My hair is thick, not colored, but prone to frizz in the heat. After using the Shielo Hydrate line, my hair doesn't feel at all frizzy, and the Antioxidant leave in protectant spray just tops it all off perfectly. You can expect to feel a difference in your hair after the first application, I would say.

The shampoo and conditioners are very thick, so they don't drop through your fingers down the drain. But you will need to work it through your hair. Personally, I like that a lot, I lose a lot of money slipping through my fingers down the drain!

I have been using this spray for years; my hair isn't the same without it. Never has there been a better defender against humidity! I use it as a finishing spray every time I blow out my hair and I think this is what keeps it straight and sleek for the next few days. Humidity, rain, sweat - no match for this stuff. Gives a bit of shine before it dries, and dries "clean", without weighing down hair or leaving it with any residue. The bottles are huge and can last quite a while, depending on how much you use, but I'm sure I've had times where I have used the same bottle for a year +. Definitely recommend this if you want smooth, sleek hair - and who doesn't?

I can't rave enough about this product. I have short, bobbed hair that I have struggled for YEARS with to get it to lie straight in the front. I have a big swatch of hair on either side of my face that just wants to CURL...doesn't respond to straightening balms or sprays or gels or ANYTHING with any kind of consistency. Recently my stylist introduced me to this product, and I'm never going back! I work outside a lot--often in heat and humidity--and with this spray, my hair ACTUALLY STAYS FLAT. It gives it a nice, silky texture, even into the second day after washing. I load up the curly areas with it before I use my flatiron and then add a little afterwards, and voila. A little pricey, but SOOOOO worth it.

This review is for the smooth and seal product.

I love this - as are so many of us who frequent this site, I'm a product junkie, so if I re-purchase something without trying another product first, I know I've found a HG. I'm on probably my third can of this (with a fourth stashed away), and it never disappoints.

I've got long (bra strap length) hair that's naturally wavy, but only in the back. (I know - makes absolutely no sense!) I usually blow it dry and then roll it on large hot rollers, and I use my Smooth and Seal immediately after I've finished drying my hair. It seems to tame the areas that tend to be frizzy even after I've blown it dry. (My hair is thick, so I rarely have time to section and dry it properly.)

After I take my hair down from the rollers, I give it a last light spritz with the Smooth and Seal, which leaves it noticeably smoother and shinier without weighing it down or feeling greasy. In fact, one of the things I love most about this product is that it does what it's supposed to do and nothing it isn't: Smooths the hair and seals out the frizz, but doesn't leave my hair heavy at all.

I also love the scent - I find it very fresh and light, not at all overpowering or cloying.

When this product existed in the old packaging, I would use it on dry hair as an instant shine spray and it did a very good job of that. However, when they brought this out in the new packaging (dark grey bottle with pink cap), it no longer worked on dry hair. I tried following the instructions and using it prior/during blowdrying and it did the opposite of what it said. Hair ended up frizzier than usual. I'm assuming this is because of the high alcohol content in the product - it just dries hair out and leaves the moisture all out of balance. Halfway empty, the bottle became defective for no reason. Won't be buying it again. Disappointing.

Ok I will give it to everyone who has rated that this product does a descent job at what it claims-

HOWEVER- I did repost a BETTER picture of the product because I'm not sure how many of these reviews are for the Smooth and Seal product and how many are for the Smooth and Protect product. A smooth and protect picture is what is and that is incorrect.

To be honest, I cannot really comment too much on the performance of this product because the SMELL totally RUINED it for me. It smells like cheap "out dated" lady perfume... and it's suffocating. During the few weeks that I wore the product, I had many comments about my "nasty" or "awful" perfume I was wearing- ***while wearing no perfume, but recently applying the hair product*** I seriously knocked 2 lippies for the smell alone.

It does make my hair shiny when applied but didn't find anything great about the product to rave about

I bought this based on the reviews here to get some smooth and shine to my damaged hair I got from a color correction (had to bleach out some too dark color). I like this, I'm not sure if I love it yet. However, I have not used it with a blow dryer - mainly because I didn't want to apply any heat to my dry already damaged hair. Now that my damage is practically gone, I'm going to use you girl's advice and try it with the blow dryer. I don't use this every time either. But regardless, I do really like this spray and I plan to repurchase. It takes care of frizz and gives my hair a little shine.

