The bits of dried fruit do fall out and serve no purpose other than being decorative (which is very LUSH, isn't it?). This doesn't particularly bother me, but some people don't care for it. Overall a winner. It has a great, creamy lather and a soft scent.

Honestly I don't smell anything. Very creamy tho. I would recommend to anyone with dry skin. The "stuff " kinda falls out here and there but no big deal. If it smelled like something I might buy it again

This is my very first lush product. I was trying to choose a soap in the store and the sales lady practically forced me to buy this one, and I'm glad she did!
I guess I'm quite fortunate because I didn't get a chunk with the berry topping, so I have nothing to say about that.
I didn't really care for the scent at first, but it grew on me; I feel it smells really clean, like freshly washed linen, which is very nice.
It lathers up beautifully and leaves your skin squeaky clean.
But the amazing part was when I got out of the shower and dried up: my skin has NEVER felt so SOFT. Seriously, this is amazing, I can't stop touching my arms, I feel like a newborn baby!
So the only downside (and the reason I gave it only 4 lippies), is that it melts extremely quickly. I'm not even sure it will last me a week. I bought a 100g chunk, cut it in half, stored one of the halves in the fridge, and keep the other in the shower. I've used it only twice and the soap is already tiny!
I will definitely repurchase, but probably use it only when my skin needs extra moisture.
But overall, it's a great product I would recommend.

Unfortunately I love this product! I say unfortunately because while I love the smell and how calm and soft it makes my skin feel I find it dissolves almost instantly-even if I take it out the shower between showers. I've found this to be the most uneconomical of LUSH's soaps. Also, I don't see the point of the stuff in the top and have been cutting the top layer of the soap off before using it-therefore essentially getting half of the product. If this lasted longer, and I got more soap per 100gm instead of wasteful food products I'd be all over this like a rash! Unfortunately I'll only repurchase if my skin is in desperate need of something calming. Even then I'll probably turn to my 'dream wash'. If only dream wash was more lathering.....

First I got a sample of this after going bananas shopping in my Lush store. I didn't think I would care for it at all, I saw all the other soaps and this was the least appealing looking - white with chunks of something weird, like a cheese. But boy was I wrong, the scent grew on me and I really started to love it. It's really creamy, it's like it melts in my hand, like butter almost, making it melt away really fast. I put it in the refrigerator so it didn't melt and hoping it would dry up some so it lasts longer. I have already repurchased, and would do it again - I love the scent!
EDIT: I just wanted to say that when you wash yourself with water after rubbing this on to your body, your skin feels squeky. After you dried it CAN be drying, I found my skin a little less soft than usual.

i think it smells floral as opposed to fruity as most ppl think
My bar came in wrap, which i dont like. This is my first lush soap and i wanted it to come in a paper bag like everything else.
Its expensive. my 8 x 6 x 3.5 cm bar cost 88 Hong Kong dollars.
Everyone says it runs out fast. I havent used a lot of mine yet tho, so I dont know if its true. However, what i do to make my bars last a little longer: 1.air dry it often. 2. dry the hand holding the soap and rub it on to the wet surface of your other hand or your body. 3. dont rub too much. This one doesnt lather a lot.+ A little goes a long way.
besides washing my hands and body, i use this for my makeup brushes. swiping a wet brush just once or twice is enough and removes everything. I used to put a little hair oil on my brushes after wash to protect the ends but i dont have to do that ne more bcus this is so moisturising. My brushes are now suprr clean, soft and smell wonderful ~

At first glance, it's not the most interesting looking of the LUSH line, but it's one of the most moisturizing, which is important to me since I usually reserve these "specialty" soaps mainly for hand-washing. I wash my hands A LOT, and most products will dry and crack my skin, but with Sultana, the creamy lather makes my skin feel clean, not stripped. The scent seems to be pretty popular, although I wasn't "wowed" at first.... it IS long lasting and I've come to enjoy the organic scent. I washed my hands before running errands, and I could still catch a whiff of the creamy fragrance upon returning a couple hours later. I could do without the bits of dried apricot or berries. All in all I think this one gets high marks for being unique, natural, and good for your skin.

It smells fruity and creamy. I melts in your hands when you touch it. It has a creamy lather but not a very bubbly one. I bought this because I wanted a moisturizing soap and it smells so good. I think it is moisturizing but I would still but on body lotion after a shower. I generally use this as a body soap but it is also a nice hand soap. The smell lingers on my hands longer than on my body. I wish it stayed longer as it smells lovely.
Lush soap tend to melt in the shower so do not leave it in there after use. 100q will las me about a month and a half if i use it everyday. I will be buying this again.

