I got a sample of this a few years ago. I didn't like the consistency and scent at first, but I used it because it was a free sample. It made my face glow! I wound up buying it. I had to stop purchasing it because I didn't have the money for it, but now I'm buying it again. It's great at evening out my skin tone. I have a lot of dark spots, acne scars, and this makes my skin look great. Try it!

I have really soft skin with a few barely visible blemishes and under eye circles . Thanks to Olay Total effects that I have been using for quite some time now. Decided to try this one after so many good reviews.

Well, this one was a disaster. My skin:
1. got more oily & rough
2. sensitive to sun.
3. complexion got darker
4. my otherwise barely noticeable blemished and dark circles were very prominent.

Did nothing good to my skin! I had to stop using it after a week. Honestly, this is a crap for me and a waste of money.
Total effects did wonders to skin but this one....a big big disappointment for me. The jar sits on my vanity.. don't know what to do with it (expensive one, so its hard to throw away).
I'm back to my Total effects and might not try the Definity series any time soon!

Olay is my preferred drug store brand, but this cream disappoints! I love the gel-like texture of this cream and my face does feel refreshed and moisturized; however, the cream just sits there on top of my skin and rubs off onto whatever comes in contact with my face - even hours after application.

This product does not have a consistency that would dispense well from a pump, and anyway, I like the jar. I apply this cream after I have cleansed my face, so my hands are clean, and only the tip of one finger goes into the jar to remove about a dime sized amount, which I dot over my face and neck and then lightly spread and let it dry. This is not "cream" as in "oily," and there is no need to rub it in much. It feels light on my face and has an elegant scent. I've used it every night for two weeks (maybe three). I have had no breakouts or irritation and my skin is more luminous and it feels like rose petals.

This cream is super heavy with silicone. It is similar in texture to foundation primers, but it has more of a creamy feel as opposed to a gel.
It is really moisturizing, and didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. I found my skin to be a lot more hydrated and somewhat more even toned after two uses. My winter dry patches virtually disappeared.
It started to clog my pores after a few days, so I have stopped using it. I am sad since it worked really well under makeup. It's like a moisturizer and primer in one.
It has a strong scent to it which I didn't like, I think perfume is unnecessary in a facial moisturizer.
I also don't like the jar packaging, it would do better with a pump style container.
I think it's a bit overpriced at $30 CAD, but it does go on sale every once in a while. The jar would last a long time, you only need a small amount to spread over your whole face.
If you are sensitive to silicone (dimethicone) don't bother with this, otherwise if you have dry skin give it a try.

I've been using this product for over a month now, halfway done, and I've noticed good and bad results. I don't know if other people are experiencing the same results, but it feels like this moisturizer is "drying" my skin out even more after using it.. BUT the weird thing is that it's actually a good thing in a way, b/c my skin feels like it's renewing itself. After I use a face scrub to buff off all the flaky dry skin, I see that SOME fresh new skin has grown in replace of it. I think that is how this moisturizer gets rid of "brown spots" b/c this moisturizer sloughs off your top layer to reveal younger newer skin. I normally have oily skin, and to have dry skin b/c of this moisturizer is very unpleasant and I do not like having dry skin at all! The first week that I started using this product, my skin became super dry and the foundation I was using made my dry skin look even worse, my skin was so dry it got to the point where I was able to peel off the dry skin! Another problem that I have w/this product is that b/c it has a silicone feel to it, I think it's also breaking me out in places that I normally don't ever break out it. Primers also have a silicone in it and it's not good to use a primer EVERYDAY before your foundation b/c your skin will not be able to breathe and you will break out. The packaging is also bad b/c it doesn't have a pump, so you're constantly digging your fingers into the container to get the product which is not very sanitary. So in my experience, the moisturizer had no moisturizing benefits, broke me out, but did get rid of some brown spots and sloughed off dead skin.. but I would much rather use other products that will get the job done without breaking me out in the end n causing dry skin.

THE BEST! I have been using Olay moisturizers on my face for 20 years. I switched from regular Olay to Definity a couple years ago (I am 46). I have had girls in there 20's asking for my "beauty secret".

I am writing this review for both the Olay Definity AND for the "dupe" CVS version. I have used them both and could not find one bit of a differnece...all the way down to the smell, they were the same in my book. I recently (3 months back) started a skin routine with my dermatologist that began to dry my skin out quite a bit...I often turn to Clinique DDMG, but it wasn't quite enough this time around. This moisturizer, as thick as it is, at the same time, feels light as air once I apply it...I take a healthy, scoop out (size of a nickle at least, sometimes a quarter) and apply all over my face. It leaves a lovely sheen, if you want to call it that on my skin, and dries to feel like silk! I adore it! Best of all...it doesn't clog my pores or break me out! It helps my makeup (i use cream concealer and BE foundation) go on even smoother...

Now that i finally tried the CVS version, I likely won't go back to the Olay version...no reason to when i had identical results.

The price (if on sale) is up to $8 cheaper, i believe....so, worth it in my eyes...this also makes me want to try other CVS/Olay dupes....

Negatives: packaging...knocked a few lippies off for that...MAKE IT IN A PUMP!...Any lotion that goes on the face should just be in a pump, period...am i wrong!? :-)

Negatives: price...knocked a lippie off there as well...still pricey, but still worth it.

The smell is strong - but doesn't last forever. If you are sensitive to smells though, this will be off-putting.
I have acne-prone skin - and though I love how this product made my dry skin feel, it did break me out...
I wrote an email to Olay asking about this product and acne - they said that it wasn't dermatologist tested and isn't non-comedogenic...
There you go.

