This was a great product. It provides a really nice definiton to the lash line. They key with this is to not put it around the whole eye, but only around the corners. It looks great when paired witha lengthing and volumizing mascara

I swatched this on my hand at the MAC store and loved it, but when i put it in my waterline, there was no color payoff. For the price and quantity of product, it was a waste of money. I returned it asap.

So I was excited to finally get a color eyeliner instead of the usual black. I always use graphblack in the technokohl liner. So the MA suggested purple dash and it looked great on the back of my hand, but when I went home to put it on, it felt like I was using the whole pencil to get the color to be noticeable on me. I have olive skin and dark brown eyes so I was hoping the purple would make my eyes pop. It's not a vibrant enough purple to do that. Anyone on have any other suggestions on other MAC purple eyeliner that's more vibrant and doesn't look so dull when it's worn?

This liner is more of a pink based purple than a blue based purple (think MAC powerpoint in Permaplum). MAC describes it as intense aubergine. The technakohl is not as creamy as the eye kohl liners so they go on drier with some tugging. It's in the mechanical pencil form, and the tip broke during application, but maybe I had too much of it exposed. I wore Purple Dash on my lower lashline which I rarely do from fear of smudging. Miraculously, I didn't have any smudging. I will not repurchase because I prefer a creamier formula.

I love the Technakohl liners. I don't like pencil liner or liquid liner. This eyeliner smudges easily and glides on smooth. The color is great. It is a nice alternative to my usually brown eyeliner.

I bought Purple Dash to go with my It's A MIracle e/s, and am not quite sure what to think of it. It is too light to be my daily eyeliner, but it does look good on the inner lid, waterline and saturated into my eyelashes. As allways with the Technakohl liners, I like the easy to blend qualities and that it doesn't bother eyes in any way. But I do wish the color was more intense and stood out more than it does. I would think about repurchasing, but as of now, I'm not ready to make that kind of commitment with this product.

I was expecting so much more.. I was hoping for something creamy, that will last on my waterline with a rich purple color.
This was neither of those requirements. It's comparable to the mineral liner by Avon. With a 10$ price difference, I don't see why you would bother with the MAC.

Oh what a disappointing purchase. I bought this on impulse and now I wish I hadn't. I wanted to use it to line the bottom lashes. I usually do purple or blue for that look so I wanted to try this plum, smouldering-looking liner. What a mistake. The pigmentation isn't very good and it looks so dull and dead against my skin. The staying power is also pretty awful. Doesn't last through the day and I end up having to reapply at lunchtime. Pretty expensive too but I love the shiny, gorgeous look of the liner. :( I think I will stick to Auto-de-Blu for Technakohl liner! This is definitely a waste of money!

I love, love, love me some Purple Dash! This is a staple in my daily make-up routine, this is the only eye makeup I wear other than mascara. Purple Dash compliments my fair skin and hazel eyes. I do need to reapply though, it tends to fade by mid-afternoon. Otherwise, it's a good eyeliner.

I'm glad I bought this despite the bad reviews here. The staying power and pigmentation isn't as good as the other technakohls. However, I only use this for my bottom lash line and bought it for that so it works fine. I like that it's not too purple because that would make me look sick. It's just purple enough to be different from grays, browns, and blacks. I would repurchase.

I share other reviewers' disappointment about poor staying power and colour intensity of this liner. It goes on very dull and only really has a touch of purple. Don't bother applying it to the waterline as it doesn't go on well, nor does it stay on.

I concur with the other reviews with this line. At first glance it is a lovely shade of pure purple, however this liner is difficult to apply and smudge and the lasting power is not the greatest. The retractable liner also does not allow you to sharpen the liner to a point and gets dull rather quickly. The color also does not translate well on the eye and comes off as an off black, not the punch of purple I am looking for (PPP NC15-20). Best bets are MAC's Powerpoint liners in Bordeauxline or Perma Plum, all though these shades are not exactly true purples but the Powerpoint liners are much better for smudging and the lasting power cannot be beat.

HORRIBLE! i applied it lightly onto my lower lashes and by the time lunch came around I looked as if I haven't slept for days! And the clerk also told me that the eyeliner stays on perfectly. >__>

I agree with the other reviewers on this one. It's a great liner and I really like the other colors, but purple dash doesn't have quite the staying power of the others. It's definitely more appropriate for someone who doesn't want a dark line, as you have to work really hard to get that from this shade, and maybe for someone who isn't looking for a ton of staying power - although I don't know who would want that!
I use the liner on days when the rest of my makeup is low-key and I don't need a lot of liner. Its a pretty shade, just doesn't have that oomph that some of the other technakohl colors have.

So far, I like this. I usually use the kohls but this pencil is nicer since you don't have to sharpen it. It's a pretty color used on it's own, just nothing to get really excited about... until I run a little bit of stars 'n rockets over it w/ an e/l brush and BOOM! it screams ELECTRIC PURPLE! It's an awesome combo. Would most likely repurchase, even if I'd just use stars 'n rockets with it. The color those two create is just too awesome.

I went to Macy's looking for a dark plum color to help bring out my brown eyes. I wandered over to the MAC counter hoping they'd have some exciting colors when I saw Purple Dash. I tried it out on the back of my hand and loved the color but when I got home and used it on my eyes, the color wasn't as dramatic. I also had to redraw over the line again and again to get the deepest color possible. I also noticed that it tend to fade. Overall it's a pretty color but the quality could be much better

Although I like the Graphablack and Uniform shades, this purple shade doesn't apply well on my lids. I struggle to get enough color and feel like I'm pulling on my lids. I will most likely exchange this for another Uniform color.

Went to the MAC counter looking for eyeliner and the MA (predictably I guess), led me over to the Technakohl display. I wasn't looking for anything to dramatic, just emphasize my eyes a little, so after drawing a few colors on the back of my hand, I went with Purple Dash. It's a nice plummy color that makes my green eyes look a little more green. I loved the color, so I purchased, but when I looked in the mirror 45 minutes later, most of the liner was gone around my eyes. So much for non-smudging. The Purple Haze on the back of my hand was almost gone as well, but the other colors on the back of my hand (Uniform and Earthline) were still there, so I might try it in another color. But I'm returning this to the MAC counter - I'm not a reapply every hour kind of girl.
