I wanted. Nice coverage, not messy, easy to travel and take with me, doesn't irritated my easily irritated skin, never looks fake, greasy, or chalky. MAC irritated my skin, BE did not give enough coverage, Clinique is chalky on me, etc. Yah for finding my HG!
The ONLY thing I would change is the price. I did just get my 2nd one on sale 30% off right after Christmas but I don't think PX goes on sale very often.

This is my HG powder I LOVE it!!! Im so sad they're discontinuing it in stores and I don't live in the states so I can't order it online. This powder is amazing, I can wear it on top of any liquid foundation and it leaves my skin looking flawless, it somehow manges to have good coverage without being too heavy and it seems to last at least 8 hours if not more, (i cant say all day because my days can be loooooooonnng) i aslo wear prescriptives flawless primer. Sometimes i just wear a little primer and concealer for my blemishes and then the powder on top, instead of wearing it with a liquid, and it still looks great. Alot of people dont like the packaging it doesnt bother me, but ive dropped it a couple of times and the powder broke. The major downside of this product is that its expensive and you can hit the pan pretty fast, as a result I only use it once a day and use lancolm dual finish for touch ups if necessary during the day. I also apply it with a prescriptives flat buff brush which gives a realy nice even application without using too much product. Another bonus is that it comes in a great shade for my skin, since im mixed i often have a hard time getting the right match.
Anyways I guess im going to have to start looking around for a new HG powder since this ones no longer available, in the meantime ive stocked up with 6 powders but who knows how long they'll last!!

Excellent coverage but a little expensive for the amount of product. I've had to repurchase almost every 6 weeks. I have acne prone skin and this product doesn't seem to irritate my skin or cause breakouts. It's too bad that they will be closing their retail locations. I'm not a fan of ordering online so I'll be looking for a replacement pretty soon.

If you are acne proned ... DO NOT BUY! It will clog your pores. This powder is fantastic if you are not acne proned because it does brighten your complexion. Unfortunately my skin is acne proned. Since using this powder I've been suffering from terrible breakouts for months. This product is expensive and unreturnable at Holt Ren.

Earlier this year, my esthetician recommended Prescriptives to me after telling me my MAC Studio Fix that I've used for years and years could be a culprit for my acne. She explained to me that Prescriptives doesn't use any ingredients or fillers that would clog pores. I bought AnyWear in Sand, and I probably won't ever buy any other powder again! My skin has improved so much since switching to this. Although it is a powder foundation, I wear it over my liquid foundation and concealer and lightly reapply with it throughout the day. I love the flawless, matte finish it gives my face.

I went through 2 compacts of this stuff but I'm moving on after I finish the one I have now. I have oily, sensitive skin that's also acne prone and this didn't upset my skin when I used it on a daily basis. For a light dusting, this product is fine but I find that it doesn't look good if I try to build up coverage. The finish gets dry and powdery which can be fixed with a mist of toner or a quick buff with a damp kabuki. Don't get me wrong, this stuff is pretty decent but it's just not doing what I need my foundation to do right now. I need a little bit more coverage and want a different finish, so I'm going to try liquid fdtn...

After giving up on MMU, I wanted to try something that wouldn't be likely to break me out and would agree with my sensitive skin. Based on the reviews here on MUA, I figured Prescriptives would be a safe bet. The SA helped me find a good match and off I went.

However, I ended up returning this because I just wasn't impressed. I found that it looked rather dry and accentuated my fine lines around my eyes, which really aren't that bad. I didn't try it with a primer, because, frankly, I purchased this because I wanted something easy and didn't want to have to add a step. The packaging was okay, but I find it rather cheap looking. I also found this to be expensive for what I perceived to be drug-store quality. I don't think it caused any breakouts, but I didn't wear it often enough to give it an adequate test.

I've found a few other powder foundations at the drug store that seem to be on par with this that I'll use instead.

I love Prescriptives. I really liked MAC Studio Fix but that compact left my skin oily and I got little tiny breakout bumps. Nothing crazy. Prescriptives never made me break out. I get my usual break out but I blame that on hormones. I have really oily skin especially while I am at work because it's so cold and the a.c does that to my skin, but other than that the make up is good. Good coverage. You should need to find that perfect shade. Even when you are in certain lights, the make up doesnt look to fake on your skin. I wish it was cheaper. If anyone knows a good compact at Wal Mart thats just as good I will definaelty try for the price. Oh and the good thing about Prescriptives is you can exchange and return even if you used the product, it fell or broke, or you just dont like the color.

