Not sure if I am the only one doing this, but I apply a tiny bit of UDPP before applying Mac Paint (and I use Bare Canvas, in the squeeze tube). Seems to work just fine for me. Be sure to roll the end of the tube out to prevent the paint from gushing -as I seen someone else here mention. I also keep small sample jars around if this ever would happen, as not to waste product.

I used this product as a primer all over the eye - the little tube lasted me almost two years and there are still some applications left. I applies with a slight shine.

I really like this and the only reason I wouldnt buy it again is that I prefer paint pot as a primer, as it is matte and therefore a bit more versatile (as I use a lot of matte eyeshadows)

I love this stuff. I have paint in "untitled" since it came out and pray they never discontinue it.

This is my HG product. I use it as a primer under my shadow or on its own with powdered liner. It makes it last .

It takes so little product that the tube lasts for ages.

( After using paint on your lid then apply the powdered eyeliner shadow before the lid shadow. That way you get your liner to last.)

Love this stuff! I use it as a base/primer for my eye shadows. My shadows last all day and night. Makes a perfect canvas for application.

I love this!!!! Its better then macs prep + prime. I have it in Sublime Nature and it's a really nice color natural to use alone too. My eye makeup stays on forever when I use this stuff.

Eyeshadow primers were once my holy grail, and now they have turned against me. Instead, paints have been my BFF, with some flaws of course. These are amazing. I have two, one is called Untitled and the other, Bare Canvas. I usually use Untitled because there's less shimmer in it. I LOVE it. It's very close to my skin tone (NC42), but the problem is, it almost matches my skin, I can't see what I didn't fill my eyeshadows over with, making my eyes look glowy with all the white outlines. It's a mess, I know. But I still love it. Very pigmented, you can just use a small dab for one eye, and best of all, doesn't crease! As you can tell, I love these more than those eyeshadow primers.

I use Paint in "Untitled". It is fabulous with my dark brown eyes and cool pinky skin. It is heavily pigmented and covers up the serious discoloration on my eyelids. Most days I wear it alone with some eyeliner, but it's also a great base color with plum or grey shadows. A little goes a very long way. I definitely recommend using a brush for application. My consultant recommended a great one. A brush allows precise application, including near your tear duct, if you choose.

I use this as a eye primer
(very, very little goes a long way and too much on the eyelid will not hold your make up)

I cant imagine ever using this as a shadow. (it is VERY pigmented and sparkly)
But as a primer it is just lovely it doesn't change the colour of the eyeshadow and the sparkles doesn't show through much either.

Also great as a high lighter.

The colour I use is Stilife Paint.

I've been pretty impressed with MAC Paints. A tiny bit definitely goes a long way. I used the Stilife paint as an eyeshadow base while I was awaiting my UDPP shipment to come from Sephora, and it did a pretty decent job of holding my shadows on. I have really oily lids, so I did see some creasing after about 5-6hrs, but not as much as I would have with no base at all. The only complaint I have is that they dry a bit too quickly, and are a bit hard to blend out. Other than that, I do enjoy the products :)

This was recommended to me by a MAC makeup artist when I first started shopping at MAC - in fact I think it was one of the first ten things I purchased. They recommended Bare Canvas as a base because I have a lot of trouble with creasing. It didn't really impress me - the paint pots are better for this purpose. I do like Bamboom alone without a shadow on top, but as a base I wouldn't recommend paints to anyone who has serious creasing problems (even UDPP doesn't stop me from having this problem at the end of the day, only Too Faced Shadow Insurance has really worked for me so far), but if you don't have much of a problem in this regard then I'm sure it would work well for you. It does even out skin tone and help shadow last longer. My major issue with this is the packaging. The tubes are metal, so if an air bubble is trapped it will push product out even if you're not squeezing the tube. This leads to either a lot of wasted product (there's no way to get it back in the tube once it comes out) or a mess if you just cram the lid back on to stop it coming out. Overall the results don't outweigh the packaging, so I'd recommend paint pots instead.

