I dislike this product, which is a shame, because it means that I'm back on the lookout for a decent liquid soap for hand washing. *sigh*

The scent is fine, if a tad too strong; consistency is that of a creamy face wash, or even a body lotion; lather isn't great.

My main gripe though is that it seriously dries out my hands whenever I use it! What is the use of a "nourishing" hand wash if I'm left constantly reaching for hand cream throughout the day just to avoid the dreaded scaly hand syndrome?!?!??

Its only redeeming quality was that I didn't have to pay for it – it was free, given to me by my dermatologist friend. I must say, normally I quite like Dove products, but this hand soap is a major disappointment. I would strongly advise not purchasing this product :(

I don't care if this is *supposed* to be good, because it's not. While it has a pleasant scent and nice texture (hence the two generous lippies), it leaves my hands very dry, which is rare for my skin. This is shocking considering it claims "deep moisture" and "1/4 moisturizer." A big disappointment.

My face is uber-oily and acne-prone, but my hands get dry easily. I like this hand soap. The smell is okay...don't hate it, but don't love it either. I do feel like it's gentle, yet effective in washing hands and it's mildly moisturizing. My hands aren't normally dry, but they can get dry easily (from frequent washing or using acne meds for face or during the winter time). Perhaps if my hands were normally dry, this wouldn't be moisturizing enough, but if your hands get dry from other things and aren't normally dry (if that makes sense), then it's good.

The smell is too strong and it doesn't moisturize very well. I thought it would be more gentle. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with sensitive skin or skin that's easily irritated by heavily fragranced products. It was not at all what I expected. Will not repurchase.

The smell is kinda strong, and I dunno how moisturizing it is really... it doesn't have a lot of suds so you have to apply a lot, and it does my hands kind of dry

I'm a frequent handwasher so I'm always on the look out for a gentle handsoap that will clean gently, not leave a residue behind and won't dry out my skin. After using this handsoap one time my hands felt like sandpaper. Honestly, I'm stunned at how dry my hands are after using this soap. I stopped using it because it's so drying which I find ironic because the rest of the products I use: Dove Baby Wash and shower soap leave my skin soft and clean. I'll neither repurchase this nor will I even finish it up. On the upside I like that one pump from the dispenser gives you enough soap to wash with and the scent is really fresh and clean, but the end is result is not worth it.

I wash my hands quite a bit, and they tend to get dry, and I get hang nails too. This stuff doesn't even feel like soap; it feels more like lotion. The scent is okay, and it's on the pricey side, but overall this leaves my skin smooth but clean. I would not have tried it if it wasn't on sale & I didn't have a coupon though.

Hmm I really like this! I think this is the best hand soap I've ever had with the exception of Bath and Body Works hand soaps (but I live in Canada, so I don't have easy access to that). This really moisturizes my hands and I like the smell quite similar to the Deep moisture for dry skin body wash in my opinion.

whoa i don't know why there are negative reviews.. b/c i was flabbergastingly impressed! especially since i DON'T like the Deep Moisture Body Wash.i have extremely dry skin, sensitive and scents usually bother me. i've had this awful problem with my thumb in that it's as though someone took a grater over it. the only product that had worked was Method, but it's pricey. i found the Dove refill at my local discount store... used it and voila - Day 1 - no more grated thumb! my hands feel moisturized, my cuticles are softer and i require less hand-cream. one lippy off b/c of SLS and petrolatum. it's rather impossible to avoid at least these 2 chemicals from mainstream products, and products that are healthier still dry me out.so all in all: i'm very pleased and will repurchase - at the discount store or when on sale.

This stuff is expensive, which that would be okay if it worked for me. Goes on thick, and I agree that it seems like Dove's Deep Moisture body wash in a pump. Anyway, it feels like it will moisturize really well while slathering it one, however, it does not rinse off very well, and I keep feeling like my hands are not really clean. Further, 15 minutes later, my hands are just as dry as if I had used my regular hand soap. No thanks. I'll stick to Softsoap Milk n Honey for the bathrooms in my house. I get the same results at a fraction of the cost.

Makes my hands really soft! I don't even need to use lotion after washing my hands anymore! This is a really thick, creamy hand wash that takes a little bit of effort to lather, but it is worth it to me. Another winner from Dove.

This is just Dove’s regular deep moisture body wash in a pump dispenser. There isn’t a lot of lather, but it’s less drying than the usual hand soap.

This has a nice scent, but like the other two varieties of Dove Nourishing Hand Wash, I don't find it any less drying than any other hand soap, so it doesn't live up to its claims, and if you don't get it at a discount, it's expensive. Not recommended.

Not a big fan. For one thing it broke out my knuckles on my hands in blisters after only a couple of uses. Maybe it's the soybean in this which I am allergic to but I thought it would just be rinsed off--silly me. I HATE the cherry cough syrup scent--what were they thinking? And for something that is supposed to be hydrating it left my hands as dry as with any other hand wash so count me out on a repurchase. I'm going to try Softsoap 2-in-1 next.

Goes on thick like a lotion and doesn't really foam much. Haven't noticed a difference in hand moisturize. Doesn't clean makeup off my hands very well.

This stuff was awful, IMO. Ever since I switched from Dial foaming to this, my hands have been super dry to the point that there are lots of cracks around my knuckles. I was really excited to try it, but unfortunately it's not for me. BTW, I have the Cool Moisture kind in the green bottle.

VERY strong, overwhelming scent. I really like it otherwise, and it leaves my hands nice and soft. Have tried many soaps and cleansers, and this would be my favorite so far, but the scent is absolutely overpowering. It lingers for hours, and smells basically like I dipped my hands in liquid laundry detergent and let it dry on my skin. I think I'll probably heavily dilute it with something else, and try to get used to the smell, but I'd only repurchase if they toned down the fragrance a lot. Have written Dove a letter to that effect, and will likely keep looking, going back to my standard hand-soap-with-lotion-added for the time being.

If strong smells don't bother you, though, this stuff is fantastic, and I didn't notice any trouble rinsing, like another reviewer did. Maybe different batches? Mine was great. On sale at Kroger for $2.

This is the only hand soap I have tried where it actually feels like I have applied lotion after cleaning my hands! I have stocked up both bathrooms and the kitchen with this stuff. Love it.

This is more or less Dove's Deep Moisture body wash repackaged as a hand wash. Ingredients are similar. It is moisturizing, but like the body wash, it's not the easiest stuff to rinse off. I don't mind spending an extra minute in the shower, but I'm generally not very leisurely about washing my hands. I want to get them washed and get going. For that reason I would lean against repurchasing. There are other hand washes that moisturize without the extra effort.