They got the shade spot on, but the powder was milled in such a way that it made me look chalky unless i spritzed myself with toner. The finish was nice enough after that. Another gripe I had was I really needed to buff this stuff on if i wanted even halfway decent coverage, so towards the end of it (which it only lasted for 5 weeks of business weekly application) I started to use it as a setting powder for my TM. For the price and all the work I had to put into it, I dont actually think it was worth it. I will admit that I liked to pull it out for touchups in front of my friends because of the stylish packaging. =]

I am off to buy my second compact of this.. (the downside is, it's only been a month and i'm already seeing the bottom of the pan.. ill probably be out in another two weeks but man, i cant go without this stuff!) I took a leap of faith and bought this (it was hard to fork up the $35 for this foundation) but i'm soooo glad I did!.. The coverage is not as heavy or fake looking as MAC studiofix was on me. I like full coverage, and I felt i still acheived that with this makeup. studiofix broke my face out so bad and I could always tell I was wearing it!.. But this little gem keeps my skin oil free and doesnt cause pimples (dare I say my face is starting to clear up?!) It took me two tries to find my perfect color (y/o tawny 29).. all b/c the friggin makeup lady tried to talk me into a color i knew was too light for me! (why do they do that?) Ditto, on the packaging. its sooo flimsy (in fact, i dropped the compact on the floor [the one i took back that wasnt my color] and the powder cracked!) The compact is sooo flimsy it def. feels cheap! oh well, the makeup is great (my hg, as of now!) and i wont take points off for a packaging flaw- esp. for something that makes my face look this magical and silky!! one more thing though.. if u have dry skin (my chin peeled for a few days from tanning bed) it will emphasize that!

SoooOOOOoooo smooth. It feels almost like suede. I like this a lot, it should come in more shades, if you get darker during the summer and find yourself in between shades you are screwed! I have mixed feeelings about this one.

This is absolutely the only foundation that does not make me look all shiny and greasy. I've tried so many foundations. Liquids, powders, you name it I've tried it. This seems to have good control of oilies and good coverage all in one. I also love the matte foundation in the liquid, but this is good for everyday because you don't have to deal with the liquid when your running around in the mornings. I don't have a lot to hide I am pretty comfy with my skin but I do like a lot coverage. If your on the search for a great foundation that lasts a long time and your skin is oily and has breakouts every now and then. Give this stuff a whirl. You wont be dissapointed.

i am buttered tan in edm and nc 35 in mac. sand is a great match for me. the coverage is medium to full and stays put for most of the day. i get a shiney t zone after 5 hrs which only needs touch up w/ my mac blot powder. i wash, tone, then moisturize everyday so there's no flakeys. this is comparable to mac's studio fix but w/o the breakouts. but not as natural looking as lorac's foundation powder.

I had been wanting a pressed powder foundation for a while, as I was tired of the time it took to do my entire routine with liquid makeup. When I went to the beauty department, I was originally interested in Clinique's Almost Real makeup, but the MA said that Px was her specialty, so she color printed me as a Light 01 B/R. She was so sweet, even color printing me twice to get the perfect match! She then sold me Camellia (22), and I love it. Keeps me pretty matte, and the color match is exact. The only thing I noticed is that it was a little uneven on the parts of my face where I had cream concealer, so I think you have to do moisturizer or primer or something to get it to stick evenly. Great product, and I am now a converted Prescriptives customer!

UPDATE: I still really do like this, the color match is perfection. I think that there isn't as much product in here as others, because I hit the pan fairly quickly. This works best with an oil-controlling primer, and I am thinking that I will try Murad's new mattifier underneath.

UPDATE: I have decided that this is my HG foundation. The color match is seamless, works great with cream concealer underneath (I use Prescriptives and TheBalm), keeps my face relatively matte in conjunction with Murad's mattifier, applies easy with a kabuki (I prefer EDM's). Truly perfect. I will not stray, going to purchase my third compact soon!

this was my first foray into powder foundation and it got me so excited about them that i kindof binged and started trying out a bunch of different ones. but im back to say that this one is the best ive found so far.

the first great thing about prescriptives, as a whole, is that they offer so many shades for pale people. so of course its a great color match for me. second, application: i only use this dry. i use a smallish, dense blending brush and just swipe it on everywhere. it evens out my skintone beautifully, doesnt cake, and leaves a perfect, smooth, matte finish. typically i dont even have to follow with concealer or powder. just some blush and im done. soooo fast and easy!

and of course (no product could earn a 5 from me without this), no breakouts! it stays on all day and, even when the inevitable oil breakthrough occurs around noon, i just blot with a tissue and im back to normal--no streaking, rub-off etc.

i do have to admit that i like New York Color's Smooth Mineral compact powder foundation and truly feel like it is as good as anywhere. HOWEVER, there is such a ridiculously small amount in NYC's pan that i was buying one a month which, at $5, is not necessarily expensive, just inconvenient.

so for acne-prone folks looking for a great powder foundation that offers light to medium, matte coverage without clogging pores, this is for you!
