Let me just say that if MAC ever discontinued this color, I will be heart broken!!!!!
I have medium brown hair, turquoise eyes and a very fair complexion. Earthline looks amazing on my eyes. The color is a medium brown with a cool silver sheen. Lasts all day on me, no smudging at all. The liner stays put all day even when I don't use a primer over my oily lids.
Bottom line: very medium cool brown eyeliner that lasts and lasts. Don't want to be without it, ever!!!!!

I was looking for a taupe eyeliner to wear on my waterline. I was looking for something subtle since I can't stand black or dark brown on my waterline. This is just what I wanted and it is a very pretty color.

Like so many reviewers have said before, Earthline is a very beautiful colour, especially with my brown eyes. Initially I was a bit worried that it would turn out like Clinique's cream shaper for eyes in 'Egyptian'. I had swatched 'Egyptian' on my hand in the shop and it looked so pretty, but if I tried to apply it on my eye, no colour wanted to show up at all (I know that it's more difficult to apply pressure on eyelids with an eyeliner but it really disappointed me that nothing worked, especially when the eyeliner is called 'creamy').
Anyhow I applied this to my eyelids and yes the colour pay-off wasn't as good as when I swatched it on my hand but it was OK. In fact, I have grown to like the greyish, feathery look 'Earthline' gives me. I never wear black eyeliner as it's so unflattering.
Overall this is a very nice eyeliner, however, the reason this only gets 4 lippies is because it barely shows up on the waterline.

I have tried so many eyeliners, from Lancome, Dior, Clinique, UD etc. Black is too harsh, I don't really like brown liner on me, and grey is usually what I go for. So I was excited to find a grey/brown color (I have a profound love for all things taupe).
The color is nice, smooth application and not too much smudging.
I actually get complimented on my makeup when I wear this, so this is a keeper. Not HG but I will definately repurchase.

Not good. The colour is nice but when you apply it, it smudges immediately and it's not very pigmented. Not worth the price tag, what a disappointment!!
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Medium, Warm Hair: Brunette, Straight, Medium Eyes: Hazel
This was my first MAC eyeliner purchases. I got it because the girl at the MAC counter recommended it, and while I like the color, I don't believe it's worth the $15. It smudges immediately after you put it on and I don't think it's anything to write home about. I do use it frequently because I like the color, but I will not repurchase once it's gone.
UPDATE - changed this from an overall rating of 2 to 1. I absolutely hate this eyeliner. I used it again after putting it away for a while, thinking I would change my mind....NOPE! I hate it even more!!! It is a horrible consistancy, too waxy, not pigmented enough and disappears after a few hours of wear. Gah!

The first high-end liner I actually like in terms of quality! It glides on super-easily, doesn't flake or smudge, and it lasts a decent amount of time. I put this on at the MAC store at about 1:30 today to test it out, and as of 6:17 (right now), it's still noticeable on my eyelids despite some slight fading. And I'm not even wearing foundation or any other eye primers! It doesn't last to infinity, but at the same time it doesn't just disappear on me in two hours either. *cough* Rimmel sable brown *cough* The only thing I don't like about Earthline, is that even though the color is beautiful light grayish brown on the back of my hand, when it's actually on my eyes I see more gray than brown. Once it's on, it seems dull. But I can definitely see this shade working better on fairer skinned ladies. I'd gladly buy one of these in another brown shade though!