This stuff is great. I use it when blowdrying my hair and it definitely helps to decrease frizzyness. My hair looks smooth and polished, with this. It doesn't really "seal" my hair, that is, preserve the style, my hair has a mind of its own and by the end of the day will be doing what it wants. But this product still makes it look good for at least a few hours, which I'm happy with. It's not super cheap, but I imagine it will last a fair amount of time. I took some points off for the packaging, because, though I find it cute, the little spray cap thing broke off almost immediately somehow. Luckily I was able to reattach it, but still. Also, I should note that this has a pretty strong, chemically smell. It doesn't really bother me but I could see how some might not like it.

This is good.

We are having the most humid summer this year and my fine strawberry blond hair tends to flip and frizz. I have tried soooo many products both expesive and drug store brands and have found nothing really works that well, until this....... it actually works!!

Buying this was a total accident. I meant to grab a travel sized super hold hairspray to take on vacation with me. I was a little miffed since this did nothing for my hair at the time But once I got home, read the directions and tried it I adored it. At the time I was straightening my hair with a flat iron once it was air dried (usually I just went to bed with wet hair and straightened in the AM) I would spray this after I was done straightening then run the blowdryer over my hair. AMAZING. My hair was sooooooo soft and shiny. I got a lot of compliments on it. Even my dad and hair stylist noticed. It really sealed in my straightened hair too. Sometimes my hair will get a little wave to it by the end of the day, not with this. By the end of the day my hair still looked pretty much the same. I think a lot of people are probably just spraying this on and going out the door- It will not work that way. Trust me I have tried it. The blow dryer is crucial.

I have frizzy naturally curly hair. I put this on right before I straighten and it gives good shine and makes my hair soft. However, it does not always do the trick for the frizz unless I apply it very liberally. Overall a good product though.

This product only minimally reduced the frizz in my naturally curly hair. It did add some nice shine though. However, after using this product just once I developed an allergic reaction on my neck (dry, flaky and a rash). Therefore, I will not be using this product again. Also, it made my hair feel oily and greasy. It did not feel clean. I do not recommend this product.

PROS: Finally a shine product for my dry ends that weighs it down the least of all I've tried (I have fine hair.) Lasts forever; I've had mine for years and use it quite a bit.

CONS: Smell isn't fantastic.

ALTERNATES: Cheaper dupe that is slightly less oily is Salon Grafix - Invisible Dry Spray CONDITIONER.

I LOVE this. I don't usually love hair products because my hair is straight and smooth and typically, hair products don't do much to make it worse or better, so I feel apathetic about them. I spray this on after I wash my hair and before I blowdry it. After spraying all over, I just run my hands through my hair to distribute the product evenly. This makes my hair feel SO smooth and soft. It's so strange, because my hair isn't even tangled or frizzy or anything after I wash it, but this just somehow makes it even smoother! LOVE it.

Love this stuff!! It's light and doesn't weigh down my thick wavy hair. I spray from the midlengths down. It smells great. What i really love is that it makes my dark hair shiny. Would buy again..

I LOVE this product! It is an aerated anti-frizz spray that seems like it sprays 'air' onto your head. You can't really feel the product in your hair and the first time I used it I kept spraying and spraying because I wasn't sure if it was in my hair. SHC's site says that it has an 'Ocean Blossom' scent but to me, it has a bit of a chemical/hairspray scent. Although I'm sensitive to scents, it doesn't bother me at all, and it definitely doesn't linger. I started using this about two months ago, in the humid summer. I've used it alone with excellent results, but for the past month I've been using it in conjunction with SHC's Leave-In and Darn Straight. My hair is problem-free in winter/spring/fall but tends to get dry/rough/frizzy in summer humidity. This is the first summer that my hair has behaved in humidity. Although it does get slightly wavy, I virtually have no frizz/poof in high summer humidity and my hair stays smooth. I've used it on towel-dried hair as well as on dry hair before flatironing. I also don't feel any build-up at all. Amazing product, especially when used with the other two I mentioned. Definitely HG - I will buy again and again. I can't wait to see how it performs in good weather (winter/spring/fall). I pay approximately $18. for approximately 8 oz.

