NC15-NC20. HG Blush for "natural flush to the cheeks" that looks like it comes from within. While I love my other Joues Contraste (such as Candy and Espiegle which are peach pink blushes) Rose Petale is the most natural looking.

LOVE this blush. Definitely my HG. This was a Christmas gift from my sister and initially I wasn't sure if the color would work for me and had considered returning it for another color. But now that I've used it several months I adore it. I think at first I was using the wrong type of brush to apply it and I was being too heavy handed with it. The shade looks very natural on my fair, yellowish skin and gives my cheeks a nice subtle flushed look. This will last me forever.

That's it! I've found my HG blush. Nothing else looks quite as prettily and naturally flushed, and the staying power is impressive.
The colour is just right for my pale, warm skin, and there is a bit of shimmer that looks so very natural on me.

It isn't cheap- but how often do you repurchase blush?

I am going to side with ccarlino on this one. I am not a mature woman, in fact I'm only 29. That being said, this blush ages me HORRIBLY. Even with a primer, it amplified my pores to the size of dinner plates, and managed to migrate into any fine lines that may be beginning to develop. It looks nice upon immediate application, but after an hour or two, catching myself in the mirror is a brutal sight. It honestly makes me look at least ten years older. I gave this to a friend with less oily skin and finer pores, perhaps it will work out a little better for her. For the price and the brand, I would expect far superior quality.

I'm trying samples of VitaLumiere Aqua, Perfection foundation and needed a blush. So how could I go wrong using Chanel as the complement? This color is too ruddy on my fair mature skin with very little pigment and a shimmer glow. On my mature skin, this blush was blotchy, had an uneven application and not finely milled. Very disappointing -- will return.

Note: I note that most of the 4-5 lippies are those from younger users. Don't think this is a good product for mature, dry skin.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this blush- Chanel nailed it on the color and texture. I feel like a new person whenever i put it on. It's the most gorgeous rosy color with just the right amount of shimmer that transforms my pale, tired skin into somethin' else, let me tell you. My only complaints are about the price and packaging. I know, I know, its Chanel after all, so I cant expect a low price, but I'm not going to be wasting any of this blush. And then there is the packaging. The sleek, black compact is lovely, and the mirror's quality is spectacular, but the one time I dropped this on the (carpeted!) floor by accident, the blush inside shattered into a million pieces. I actually used a tweezer to carefully pick the little pieces from my floor and put them in another jar so I could re-pot it later. I'm taking off a lippy for that. Overall, if i have enough money saved up when i run out of this I will definitely repurchase. :)

I was using the Chanel Rose Bronze and was afraid that this was too close. It isn't. On my very fair yellowish tinged skin, I think this would be too bluish, but over a light dusting of bronzer (Nars Laguna), it looks beautiful - what Bobbi Brown calls a pop of color - pinky rose, but like a natural skin blush. Bonus for me is that Rose Petale has almost no sparkle, so the hint of sparkle in Laguna is not too much.

The staying power is excellent. For some reason, it's better than Rose Bronze.

I have heard a lot about the Euro and US version of the Chanel JCs. The Euro version of this product that I purchased in a duty free shop while traveling is TRASH. Poor pigmentation that I could barely get to show up on my NC20-25 skin. It pailed in comparison to my other Chanel blushes, but I did love the color. I decided to go to my local Chanel counter in the US and repurchased Rose Petale. This was an application where angels flew out of the compact and began to sing as I applied the finely milled powder to my cheeks. The US version is AMAZING. Awesome pigmentation, flattering color, that effortlessly blended into my skin. I would repurchase the US version. However, it still says "Made in France" just like the Euro version. The Euro formulation is baked and the brush that comes with it is black, whereas the US version looks more finely milled and comes with a brown brush. Chanel needs to get there act together and standardize the quality of their products.

I love love loveeeeeee this. It's a very natural pinky/rosy colour that suits almost everyone. It's very versatile and you can wear it to any occasion.

The shimmer looks glittery in the pan but it gives the skin a very nice glow when applied.

I'm NC20, and this has quickly become my go-to blush. It doesn't emphasise redness in the skin at all unlike some other blushes.

This is such a pretty light-pink blush with a really nice scent to it. The texture is really smooth and glides smoothly on my cheeks as well, the only downfall is that I cannot make this product to show up on me at all. I have primed my skin well, and on my olive skin tone you can hardly notice the color.
RIS so I don't think I will ever purchase this. For $50 a pop, I can find better, well pigmented blush for a cheaper price.

EDIT 11/6: returned it - the color was just too ruddy on my skin and I couldn't stand the smell. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I just can't get past the fragrance of this blush, it's so overpowering and unpleasant. If a hooker and an old lady had a baby, this is what it would smell like. Ugh. It's a nice warm pink color, though not very pigmented, with some microshimmer for a glowy effect. Seems like it would be worn well by a wide range of skin tones. I'm on the fence about keeping it because the smell is so hideous. If you have any sensitivity to fragrance, avoid this like the plague.

I agree with the previous poster who commented that this blush can change to ruddy when applied. I am cool fair skinned and find that the colour would be better for warmer tones. I do like the texture and love the colour initially when applied, but it does nothing for me when it changes....this was my first joue contrast, but based on other reviews of different colours I won't be put off, just need the right colour.

I am admittedly a JC fanatic -- but I really am in LOVE with this blush. I don't know why I always passed it by -- probably because I own entirely too many pink blushes -- and while I had swatched it, and thought it was pretty, I had not been overcome with the desire to own it.