Grey-brown color that is sublte enough to be one of the few eyeliners that works on me. Application is super easy and the staying power is great.
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Normal, Medium, Warm Hair: Brown, Curly, Medium Eyes: Brown
I absolutely love the color. On the package and in pictures it looks like a murky brown and I would never have though of buying it. When I picked it up recently at my MAC counter and swatched it out on my hand, it was a gorgeous grey brown color. It's my new favorite eyeliner!
Age: 36-43 Skin: Dry, Fair Hair: Brunette Eyes: Hazel
I love this liner - In fact - I just realized I ran out and need to replace! It is one of my favorite staple liners. It is perfect for everyday use. I usually only wear this with black mascara for day to day and then shadow and shimmer for special occasions so this is great!!
Age: 36-43 Skin: Acne-prone, Tan, Warm Hair: Black, Curly, Medium Eyes: Black
This is a grey/brown eyeliner with shimmer. I bought it because I wanted a grey/silver eyeliner that I could wear on my waterline. It appears more brown than grey. I use this with other eyeliners - either powerpoint engrave or fluidline in blacktrac. The technakohl does not have great staying power but it does not irritate my eyes when used in the waterline. It's easy to apply and I like the bit of shimmer.
Update: I find that I'm slightly allergic to this eyeliner. I still wear but for not long periods of time.
Age: 36-43 Skin: Normal, Fair, Cool Hair: Blond, Straight, Fine Eyes: Green
Earthline is a very unique taupey brown color. I really love this color, and I think it makes the green in my eyes stand out! This is my first technakohl. I like them, although you don't get very much product, and they aren't waterproof like the powerpoints. I will definitely buy another earthline when I run out, however, since they don't have this color in the powerpoints.
Age: 30-35 Skin: Dry, Medium Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown
This is a truly neutral brown. And it's got a bit of shimmer in it too. It's not as pigmented as the other technakohls but still a great eyeliner. The color is similar to Bobbi Brown's Mahogany gel eyeliner except that this one is shimmery and goes on lighter. Would repurchase when I run out.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Fair-Medium, Warm Hair: Brunette, Straight, Medium Eyes: Blue
This is a lovely dark mahogany with a tiny bit of khaki mixed in. This goes on smoother than my Technakohl in Auto-de-blu. It stays on all day and is a perfect brown neutral. This particular neutral makes my blue eyes really stand out.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
I got this along with two other Technakohls (Graphblack and Jade Way). The MAC artist was really pushing this toward me saying how it's such a "unique taupe" so I got it thinking that it's a pretty staple brown that I'd surely use. However, I find myself always grabbing another Technakohl (Graphblack=HG) instead, so I went back to get an exchange since I practically never use it (minus one lippie).
The consistency is like all the other Technakohls which I love, but I find it's not as pigmented and I have a hard time applying it on my lower waterline. No matter how much I apply, the colour just doesn't go on, nor does it stay after a few minutes. Probably cuz I have really watery eyes, but Graphblack doesn't do this on me...
Age: 30-35 Skin: Sensitive, Fair-Medium Hair: Blond, Medium Eyes: Green
This is my HG eyeliner. I have green/brown colored eyes. Its the perfect everyday color and brings out the green in my eyes. Its a unique color, not as dense as a brown or overpowering as a regular black liner (especially for lighter features). It has excellent staying power!! It fades on the inner corners but everything else stays put all day long. The only downside is since I use this everyday the product runs out very quick. I usually buy 2 at a time to avoid ever running out of this. Other than that I am very impressed with this eyeliner!!! Highly recommend.
Age: 30-35 Skin: Dry, Fair, Neutral Hair: Brunette, Straight, Fine Eyes: Brown
Not bad at all for a pencil liner in terms of staying power, it stays on for most part of the day, except for some fading in the inner corners and outer corner of the eyes. It also doesn't smudge much to my bottom lashline to give me racoon eyes. Colour is a nice neutal darkish taupe with a slight sheen. Wouldn't really purchase again because you don't get much product for the price, and also for the fact that I almost never buy anything twice cause I like to try new stuff all the time.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
This was just an ordinary automatic brownish/taupe eye pencil. The unusual thing about this pencil is that is smells of rubbing alcohol??? I don't know if this is typical of technikohls, but I won't repurchase this one or any other technikohl for that matter.
Age: 36-43 Skin: Normal, Fair, Neutral Hair: Brown, Curly, Medium Eyes: Blue
Though I feel it's a bit pricey. I do REALLY love the color of this automatic eyeliner. It is a neutral/cool taupey stone color. Not matte - sort of a satin finish so it has some dimension. Works so nicely for neutral day eyes. Will rebuy if I cannot find a cheaper/longlasting duplicate. =)

Love this e/l...perfect color for a FFF w/blonde hair and blue eyes...not too dark, but dark enough to show up without looking garish. It's a taupey, brownish, gray color. Reminds me of Clinique Smoky Brown quickliner e/l. Goes on smoothly, and stays on all day at work. Love it! I love the automatic type since there's no need for sharpening.