I wish this worked as well for my hair as it apparently does for everyone else's. I don't think that this spray is either fantastic or terrible. I have very curly hair that I straighten regularly, so the slightest bit of humidity in the air will cause my hair to frizz. When I use this product, my hair looks pretty decent immediately after styling, but by the time I get to the office, I have a halo of frizzies. I think it does cut down on frizz, but my hair isn't as amazing and frizz-free as everyone else's apparently is. I like that this is an aerated anti-frizz spray, because it is very light-weight and doesn't leave my hair looking greasy like some other products do. I'm not too disappointed with how this product works, but my hair isn't that much frizzier if I don't put anything in it, and for nearly $20, I think this should give me better results than THAT. Alternately, an excessive amount of this product will work out most of my frizz, but it also leaves my hair flat, deflated, and stringy, which doesn't really seem like the best solution. I've used drugstore products that are no worse than this one, so I don't think I'll be repurchasing this stuff.

My stylist used this on my hair when I had it done about a week ago. I loved the smell and the results so I purchased a can. The first time I used it my hair was dry and I essentially used it as a flat iron spray. It did an o.k. job. I loved the shine.

When I used it the second time I decided to use it when my hair was damp. I sprayed it on and then blow dried my hair.
AMAZING RESULTS! I didn't have to flat iron after my blow dry. Usually there are little hairs sticking up after I blow dry. Not this time. Super shiny, very silky hair, no greasiness like most shine products and NO STATIC!!!

I will purchase again and again and again.

I absolutely love this product .... have been using this for two weeks and this has truly helped my hair look even better. I do, however, use this product differently than most others as I DO NOT use this as a styling aid in straightening, but rather I spray this on when my hair is wet (and after using other styling products) and I let my hair air dry and the result is that I have very shiney hair and my wavy/curly hair is looser but yet has a more defined wave pattern as well as another plus is that this makes my hair super soft ...... this product does everything it states it does and I would recommend this even to those who do not blow-dry or straighten their hair, as it works great for those who air-dry their curls/waves.

P.S. I rarely use heat on my hair however, a few time I have used hot rollers when I want a more done up look compared to my normal air-dryed curl look, and spraying this product on dry hair before rolling, gives me very shiney and soft hair ...... no stiffness or crunch as I sometimes get when using heat appliances but instead nice curls ....... this item is a definite HG for me.

After reading about this product on here, I had been wanting to buy it forever. However, because of the stiff price in the salon I kept putting it off. I ran across the HUGE can at TJMaxx today for $7.99 so I snatched it up. We were travelling and I could not wait to try it out once we returned home. After washing my hair with the new Pantene shampoo and conditioner (Beautiful Lengths w/ Aquacurrents) and letting it air dry for a bit I was ready to try the Smooth & Seal out! For reference, I have thicker blonde (colored and highlighted) hair with a natural wave to it. It isn't the nice kind of wave either, it is the annoying one that just gets frizzier and bigger as the day goes by if I leave it curly. So, I normally wash and blow dry at night and run my Chi through it lightly and then it just takes a new small run through in the AM. I wash every other day and sometimes every two days if I use Pssssst spray inbetween blow outs. Ok, back to the spray..LOL...It worked wonderfully. I used it while blow drying and then sprayed again while straightening. I then had to go outside and get our mail in the HUMID HUMID air and when I came back in, no frizzies (which I would have normally have had). THEN, just to test it out some more I went out and picked up the kids toys in our backyard which let me outside for around 30 more minutes. Came back in, looked in the mirror and SAME style :) We will have to see how it does through the night and how it looks in the AM and throughout tomorrow at work, but so far I AM LOVING IT! PS--I had just purchased a product by Beyond the Zone from Sally's and it works well too, kind of reminds me of this BUT, it was almost to heavy on my hair where as this is ALOT lighter with a very nice scent. Hope this review is helpful for another person wondering about trying this out :)
