Really great product for exfoliating your body, it is hard in the beginning but will soften with the first use. I like the scent, it is natural and clean, although not something I usually go for. My skin is definitely soft after using it and the scent remains. The only issues I have with it is the price, and the question of what to do with it after using it, you can't really squeeze it out dry because of the gel within the sponge.

I am normally a bar soap gal, but this product has changed me. I am in love with the scent, the lather, and the exfoliating sponge. Even after the 30 or so washes you get from the Kai shower gel built into the sponge, I continue to use the sponge with another fragranced shower gel for a while. I admit it was a little intimidating at first because the sponge has a hard "shell" until it is wet for the first time. After the first use, though, it's just a big, soft, gel-filled, delicious washing experience!

After reading the reviews of this product on this site and various other sites. I was so desperate to try it out. I'm from the UK and therefore that was going to be a difficult task. So when I was in New York I had the opportunity to buy it at Barney's. But i was so dissapointed. It's like getting a wet sponge and adding shower gel to it. I just can't justify the cost.
I'm sorry as I really wanted to love this product but it's a thumbs down for me.

This is definitely a unique product. It comes as a ball shape (about the size of a mini soccer ball), which is split in half (hence the 2 sponges).
At first appearance, it looks like a sponge, but is quite hard and also feels waxy. It contains palm oil derived glycerin, coconut oil and olive oil, so I figured that the waxiness was from that. But I was a bit worried that it was going to leave me all greasy when I used it.
So the instructions say to wet the sponge and squeeze it to release the bubbles, but that was a bit difficult at first because the sponge is so hard initially, but it does slowly soften with each use (up to 30 uses for each one).
Once the sponge became wet, I could see soapy foam start appearing (infused with the Kai scent), so started using it on my skin. It didn't hurt or aggravate my skin, but definitely did a good job at exfoliating. And with the bubbles of soap as well, it's just like exfoliating and using a body wash or soap at the same time.
When I got out of the shower after using it the first time, my skin had this 'weird' feeling - difficult to describe, but it was as if I had a 'layer' of something on - almost like a waxy layer. I'm guessing that this was something to do with the oils, but I couldn't see any oily or waxy residue on my skin. This feeling was gone soon after. After additional uses, I didn't get this feeling afterwards, so it must have just been for that first use where that 'waxy' layer came off.
So to sum it up, it's like an exfoliator and soap/body wash in one. And it leaves you beautifully and lightly fragranced with the Kai scent. This product is like nothing I've ever used before - definitely unique. It's worth the money for the size & if you love the Kai fragrance like me, it's a bonus. Probably something I'll use over the summer months as my exfoliator, and then use the more 'heavy duty' sugar/salt scrubs over winter.

This is a really neat concept for a body wash/exfoliator....it comes in a set of two soap-infused sponges that are supposed to last for 30 uses each. I liked it quite a bit, the scent is pretty and light. The suds can be difficult to get out at first, since you need to get it wet and kind of squeeze it in order to get the soap out but this gets easier with subsequent uses. The sponge lasts quite a while and the soap washes cleanly, but I miss my Aveda bodywash....I'm addicted to the scent:). However this is a great product, and the sponge does a really nice job of exfoliating so I had to give it five lippies even if I probably won't purchase it again.
