I have used products from the vive pro line before, but recently I colored my hair and I thought I would use this. It was fairly cheap. This is an awful product. It barely lathers, and it does not clean. After washing your hair feels dry and brittleish, and there is a very noticeable film on your hair after washing. I am going to have to use a clarifying shampoo to get this out, and hope it doesn't strip my color.

This is my Go-To drugstore shampoo.
Because of money issues, I tend to switch back and forth from this stuff, to TiGi, AG and Redken (I rotate the other 3) but always come back to this inexpensive $5.00 shampoo.
I'm Canadian, and I went on Vacation to Vegas but forgot my toiletries (ugh!!!!) I had to stop in at Wal-Greens and buy EVERYTHING. I grabbed this shampoo. OMG it was SO drying!!!!!! I dont know if it was the climate difference (Im from Van, BC) or if the forumal between US and Canada is different, but it was HORRIBLE.
Now, when I buy it here in Canada, I Love this stuff, and will buy over and over and over again. It leaves my hair soft, manageable, smelling great and smoooooooth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

I had this, along with the matching conditioner, in my guest bath. I had to borrow them for a couple of washes when I ran out of my usual, non-silicon-laden, poo & conditioner. HUGE mistake. My scalp, face and chest have broken out from all the silicon and other crap in this stuff clogging my pores. My hair is also snapping off when I dry it... just from 2 washes! Oily skinned people should skip this line completely, in my opinion. Lesson learned: always order my regulars' replacements BEFORE I run out.

I got this shampoo as GWP when I bought a box of haircolor for someone;all I have to say is that I am glad I didn't pay for Vive-pro shampoo!
At first, I really liked the scent of this shampoo, however, upon using it, it made my hair feel dry and parched and left a weird film on my hair (my hair is pretty healthy, too), my scalp also itched; luckily I deep conditioned afterwards. I didn't notice any shine or moisture with this shampoo--in fact, it just made my hair feel and look dull and dried out. This is so weird, considering the claims are to replenish moisture and preserve color. That being said, Vive-pro is definately a thumbs down in my book. Don't really like L'oreal's drugastore hair products anyway.

This product smells really nice, and it's also light so it isn't very drying on my hair. I find that it doesn't really protect my hair color, it fades as much as it does with any other shampoo made for colored hair, but that's only to be expected considering that my hair is dyed a red shade and red dye always fades very face.

This shampoo isn't bad. I feel like its really light for my fine hair and it does leave it feeling silky. butttt, my hair just looks, average when I use this...as compared to other things. it was cheap, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing.

I get this with the matching conditioner at pretty much any drugstore. It's fairly cheap and works better for my dry/coloured hair than any other shampoo I've tried. My mom gets salon shampoo and conditioners for cheap, and I'd use the L'Oreal Vive Pro shampoo &conditioner over them for sure. It smells so good, helps my hair hold onto my colour for a lot longer than with any other shampoo, and leaves my hair so so silky. It's one of the few shampoos I've used that actually does everything it says it does.

This is the shampoo I have been using for years. It works very well for my both semi-permanent and permanent dyed hair. Smell is wonderful, the cost is reasonable, and does what it claims. It's even better than Garnier's and Paul Mitchell's color protective shampoo for my hair. I'm very satisfied with this product.

This is by far the worst shampoo I have ever used. I only bought it because it came as a bonus with L'Oreal hair color. It leaves a weird film on your hair that makes it so soft and greasy, it won't hold any style. My hair goes completely flat. As others here have said, you have to wash with a clarifying shampoo for two days just to get the film off your hair. Definitely will NEVER repurchase.

This is the worst shampoo I've ever used, and I've just about tried them all. I always buy moisturizing shampoo and conditioner - the thicker, the better - but this stuff left the worst film on my hair. When my hair dried, it looked oiler and dirtier than it did before I washed it. I had to wash my hair with clarifying shampoo TWICE before it cut the oily film this left on my hair. I will never, ever put this on my head again. It's so awful, I can't even bring myself to give it away and do that to someone else's hair.

I purchased Vive recently for the first time since the renaming and repackaging. I had used this in the past under the old formula and never had any problems. I am allergic to the new formula, it made my ears all red and itchy. Needless to say I will not repurchase. I am now stuck with two big bottles of Vive that I cannot use. I normally love L'oreal products, but this one does not make the cut. I don't think it even really helped with my dry hair that much. :(

I bought this shampoo because I ALWAYS get good results from using the L'Oreal Les Blondissimes hair dye. The shampoo must be manufactured by a company borrowing the L'Oreal name, because I have had the itchiest scalp since the day I first used.
The new scent is very strong, although my boyfriend loved it. The shampoo (and conditioner) are also very runny, so watch out when hastily showering.
My scalp is so dry and itchy and I hate to think L'Oreal did this to my head (I absolutely love their make-up, too) but after thinking back, when I used this shampoo about a year ago my head was mildly itchy.. and I wrote it off as excess hair product.
DO NOT BUY unless you're all about chic packaging.. then by all means, burn your hair to your heart's desire!

Nice shampoo for color treated hair. It conditions well. I am not sure how much effect it has on locking in the hair color. Good product that is readily available.

I don't know what it is about this stuff, but it always left a build up on my hair, even just after one use. I really wanted to like this line for color treated hair, because I've used l'oreal dyes before (apparantly l'oreal is the parent company to garnier). I was suckered into buyng this after they started calling it "vive pro", thinking it was better then when it was just color vive (didn't like it then either).. In some instances d/s brands are just as good, but unfortunatly, when it comes to buying shampoo/conditioner for color treated hair, the salon brands will always be better. My personal favorite is the biolage color care line, but I just can't see myself buying it on a regular basis since its a little expensive.

A great compliment to the matching conditioner, it's mositurizing and gentle on my color. It definately helps protect my color and keeps it vibrant and shiny.

This shampoo moisturizes well, but perhaps a little too much? I usually have no problem with shampoos formulated for dry hair (in fact, I usually use 2 in 1 shampoos then condition again!) but this shampoo made my hair so greasy! Will not repurchase.

I used this shampoo for about six months, with the matching conditioner, and must say I like it a lot. I totally finished the entire bottle which, as a product junkie, is saying a lot. I usually just buy new shampoos on a whim and have a pretty extensive collection of half full bottles laying around. I love the smell as it is not too fruity or overly girly. Some people have said that this shampoo is a little drying, but I have definitely not found that to be the case. My hair tends to be a little on the dry side and this shampoo seemed to actually help a lot. Would re-buy, but I have to get my product fix by trying out something new!

Why did they mess with the original formula? That was the best stuff... This new stuff is a complete waste of time & money. I just discovered Pantene Frizz Down, which is amazing stuff.

Left my hair like a frizzy, puffball. I had to use my straightening iron again and again to tame my hair. If you have thick, long hair and straighten it..I would not recommend this shampoo at all.

umm, I don't understand the bad reviews. I love this shampoo. It gets my hair clean, and makes it look beautiful. It smells like shampoo- kind of fresh and clean. And it leaves my hair smelling good all day. No complaints yet.