I don't quite like this soap :( This retails for US$5.95 for a 3.5oz bar. As stated on its packaging, 'Creamy bar with dried fruits and a subtle fruity perfume.' This is milky-white in colour, with bits of dried apricots. I think that my piece of soap was cut off somewhere from the center or the bottom of the block, as there were quite little bits of fruits in my sample. I was told that this was one of the most moisturizing soaps from Lush, hence this is probably more suitable for people with dry skin. Actually, it was so creamy that it melts when you touch it. It must be stored in a cool and dry place, as my sample 'melted' and became soft even when stored under normal room conditions. I took it out and aired it overnight before usage, hoping to 'cure' it but it still melted very fast in the shower. It does not lather, and my skin felt slightly moisturized after I showered. Actually, I prefer glycerin-based soaps which normally leaves a squeaky-clean feeling on my skin. I still use body lotion after this and it don't feel like I over-moisturized my skin. This smells sweet and fruity, but the scent was more subtle as compared to other Lush products such as Godmother soap. Hence, its suitable even for people who are highly sensitive to fragrances. However, one of the downsides was that this soap was used up very fast. I also don't really understand the point of putting fruit pieces in the soap. I understand if the fruit pieces can lightly exfoliate your skin. However, in Sultana of Soap, there are too little fruit pieces for any purpose. Furthurmore, I read that Lush uses minimal levels of preservatives in their products. The random thoughts of rotting bits of fruits in this soap slightly bothers me. Also, based on how fast I used my sample, a 100g bar of soap will probably only last me up to 35 days. As a poor student, I can't afford to buy Lush soaps every month as there are so many cheaper alternatives in the market. I scoured the internet for the following tips on how to make your Lush soaps last longer:
1. Cut your soaps into rectangular 10g blocks.
2. Cure your soaps overnight before usage.
3. Put your soaps in a netting during usage. This helps with lathering.
4. Always wet your skin instead of the soap during usage.
5. Keep it away from moisture as much as possible. I always air-dry my soaps in the netting after usage. Lush tried to sell me those metal tins (SGD$10) to keep their soaps in, but I always feel that air-drying your soaps in the netting drains water away from the soap faster as compared to water evaporating from the soap in the metal tin, prolonging the lifespan of your soap :)
I will recommend this product to anybody who likes creamy soaps. I look forward to try other Lush soaps, and I will enjoy the rest of this sample but I will not repurchase this soap again :)
Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Rapeseed Oil and Coconut Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Perfume, Dried Apricots, Dried Currants, Titanium Dioxide, Glycerine, Dried Cranberries, Olibanum Oil, Bergamot Oil, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate.

Placed a big lush order last week and recieved a good sized sample of this soap.
The soap itself melts very quickly so a huge chunk will not last long. The smell is amazing so sweet but like a baby talc smell will buy a chunk next time

Oh my frikken god! I have this in my room right now and I just keep smelling it! It smells soooo good! Now my room smells like a lush store :')! This is my favorite lush soap. I'm afraid to use it because I don't want to run out of it, I just want to smell it all day xD After I use it my hands are squeaky clean, not that moisturized that I thought it would make them but they don't got that horrible dry feeling afterwards so this doesn't bother me. It has chunks of apricots at the top and omg I can't get enough of this soap!! I will head back to the store and buy a huge chunk of this and have small pieces in my toilet bag and in my bathroom just to feel like I'm living in a lush store! Omg ... :')

I did a lot of research on the Lush site before I went into the store and I was instantly attracted to Sultana because of the description. Outside research also revealed it was one of Lush's most moisturizing soaps which is a crucial factor for me in purchasing bar soaps because most bar soaps leave my skin very dry. The smell is just amazing, as others have said it's hard to describe -to me it smells like a soft powdery musky floral, but with more emphasis on the soft musk notes rather than the floral notes. I love the scent, and I think it's a perfect elegant soap scent. I didn't mind that it had some exfoliating bits in it, for me it didn't take away from the creaminess nor did it irritate my skin. I was sort of annoyed with the berry fallout which is why I gave the soap 4 stars. It would probably be perfect to me if Lush took out the berries. I don't think they serve any functional purpose after all. I think this is a great soap for the summer especially if you live in a humid area because it leaves your skin feeling moisturized, but not overly oily. It's probably because this soap does not lather up, it's almost like a "lotion soap" so it doesn't remove the natural oils from your skin. I moved to New York for school from California, and the summers here are just too humid to put on lotion after you shower. You end up with really sticky gross skin, so this soap is a great summer soap for me. I would say this soap is good for people who are looking for a moisturizing bar soap that is elegantly scented and is more creamy than sudsy.

