I was going to choose a different eye cream solely based on these MUA reviews...Thankfully!the nice lady at the Clarins counter gave me a sample of this and told me to try it before dismissing it like that. Which I did, and I liked it a lot (it's a deeply hydrating formula) -then I bought the full size. I've been using it for 8 days now, and it has made a world of a difference.
I am in my 20's, but I have very dry skin around my eyes and I tend to smile with my eyes a lot which used to make the skin around my eyes look like I was in my 30's. Well, after using this product for 8 days I look like I'm 20 again!:)
Horrible rating for a life-saving (at least it was for me) product...Do get a sample of this and see for yourself.:) And those who are in their late 30's/40's would probably benefit from more advanced formulas (anti-aging ones)

I am surprised to see the bad reviews for this product. I have used a ton of eye creams and I was super skeptical when I first got this sample from a friend. But i thought....its a free sample why not? This is a serum. Not a moisturizer. U need to use 2 products if u use this. apply your serum first and follow up with an eye cream. U can look via my profile to read my reviews on eye cream. I have tried a ton and this product doesnt disappoint. It helps in my fine lines but i dun think it helps in dark circles. Will definitely repurchase this.

Alternated between this and La Prairie Caviar Eye Complex, that is until I worked out that the latter was infinitely more effective in taking care of undereye circles (both are marketed as effective in this respect).
That's not to say that this Clarins product does not perform well in some respects: it's certainly lightweight, cooling, sinks right in and has a kind of holding effect on the skin - but unfortunately, that's about it.
If your principal concern in the eye area is dark circles: avoid.

Almost zero effect. Moisturezez little bit and this is it. Seems like I have got even more wrinkles. Wasted money. Never again.

I knew someone who swore by this product so I thought I would give it a try. I bought it about 6 months ago and it did nothing at all for my eye area.
Expensive product that didn't do anything at all, wish I could have acquired it as a sample. Maybe I will do what another reviewer has done...neck and hands. Thank you great idea :)

OK, told the SA that I'm on a search for the perfect eye cream which would help with my dark circles and fine lines...heard good things about Clarins.....tried so many eye creams...would Clarins be THE ONE?
I can report that I bought this about a month ago and have used it religiously day and night AND it is definitely NOT my HG. I like the tube with the pump dispenser. I like the consistency - a gel with a touch of cream. Quickly and easily sinks in, but it does feel a little tight when it dries at first - doesn't bother me though....and my powder concealor goes on easily overtop.
To be fair, I also bought the multi-active night cream (in blue tub) and have been using that too. So together, i have seen some minimizing of my fine lines like between my eyes above my nose, and on either side of my nose and mouth. I've noticed my smile lines are looking pretty good.
HOWEVER, no change to the dark circles at all and I'm not willing to shell out $60 USD at a major dept store for a product that doesn't totally do what i want it to.
My search continues......

Not a fan. I much prefer the more basic eye contour balm. This one makes the skin around my eyes feel too stretched out and tight like I smeared egg whites on my skin and allowed it to dry. The few fine expression lines I have seem to actually be more pronounced each time I use this product. I feel my skin prefers creams instead of gels - I get more of a plumping effect the more moisturizing a product is.

That does it! Applied it to upper lids and got a red spot like a broken blood vessel 5 minutes later. Fortunately, the red spot went away. This was on sale, but not a huge sale. I am using this on my neck and hands at night. All my reject eye creams go on my neck, so it is looking very nice.

Not worth the price. It has a nice texture, and absorbs quickly, but did not improve the dark circles or fine lines, though it did reduce puffiness. Just not worth the expense.

Just picked this up 2 days ago at the DS. Actually wanted to try to Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, but was advised against it by the SA ("it's for older women, ur skin's not in that much trouble yet"). Was worried abt the burning sensation that so many other MUA'ers seems to face, but happy to report that i only felt a mild tightness, and i wear contacts. Not sure about any lifting/de-puffing properties yet (hence i said no to "buy again") but will update once i see results (or lack thereof). Ws advised to give it a month, so watch this space in Oct :P
BTW, i have hereditary purplish dark rings, slight puffiness (more due to lack of sleep) and i don't smoke, so i was really looking for something to stop the darkies from getting worse.

