I should have read the reviews before buying this. While I think this does a good job of cleaning my teeth, it does irritate my gums a bit. I have not noticed any staining or peeling thank goodness. I do find this an average toothpaste. I usually follow up with the matching mouthwash and I think that has helped get rid of the filmy aftertaste this leaves. I will still use up my tube until something better comes along.

This toothpaste smells & tastes good + gets your teeth really clean, but it makes the insides of my gums peel so bad. I wont repurchase or in a full size. There are effective & less harsh toothpastes out there.

I ran out of this tooth paste and decided to try sensodyne which was horrible! This toothpaste leaves my breath nice and refreshed and my teeth feeling squeaky clean!!

I got a sample tube of this several months back, and used it today for the first time. Verdict? Yuck. I will never find out if it's any good for my teeth or not, because the taste is too disgusting to ever fathom putting it onto my toothbrush and into my mouth again. Brushing, it tastes oddly chemical-sweet. Five minutes later, and I'm wondering why the taste in the back of my mouth, clinging to my soft palate and the back of my tongue, isn't going away. It's gummy and tastes faintly of that supremely unpleasant period of time after you've finished throwing up but before you've had a chance to haul yourself up to the sink and rinse your mouth out. I brushed again with a different toothpaste, and gargled, and I can still taste it right now. Crest. Something has gone Very Wrong here.

Glad to know that none of us have sudden gum issues (SGI)!!
I think it will take several weeks before I regain the feeling in my mouth again...my gums are so sore and red, and feel as if they have first degree burns on them.
I HATE this toothpaste and the government agency that approved it safe for consumer use! Oh my gosh...if I continued this acid wash, I am convinced my teeth would start to fall out next!

Like some other MUAers, I also noticed soft, white strings on the inside on my cheeks after I use this. It's the skin sloughing off. Blech. I don't know what ingredient causes this but it's not normal and I don't like it.

Never buy any Crest Tooth pastes! They suck! I used it again cause my dad said oh do you wanna buy a different brand? And I thought, oh I'll just use this one up till I get paid again and no I'm going back to my Arm & Hammer. That leaves my teeth feeling clean and it doesn't leave the white stringy cheek lining in my mouth. And I actually just realized that my teeth have been more sensitive then usual and I think the tooth paste is causing us sensitivity. If someone could post a list of toothpastes that don't cause you to have a dry mouth, or those stringy white things in your mouth, let me know and shoot me an email. Meliabird300@yahoo.com or just send me a message on here. :)

I just wanted to write this review as a warning. When I last went to the dentist, she asked me if I had been using Crest Pro-health. I told her yes, and she told me that an ingredient in it causes brown stains that are as bad as those caused by smoking. I HAD BROWN STAINS ON MY TEETH CAUSED BY MY TOOTHPASTE! I was horrified and vowed to myself I will never, ever buy Crest toothpaste again.

Yuck! I wish I had seen these reviews before I bought a two-pack of this. I thought "crest--should be good?"
Not having a fresh minty taste I can get over, but the weird chemical smell/taste? It struck me while driving around and seeing a portapotty, that weird smell is like the stuff they put in portapotties to make them not smell so bad....ewww why would I want that smell coming from my toothpaste? Threw it away...the few times I did use it, I wouldn't say my teeth didn't feel clean, just my mouth still seemed to feel yucky...

I like the stand up tube that this product comes in, but that's pretty much all I like about it. The toothpaste doesn't foam up as much as I'd like when I'm brushing, so when you spit it out it's a little runny. The main issue I've had is that a short while after I've brushed, I notice there's a nasty, white, gooey film on the inside of my lower lip. At first I thought there was something wrong with my teeth, but it appears that other people have had this problem as well. It also doesn't make me feel very minty or clean after brushing. I'm sticking to Mentadent or Colgate.

Please do not buy this!!!
I bought it thinking it would be a good tooth paste but within a couple weeks I had major problems. At first I thought I had a sore throat and then the back of my tongue hurt as well. The next day my lower gums were red and irritated. I didnt know what the problem was and was worried I had thrush or something. My tongue and cheeks had white sores which I now realize were spots where my skin was eaten off. I finally started searching this tooth paste online once my husband mentioned it was possibly the cause. There are many warnings online about this stuff. I haven't been eating much cause my mouth is so raw and sore. Please take this poison off the market!!!

It tastes horrible, but it instantly resolved my sensitivity after months of "sensitive" toothpaste failed to. In fact, while using a "sensitive tooth" toothpaste (Sensodyne clone) I actually developed sensitivity at the back of two teeth, and repeated use failed to reduce it. I switched to Pro-Health and after one use the sensitive spot wasn't any more. I wish I didn't have to use this because of its taste/aftertaste, but I'll stick with it.

I agree it doesnt leave your mouth feeling minty, but it does leave my teeth feeling very clean. I rather like the feeling of having just clean teeth rather than in your face minty sensation. Cleans teeth extremely well. My dentist recommends it.

Okay, like the others I have to agree- the aftertaste of this toothpaste is not minty, it doesn't leave you with a fresh traditional toothpaste-y taste in your mouth. It's not an awful taste though, it is definitely something I can live with.
This does leave me with very clean feeling teeth. They are smooth and clean, not gritty, even after eating. I love that, and I'd rather have clean teeth than a nice aftertaste. This is definitely something I would buy again.

Thanks MUA for reassuring me that I wasn't alone with how revolting this toothpaste is!! I too had the same experiences of having white gooey film in my mouth and sloughing of mucous membranes. Freaked me out as I thought I was having dental or gum issues!! As soon as I stopped using this product the disgusting film and sloughing ceased. It's was a relief to know it was the toothpaste and others have shared in this experience too.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this toothpaste left a film in my mouth (white, gooey clumps). DISGUSTING! I've been suspecting it was this toothpaste since it's the only new product in my dental care regime. It's a relief to know it's the toothpaste and not something wrong with my teeth/gums. I'll be chucking remainder of toothpaste---I don't even want to fathom the side effects from continued use.
