An understated grey-taupe, with unobstrusive shimmer.
Great for no-fuss, 'swipe and go' minimalist daywear.

Despite the ridiculous price tag, I LOVE this eyeshadow! The color is perfect for that dark, winged eyeliner look in winter with a red lip. Just gorgeous! Anyways, great pigmentation and I am buying more Chanel now just because I have sensitive eyes and I have an allergic reaction to anything that isn't hypo-allergenic. Their products do not cause any irration or rash on me and I'm so excited. It's my little splurge :)

This is my favourite eyeshadow of all time. I love the colour. If you are a brunette with fair skin and brown or hazel eyes, this will look great on you. I wear it all over the lid with some black eyeliner and mascara. I have worn this about 3 times a week for 2 years and still have about 30% left. Well worth the price. I even like the sponge applicator it comes with - better than my Chanel brush!

its a pretty light taupe-grey color with satiny and slightly shimmery finish, applies and blends nicely. Not crazy about the quality of this for sure ive seen better. dior eye shadows for example are much more buttery and they have so much better color pay of Quite expensive and pretty basic standard color im sure you can find something similar and much cheaper. I splurged once for sure im not gonna repurchase, i dont mind the fact that the color isnt that unique i just dont find that the quality of this eyeshadow is good

Beautiful and totally worth the money. It is so pigmented, and buttery smooth. Makes a beautiful all over lid color. And is easy for every day wear. this is a must-have color for anyone that loves neutrals, browns or taupey colors.
i use this all over the lid, and with a bit of chanel taupe gris or Nars galapagos in the outer corner.
Highly recommend if you want to splurge on an eyeshadow. this will be getting so much wear for me. i'm just glad it's part of chanel's permanent collection.

While cleaning a patient's teeth the other day, I couldn't help but notice her eyeshadow. It was a shimmery taupe that perfectly complemented her auburn hair and blue eyes. I had to ask -what are you wearing? Chanel Safari is a gorgeous taupy-grey shade with subtle, wearable sheen and shimmer. I have blue-grey eyes and this shadow really makes the color pop. I paired it with Urban Decay Virgin eyeshadow on the brow and inner corner. Highly recommend, especially for blue or green eyes.

I love this eyeshadow! It's super pretty. The color is a grey toned taupe color with a little bit of shimmer. It's really good for my dark blue eyes when I want a simple daytime look. It lasts for ages on me, I can even nap with it on without it rubbing off! I've never tried that with an eyeshadow before.
The packaging is a lovely, glossy black case with a small tip brush. I do actually like the brush, and it's the only one I've used for this shadow.
This eyeshadow feels so exclusive and I will definately buy again if I run out.

Gorgeous grey tone taupe with gold shimmer. I use this as a basic lid colour when I want to do a very simple eye. Application is smooth. It really is a unique colour - most taupes have a reddish undertone which I can't wear but this really pulls grey/cement. Very flattering.
I'm knocking off one lippy though because it really needs a primer for durability on my greasy lids and also (and primarily) because the pan is TINY - far smaller than the display pans. I was shocked when I opened the case. I can see me hitting pan really fast a result which is problematic given how very expensive it is.

I love this! I use my Dior short brush eyeliner and apply it with a dab of water for more intense lines, and dry for the smokey-look. Lasts all day!! It doesn't make racoon eyes by the end of the day, so I recommend it!!

Soft touch Eyeshadows can be used both dry or with a dampened brush for a more intense results. I like to pair them off with Ombre D'Eau as a base as it makes the color payoff more outstanding as well as longer lasting. These E/S are very fine quality and easy to blend. And the tiny boxes are portable with applicators as well as a mirror in it. Just enough to look at 1 eye *LOL*
Safari is a neutral, taupe color. A sheer light hand enables me to use this as an all-over color yet with layering, I am able to use this as a contour shade that make this a versatile winner. I love to pair this off with Liberty #76 as a duo combination.

I love this color. I mix it with my Vanites quad, and it is very beautiful. It goes well on its own too. This is my everyday wear, and it's subtle, shimmery, and perfect. It lasts all day, and easy to blend. Make sure you have a primer on before application, or else it's a bit more difficult. I would buy this again.

I am not too impressed with the colour. It is very light and sparkly. It is easy to blend and very velvety (I prefer this texture to the quandra eyes), but the colour is just wrong for me (NC15 and hazel eyes). Great quality but wrong colour. I am returning this product.

Lovely complex grayish-taupe color with some shimmer that makes my brownish/hazel eyes look like jewels. It brings out every color they are (gold, green, brown, grey) better than any other shadow I've found . I tight line my upper lashes with Laura Mercier Black Ebony cake eyeliner and use MAC powersurge eyeliner (gold) on the bottom and it is very pretty day or night.

This poor little lonely e/s was sitting on the bottom of my MU case, I bought it quite a few years back when we had a Chanel counter in the Macy's I work @ PT. I remember when these shadow singles came out how pretty the colors were and how I was immediately attracted to this particular shade. Flash forward a few years and I had ignored it far too long. I forgot how well pigmented and blendable this color is, This is a "deeper" taupe shade. As another reviewer said it does a beautiful job of brining out blue eyes and very little is needed to get good coverage. I tend to pat it onto the lower lid and then "fade" it up to a little bit under the brow bone. This being Chanel, it is pricey, but the product tends to last a long time for the money. Can't purchase again, because, as I said, no Chanel counter where I am anymore.

I agree with every word Lizzy28 wrote. The color looked wonderful in the store though :( I had to use it wet to get some color payoff (I hate it when I have to do this) and then on my olive-green eyes (NC15) it looked dirty. All the shimmer had gone and the color was grey/brown, exactly like cement. Another problem I had was the terrible fall-out, the little brown specks were all over my face and I was very frustrated. Other Chanel singles are definitely NOT like this!

Love, love, love this product!! I had been searching for this shade for so long. A smokey, slightly shimmery, buttery smooth taupe with a hint of purple. Very wearable with all lip and cheek colors. For a 1920s look I like to pair it with bare cheeks and red lips. True, the product is small for the insanely high price. But, hey that is Chanel.

Click continue for pic. I love me some taupe eyeshadow and I had been wanting this for quite a bit. This didnt disappoint me... beautiful taupe color with silvery sheen. Soft shadow with good pigmentation and lasting ability. I wear this as a wash over the lid with Source as a base, cinnamon in the crease and chanel waterproof vert bronze liner for a daytime look or my HG Tigi Bigfatfun Black liner for a super sulty night look. Gorgeous. NC25 to NC45. Chanel Soft Bisque to Natural skin tone.

Firstly id just like to say I dont like e/s and i rarely use it, sometimes on the occasional night out but on a day to day basis i just use lots pf mascara and eyeliner. However when i was at the chanel counter a week ago buying some things i came across this eyeshadow. On a whim i bought it. And its just perfect. I have grey-blue eyes and this makes them pop wow!!! I have been using this e/s EVERY day and although its darker, than say, a pastel shade its very subtle and not over the top at all. This is a great e/s for blue eyed ladies as well as anyone who doesnt usually wear/like e/s like me. For me, on my nc30 skintone, blue eyes, dark hair, i definitely see some medium lavender shade in there and its just perfect. Definitely HG e/s so classy, subtle i wear this to the office where its very smart and professional with liquid liner as well as on my days off/weekends on its own and always so nice. :)