My favourite things about this product are the smell, texture and appearance. The cream has an opalescent sheen to it, a light gel feeling, and a wonderful scent.

I love how my face feels after using this product. It's light-weight, non-greasy, and I don't think it clogs my pores at all. I've never had any tightness, irritation or break-outs as a result of using this cream.

It smells nummy. I would happily slather way more on, but (while I know it's relatively cheap compared to other anti-aging products) the price is a bit high to use like hand lotion.I try to look for this product on sale at the big box stores because it is much cheaper that way. If they made a body lotion like this, I'd probably drown myself in it.

I can't explain why, but the shimmery appearance makes me happy. As if all those little beads of purple sparkle are going to make light reflect off my face and make my skin appear smoother. I realize that's not the case, but I still feel gleeful putting it on, as opposed to thick opaque creams that feel heavy on my skin. I feel good about my skin when I've used it, and I think that makes me look even better.

I was looking for a cream that would fade the spots I have on my face from sun damage. I have been using this for about 3 weeks now, and my sun spots have faded significantly. They are still noticeable, but it doesn't take as much cover up to conceal them as it used to.

I have very dry skin, and at first, this cream did not hydrate it much at all. I was determined to lose my brown spots, and heard great things about this product, so I stuck with it. Eventually my skin got used to it and it has been hydrating it much better.

I will probably try some of the other products in this line to use along with this one. I am happy so far. My only problem, as with most Olay products is the overpackaging and the strong perfumey smell.

I've waited a year to write this review because I wanted to see the full effects first. This cream makes my skin amazing! I too notice a 100% difference if I use any other product. I have sensitive combination skin with some redness. This cream makes my skin glow, helps my redness and has faded my freckles somewhat. It also helps lessen black circles. I was developing some fine lines on my forehead and between my brows, and they are gone now. It has also helped smooth my face and neck so that it looks smooth and taut and fresh. It's a sort of gel/cream consistency and the smell is nice and not overpowering. (The scent disappears after a couple of minutes anyways) Due to having sensitive skin that is break out prone IF I use the wrong products, I was afraid the smell would cause a bad reaction and that the fact that it is a cream would cause me breakouts. After a year of use, I can definitely say this has NEVER caused a breakout. I've actually found it to help prevent breakouts. Any zits that I do get once in a blue moon heal MUCH faster and are much less red due to this cream. I am thrilled with the results of this cream and I don't plan on ever stopping using this product. However, it IS richer than say a light lotion would be. If I were to use a cream cleanser AND this cream, my skin would probably be too oily. I used to use cetaphil gentle cleanser, but my skin was too oily in conjunction with this cream, so I switched to cetaphil oily/combination cleanser instead. The price of this cream is expensive, (I live in Canada and this cream is usually around 40 dollars, 30-35 if it's on sale) but due to the fact that I don't have to use anything else other than cleanser and this (and sunscreen obviously), it balances out and is very much worth it. I use this once a day and a jar lasts me 2 months. Before this cream, I was stressed out about my skin because I had a few zits, my cheeks were really dry and I was developing fine lines. Now I dont have to worry about my skin at all. This cream even helps prevent redness on my nose when I get a cold. I am in love!

I was amazed by all these good reviews on this product. To me, it feels heavy on my oily/acne prone skin. It feels like, my skin is more greasy after applying this and feels like my skin has a hard time breathing. Also, it claims to clarify/brighten up the skin. But I don't see a dfference after used up one bottle of it.

I'm on my fourth jar of this wonderful cream. It's like liquid silk and smells wonderful. It hydrates like no other cream, and gives me luminous skin. It is a wonderful moisturizer under makeup. A little bit on the expensive side, but so worth it. Definitely will be repurchasing.

This is a dream moisturizer. My skin looks amazing when I use it, and I see a 100% difference in my skin when I use a regular moisturizer instead. I love the illumating factor of this cream, it makes my skin look a lot brighter, so much that my skin literally glows. It does have a bit of a silicone feel once applied, so it almost doubles as a primer as well. I wouldn't recommend this for very dry skin though, as it's not moisturizing enough, and if you apply a lot, it does tend to "ball up." If your skin is looking lackluster and you don't have very dry skin, I definitely recommend.

This moisturizer worked wonders for my skin. I splurged on it bc i was having extreme winter dryness on my face and it cured it in about 1-2 days! Unfortunately now, I don't think I can go without it, even though winter is almost over and the price is steep. This is kind of like a cream gel formula with silicone in it. I actually did not like the texture the first moment I applied it, but then i woke up to such beautiful skin even after a night of drinking. I always do the nose test, if it can make the tip of my nose soft then it's a good cream! It gives you a glow to your skin, because the cream has an almost ultra violet glow to it-so beautiful! I am only 21 years old, but customers at my work recently, have been asking me if i'm 14 and how am I old enough to have a job! This has only been since I started using this. It doesn't cure wrinkles but it fills in any fine lines in the face bc there is silicone in it, and the glow takes years off your look. I think that is what their claim on anti-aging is, since it is supposed to lighten dark spots on the face that make you look older...which it does help with. I have never broken out from the silicone, but it has actually benefitted me by absorbing oil on my face, and just polishing the look of my skin. I bought an oil-mattifying powder a week before and haven't touched it because my face doesn't get oily any more since I've been using this! That is a huge deal to me, like the day I never thought I'd see. I also don't really need to wear foundation anymore because my skin looks beautiful with it on. I love this cream!

Update: I have used four jars already and still loving it. This is a must have in my beauty regimen! The jar packaging sucks though because it is an awkward shape and I dropped it once and spilled out half the contents, and have almost dropped it mannny times.
