A great drugstore buy. It's a nice fuscia lipgloss with a purple sheen. It changes colour in the light but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a duochrome. It looks great on its own, it fades from a nice bright pink-purple to a nice bright pink. It also works well layered over other lipsticks, I really like wearing it over MAC Impassioned.
It has the same kind of artificial cherry-candy smell the other NYX mega shines have. I personally don't mind it but it doesn't appeal to everyone. It could wear longer but for a drugstore product it's decent.

I bought African Queen in 2007, and I'd kill to find the color at a local store. This was my favorite and first lip gloss with color. This lip gloss is absolutely beautiful!

My HG lip gloss! This color is so beautiful on my NW45 skin! Being a WOC my pink lip choices are already limited but this color which is a blue based fuchsia is so pretty on me. I can wear it alone or on top of NYX Fusion lipstick for a more pigmented look. It wears for a good 3-4 hours without a touchup. Beautiful affordable color and WOC friendly. Check it out!

A gorgeous bright warm fuchsia that’s greatly purple based with red tones. It also has extremely tiny electric icy purple/blue duo chrome shimmers giving it dimension. I wear this on top of Mac’s violetta & line the lips with Mac vino. A great trio with shades all complements each other. Since its red based I must pair it with a darker lip liner & lip color because red based fuchsias require manipulation for my neutral skin tone.

This is a very cool color...............fushia with purple shimmer.
But I am giving it a 3 because I honestly don't think I will wear it much.
The color looks really weird on me, maybe the color just clashes with me skin tone or something.
I only purchased the African Queen because during my research on various NYX lip gloss colors, many blogs kept recommending this color as the "wonderful surprise".
I would recommend this color to darker skinned girls ~
Me in my light asian skin tone.........looks like I am prepping for Halloween.

As always, one of my favourite lip gloss and this summer I have not been able to get enough of this shade! It's unlike anything I have in my collection. It sways both pink and purple and I love the bold look it draws to my face. And like most of their lipglosses, these are pigmented, non-sticky, and long-lasting! I think it's worth having in a collection, it's definitely interesting!

For reference, I'm NW45/NC50/Revlon ColorStay Cappucino with full pigmented lips. It's fuchsia with blue tones that gives me moderate coverage. It's like the lip gloss version of Revlon Wild Orchid. It looks great on my complexion, but I don't wear it all the time b/c I don't feel the blue tones are appropriate for professional settings.

I love NYX's Mega shine lip glosses and this is another great shade. It probably looks better on darker skin-tones (not a huge fan of pale skin and dark lips) but the quality is really good. It has a strong cherry scent (that reminds a lot of people of cough syrup) but I think it's one of the best tasting/smelling lip glosses out there. Would repurchase.
P.S. - This lip gloss is not to be confused with NYX's Round lip gloss in Queen of africa which is similar but the color is slightly darker.

i'm the brown girl in the pic above with african queen on.
it's awesome! this is one of the best color and texture lipglosses i've had in a long while. the color looks wonderful against my nw43 (brown) skin. it lasts, smells light and pleasant, isn't sticky, can be worn with liner or over lipstick, is buildable. it has the flat spongey brush but it's not an issue, application is a breeze. i'm super happy with this. not a bad thing to say!
** i find this works optimally over lipstick. when i wear it alone the color is great but it fades faster and i get a few peelies. i'm sure that's just the nature of lipgloss but i won't wear this alone, only over lipstick going forward **

I'm a very VERY pale...this is a bold, duo-chrome pink and purple color and I LOVE how this looks against my skin. I never liked the megashine gloss since I have their shade in Natural which is too brownish for me to be natural (pale girls, you know what I mean) and I thought the gloss felt goopy. But I actually really love the formulation on this, it's very smooth. I give it a thumbs up. I only wish it would of come closed in Ulta...imagine who might of put their lips on the applicator before me? They really need to do something about that....
I ADORE this type of duo-chrome purple-blue-pink shade, I love love love lippies this color.

This lipgloss is EPIC. I love the color so much and have yet to find any drugstore lipgloss like it! It is the perfect combination of pink and purple! I wear this during the day and at night. It is a super pigmented, super bright color, so if you're afraid to stand out, I would not recommend this shade for you, because that is exactly what you're going to do! LOVE IT.

Now this lip gloss is seriously cool. The shade is amazing, I love how it changes in the light; purple, pink and violet. Gorgeous!
I wish it had a doe foot wand, but that's all I didn't like about the packaging.
With that said, here's a few pros and cons.
Pros
-gorgeous colour.
-it fades very prettily.
-can be modified depending on what lipstick you wear it over.
-very cheap.
Cons
-has a plastic smell.
-feathers a bit when worn on its on.
-not the best wear.
Despite the cons, I give this four lippies, 'cause it's such a lovely colour, and it's good for such a small dollar.

Beautiful shade! I'm a PPP and it looks pretty good on me. The formula is great, it's not sticky and gunky.
Like the label applies, it is *very* shiny.
This lipgloss is buildable so you can go from day to night looks easily.
This is my first NYX product and definitely not my last.
I do, however, have to knock off a star because its wand applicator is bent at a very awkward angle which makes it difficult to use and it smells very sickeningly sweet, much like strong cherry kool-aid.
EDIT: if you're looking for lipstick (especially cheap lipstick) in a (very) similar color/shade, I highly recommend NYC's 405 Blue Rose.

Yes, I love this lipgloss! This was the first NYX lipgloss that I bought; I had been dying to try these for a long time. I love that this gloss is sooo pigmented! It is very important to me that the color on my lips is the same as the color in the tube. This does not leave an annoying stickiness on my lips, but rather feels natural and light. the only thing is, it smells almost like sickly sweet bubblegum. So, if you are sensitive to smell, beware. But, it does not bother me and the smell will fade after wearing for awhile. It is definitely a bold shade, what you see is what you get, but you can always sheer it out with a neutral gloss on top. Awesome color!

A perfect "POW!" pink if ever I've seen one. Very smooth in terms of application and the gloss feels light while on. As for the colour...this is NOT for the faint of heart. It's bright and bold and juicy, but can be toned down for work if you just dot a bit in the center of the lips and spread over the expanse. Very nice colour for brown girls!

I was on the fence about this but I ordered it anyway when cherryculture had a 50% sale. I thought it was a cliche dark skin girl color that I don't really like, but I was so pleasantly surprised. It's not as bad on as in the tube. I love love love this color. And even at the regular price of $5.50 it's a steal compared to MAC Lip or Dazzleglasses.

I was pleasantly surprised by this color. I have used NYX glosses in the past and I like them. A deep fuschia color with slight irridescence. It works on my dark skin, surprisingly--even without a lip liner. Pop of color.

Gorgeous, gorgeous color. Only problem is I'm having trouble finding times to wear it, lol. I tried a thicker layer at work one day and got a strange look from my boss. So typically I put some balm on and smooth a dot onto each lip, and tada! Pretty pink lips. I don't care for the smell, for me it's like a fake green apple and it's very strong but whatevs. I love my NYX glosses.