This is by far my favourite LUSH soap. The thing that first attracted me to it was the scent. It is extremely hard to describe - one that you'd have to smell for yourself. But if I'm going to try to describe it, it smells to me exactly what I think the LUSH store smells like. What I mean to say is, when I think of what LUSH smells like, I think of the scent of this soap. Some have said that it smells like the blackberry bath bomb which is true, but I think it smells creamier than that.
Once I had established that I loved the scent, I went to use the soap, and it is the softest creamiest lather ever! It just glides over your skin and feels so nice. I just bought a giant chunk of this and I am a very happy camper :)

This soap is a creamy light tan color with chunky bits of fruit in it. It has the most unique and amazingly wonderful smell, reminding me of fruit with a strong warm, peach note in it. It is a nice way to wake up in the shower. It leaves my skin feeling soft - and not dry as some soaps do. It leaves my bathroom smelling heavenly and I can often smell it on my skin hours later. I wish wish wish they would offer this scent in another product - like lotion or fragrance. I agree with another reviewer that it would be nice if there were less chunky fruit bits in it so that I didn't feel like wasting that last bit, it doesn't feel good to rub scratchy dried fruit bits on my skin! I love it and would buy it again if my lovely husband hadn't purchased me enough to last a while.

This soap is my absolute favourite in the Lush soap range. I'm one of those who buys this purely for the scent, which is hard to explain. I've been using this for over a year now and whenever i go to my nearest Lush store, i just buy a massive chunk of it - and when I say massive, i meant as in half of the entire block!! This sales girl recommended that i chop them up at home whenever I need it so the oil in the soap won't dry up as quick. She also gave me a whole heap of the Lush wrapping paper to take home so i can wrap them up myself when i cut couple of small pieces. She was so right about the amount of oil in it though , as soon after i cut the soap, my knife had a thick film of oil on it, and later the wrapping paper that wrapped the newly chopped pieces would be soaked in the oil from the soap.
I do feel quite moisturised from using this in the shower, but having said all that, i feel like i still need a body lotion after, although i'm reluctant to do so most of the time because i keep wanting to smell the lingering scent on the body. Lush - please make a body lotion with the same scent!!
In Australia, I think the prices has been dropped by $10, so it's now AU$59.90/kg.

This is a nice creamy soap. It has some unnecessary fruit in it that just clogs the shower, and it kinda dries out the skin BUT it feels so creamy when you are using it and it smells DIVINE! It's really hard to describe the scent but I would say it's like a mix between yogurt, and a freshly baked breakfast bread. It's kinda like what it would smell like if you walked into a tea shoppe where they were baking bread and you were eating yogurt. Sounds random, I know, but it's great. It's not really sweet, but still gourmand and comforting, almost warm. It is expensive though. It might make a good guest soap.

This is a gorgeous soap, much more attractive than the online photos convey. It's pale pink with small pearly stones (presumably moisturizing?) and chunks of fruit. I would honestly consider purchasing it for a guest bathroom or just to display a couple of chunks in a vintage bowl in the bathroom! Overall though I think this soap is only worth it if you're absolutely in love with the scent (I'm into more naturally derived ingredients & fragrances myself).
PROS: It cleans well, lathers well, lasts longer than other Lush soaps I've tried, and it definitely leaves a faint scent on the skin for quite a while after use.
CONS: I don't find it to be moisturizing enough and while I'm sure the chunks of fruit are beneficial when eaten, all they do is break off and drop down the drain. Also, the scent is incredibly strong and while it's rather pleasant it bothers me that it's artificial (the notoriously vague & often toxic ingredient 'perfume' is listed on the website). Anyone with sensitive skin would probably want to avoid Sultana for this reason.

I just love this soap because it is creamy and has a very unusual 'food' taste- sweet, creamy, smells somewhat like a spiced fruitcake, almondy... very mixed smell that is unlike anything, so it's difficult to compare. It's really creamy and using it in the shower makes the whole bathroom smell wonderful. I'm not too enthused about the raisin & fruit bits, though, even though it is kind of nice to scrub with them, but sooner or later, they fall apart and mess up your bathroom floor, so that you have to constantly pick up bits and pieces. They don't look too good on the soap as well, but the smell more than makes up for it. It's a definite repurchase though. I just love the smell too much. One other disadvantage of this soap is that it melts quite quickly and therefore is expensive. However, I hope this soap never gets discountinued.
UPDATE: Am loving it even more, as I've just unwrapped a new, big piece of Sultana- it's so creamy, fragrant and yummy in texture. The best soap in Lush, for me.
UPDATE: I've found a new way of using this soap, and also a way to use the raisin bits, which I believe alot of people cut off. I find that if you use a net/mesh pouch with drawstrings, you can slice off the topmost raisin/apricot bits of Sultana of Soap and contain them in the mesh drawstring pouch. You can then wet this, and squeeze out all the goodness because there will be alot of soap contained within the raisins, rather than just let the raisins go to waste if you throw it away. I find that this way, when I squeeze the mesh pouch, I get a really lovely, creamy, milky concoction- almost like whipped cream - and that makes for a lovely shower.