I love this baby a lot for AM use. Sinks in fast. Brightens my eye area. No tightness. No white residue (selling point of clarins eye prods) and I can layer this with cream for PM. Been using this for years.
BTW, this is for firming effect so you need another product for lines. This baby has awaken the sallowness around my eyes and has emphasized my double eyelids...without tugging of course. A permanent resident in my skincare arsenal together with Sisleya. I'll try their Super Restorative for the eye next time.

this doesn't work for me although after the application, my eye area feel abit hydrated, but only last awhile.
I don't feel any of the effect the product has, friming, etc. None of it, so it doesn't work for me and it's quite expensive!

Thought that I would try this product as I am prone to dark circles and puffy eyes when I sleep less than 9 hours. The consistency was nice and felt nice when I put it on but unfortuantely it gave me pimples right around my eye...so not cool. So back it went and I continue my search for my HG! Cheers!

This product was recommended to me, but disappointed. It has a cream texture and did not soak in well. I like more of a rich serum texture, or even a gel/cream. I also noticed no significant improvement after a month and a half of use. Would not recommend.

I'm in my early 40's and began to notice sagging in my eyelid area, much to my great distress! I read about this product in Allure and had to try it. It's a HG product for me for sure. It tightened up that sagging eyelid almost from the first time I tried it. It's meant to be used in the eye contour area and is a lightweight gel. I didn't have any burning or any sensation at all from using it, it's just very easy to use, absorbs quickly and gets it's job done and how. I hope they never discontinue this stuff!

I bought this with high hopes .... only to be dashed. This burned the bananas out of the skin around my eyes within seconds of applying it. Another eyecream bites the dust ........ Based on reviews on Makeup Alley, I bought Kiss My Face Eyewittness and so far LOVE it. No burning, nice moisture, and a great price. Also, a LOT of product.

I really do like this product! I've only been using the product for a week and already I'm seeing dramatic results on the wrinkles around my eyes. My wrinkles have already started to fill and I don't look as tired as I normally do. It is definitely an instant lift. I'll update later on its long-term results.

this is very lightweight, provides some firming and hydration, is refreshing and helps a bit w/ puffiness too. my dark circles are hopeless since I just dont sleep enough. I layer an eye cream over this since I'm very dry. the combination of the two is perfect for my concern w/ hydration since serums just absorb better. also I have very sensitive skin that's also very dry and this was compatible w/out causing any irritation. will repurchase.

My skin is classic combination, oily in T zone, and is also acne prone. So, I am very careful about the eye products I use around my eyes, nothing too heavy. I only use eye products underneath my eyes, not on the lids or the brow bone. I have dark circles, I'm also beginning to show fine lines and I'm not liking them! I tried this newer formula because I read some of the mediocre reviews about the original and was hoping maybe this one was better. I really love it! It is nice and light, it does absorb quickly but it leaves a sticky feel to it. Kinda like the way some of the "temporary" lifting products feel. (BTW, The temporary lift products have never worked for me!) However; it does not leave any of that white residue or anything like that! Believe it or not, it really does erase my fine lines! Although I am wondering if it's long term, I think it's just a temporary thing, which is just fine with me--since it works! It seems to work immediately and there is a bit of a warming sensation. The only thing I don't like about this is that is doesn't contain sunscreen. That's why I've only been using it when I'm going out or something like that. (BTW, The temporary lift products have never worked for me!) It's my HG for when I want my eyes to look good, fast. It also works great over concealer! I LOVE the fact that Clarins gives you .7oz where many companies go with the .5oz size. Hey! A .2oz can add up after a while! I'm not sure if I'll buy the full size or not.
UPDATE: I have discovered that it tends to irritate my eyes if I put it on immediately after using a product with glycolic acid or something with salicylic acid (like my HG Clinique Mild Clarifying Toner).