Have been using this eye primer for years!! Recently wanted to try something new and have but it let me down, so now I am back to using the MAC Paints for my #1 eye primers. I love how it is waterproof and lasts all day long. Very little goes a long way too.

I don't think I'll ever opt for any other forms of eyeshadow base but Mac paints. You just need a tiny amount (less than a lentil seed) for the entire eye area (from bottom lashes to lid to browbone), and the eyeshadow will just stick onto it while still maintaining its full blendability. I've worn it for 15 hours straight with heavy eye makeup on and it didn't move one bit. Also tried it for nearly 24 hours straight (dinner, then clubbing, then sleep without removing my makeup... bad girl) and again, after all the heat and sweat at the club and all the moving around on the pillow at night, it didn't budge or smudge or anything at all. I've come to think this product is anything-proof. Make sure you put the cap back on properly after each use though, otherwise it will dry out very fast in its fragile little tube. Would recommend it to anyone and will repurchase.

Love these Paints! I prefer this than UDPP. These lasts longer on MY lids than the paint pots or any other shades. I love that they are waterproof...I wear in the summer time a lot! Just a suggestion to buy your makeup at Nordstroms. If the products does not work or irritate your skin, they will take them back.

This is my first time using a paint to keep my eye shadow from creasing. I am really happy with this product. It keeps my eye shadow in place and even after 8 hours of wear. Very little is needed. I will keep using this paint.

lmao there are so many people here confusing paints with paint pots! They are totally different. Anyways, paint does nothing for me. My eyeshadow still creases and fades after a few hours and the paint itself is sheer so it doesn't create a good base for eyeshadow colors. I really wish I had bought UDPP instead, which was cheaper. It's too late for me to return paint so I will have to finish it. Unfortunately it looks like it's going to last a long time even though paint gets stuck in its little screw-top lid. I bought a paint pot earlier, which was even worse, and exchanged it for this paint. Girls with oily lids should stay away from any and all MAC eyeshadow primers.

I really do love this product because it looks beautiful when you put it on. I have oily lids, but as long as I use my UDPP, this does not crease at all. I bought this at the Cosmetics Company store, so it was a bit cheaper, but still pricey, but I would repurchase because I LOVE how it looks. The packaging is fine, but when you first open it you lose some because it pops out.

I just bought this product after reading reviews and am so far very happy with it. I have very oily eyelids so my eye shadow always creases. When I wear this product under my eye shadow it doesn't crease at all.
Even though I have tan skin the bare canvas shade is good. You just have to wear it under your shadow. If you have dark skin around your eyes, like I do, it's great under a shimmery pearl everyday colour.
Only problem is the tube it comes in. I would prefer it in a pot.
Much better than the pain pots! I just wish this paint came in a pot. Just make sure you buy a concealer brush to use with it and don't squeeze the tube to hard.
WORTH YOUR MONEY!

It's hard to decide what's best: The mac paints or the paint pots. The paint pots come in a larger range of colors and come in a jar so it's easier to get the product out. However, if you don't apply a thin layer of the pain pot it might crease. Paints never crease no matter how much you apply. Both are easy to apply on the go since all you need is your fingers. I have the Bare canvas paint and it's a nice neutral beige that creates the perfect base for making eyeshadow stick and helping the color to show up better. I like both and I recommend both, but if you want to ensure that you won't have creasing, get the paint instead.

I think a lot of people think this is about Paint Pots *like mentioned below* They are great too but obviously not the same product!

I know they are phasing these out. Which is terrible. One of my first MAC products was a paint. I still have it and I love it to death. Flammable paint. It is a dark red, it is so awesome, and the texture is superb! You barely need any of the product as well. I also have it in Chartru and there was a neutral one Bare Canvas that I had but I used it all lol. Perfect for a base, won't crease, just a fantastic product all around. Plus, it is in a tube, that is more sanitary as well for those who don't like things that come in jars or tubs.

Sometimes there is a bit of air buildup and it can come out of the tube unexpectedly *Chartru did this to me, but only once* Always squeeze the front of the tube and not the back because it will be a mess. I have sample jars so if any of the paint tries to get away I will save it!

I will probably pick up some more of these before they are gone forever.