On a whim, I decided that I needed to add Rose Pétale to my JC collection -- and I am so happy that I did! The previous reviewer's (milkypop's) assessment that it is a "clean, minimal and neutral" pale pink is absolutely accurate -- it instantly brightens the complexion and makes it look youthful and glowing. (I love JCs for the built-in glow they seem to have, and this shade is no exception.)

It is surprisingly pigmented, and I imagine that it would work on a variety of skin tones as the color is buildable. I highly recommend this shade!

For reference: NW5-10; NARS Siberia.

I had high hopes for this blush, but alas, I was rather disappointed by the quality/formulation. I typically love joues contraste blushes–Espiegle is one of my HG products. Rose Petale, however, did not live up to my expectations. The color is a lovely light delicate warm pink with subtle shimmer. Unfortunately, this particular shade does not appear to be as finely milled as other JC shades, as it was difficult for me to apply, and it always ended up going on somewhat unevenly. This is precisely the opposite experience that I have had with every other JC blush that I’ve tried (they are known for their finely milled powder that applies smoothly and evenly). By way of example, Espiegle and Rose Bronze both apply evenly for me with minimal effort. I also find Rose Petale to change color once it is on–it becomes more ruddy/rosy once it is on, thus while it looks like it would be a good shade for fair, cool-toned gals, I think that it is better suited for someone with a warmer skintone. The staying power is quite good, it lasts around six hours without any cream blush base. As for the scent, I personally love roses and I find the subtle rose fragrance of most Chanel cosmetics to be lovely. I have never experienced any irritation from the fragrance contained in joues contraste blushes, despite having extremely sensitive skin. I can, however, imagine that some people might have an issue with the idea of using fragranced blush, especially if they are not keen on rose scents. I ended up swapping this away as it did not work for me.

I took off a lippie only bc I wish the just wouldnt include such a cheap scratchy brush in the compact..would be better without a brush..I love love the color of this soft blush..it looks and feels great on the skin..It does have a scent which concerned me @ 1st bc i cannot wear YSL face products bc of what I think is the scent or fragrance put in being too harsh...but I have no such reaction from this one and the scent is not too strong..very soft beautiful rose color...

I want to love this product....... there are so many reason why I ca not love this blush 100%. The color is beautiful and smells very good, the packaging is chic and the brush is adorable. However, it doesn't matter how many coats I apply to my skin the color jus doesn't show up as much as I would love. 50% of me wants to take it back and the other 50% wants to keep it and learn to love it 100%. I like this product, is just not on my "top 10" of the year. Hopefully I will finish it fast or grow balls to take it back

I visited a Chanel counter to swatch and most likely purchase Espiegle. I'd heard such great reviews that I was just sure to fall in love. I swatched Espiegle and Rose Petale both on my arm and I wasn't in love with either. The SA matched me in the new VA foundation and I asked her to suggest a blush. She immediately suggested Rose Petale (after I told her what I usually wear in terms of makeup everyday) and I didn't decline. I just wanted some color on my cheeks to finish the rest of my day. She handed me the mirror after applying Rose Petale and I about fell out of my chair. It looked unbelievably natural on my NC25(ish) skin. I immediately purchased the blush.

I applied Rose Petale the next morning with my MAC 129 (sometimes my 130 depending on how heavy I want the application) brush and I was still convinced that this was probably my best makeup purchase to date (and I still am!). Sometimes I think the blush looks a little bit too much in the mornings, but after I blend it in with my EL Powder Foundation Brush and see my reflection in my rearview mirror in my truck (or any other mirror through out the day) I realize that it's just the awful lighting in my bathroom.

PROS:
The color... its so natural on me!!
I think it actually looks better as the day goes on, and it lasts ALL day for me.
The smell. Wow, the smell. I love it! Sort of over powering at first, but dies down quickly for me.
Packaging. It's Chanel, so of course (IMO) it's sleek and elegant.
Easy to blend.

CONS:
Really only the price, but it's Chanel and I know I am buying quality.

While i'll admit that i'm a Chanel whore, i have never given their blushes my attention. After collecting almost Chanel everything (eyeliner, eyebrow, eyeshadow, lipstick (tons of em, yes), nail varnish, foundation, mascara, you name it i got it), every time i wanted to give their blushes a chance, but when i swatched them on my NC30 skin, they simply showed up as chalky, lifeless pale generic stereotypical pinks with cheapish looking shimmer, the kind that you could get from drugstore brands. Time and time again i confirmed it with myself that Chanel blushes were truly overhyped and way overpriced. Being fond of highly pigmented blushes like MAC and NARS and also a discophobe, i steered clear of their shimmery pale colours.

So one day i bought a beauty magazine and one of the looks called "Neo Natural" featured this blush. How could it be, i wonder. The color on the model's cheeks hardly even looked like the chalk i had swatched all the time. It looked perfectly in harmony with her warm skin, almost melted in. Is such a cheek colour humanly possible?!

Trudging through the reviews here, it was about 90% positive and a HG for everyone. Some say they've used up 3 of these. One lady even said the angels sang when she put it on. I doubt i could be so lucky as to get it work on me since it hardly showed up when i swatched. The price was another issue. I was unwilling to make a $40 risk for a blush when i already have about 50 more in my drawer which should last me through the next 3 generations. Since i pop by Chanel every other day anyway (lol), i decided to try it out, though rather apprehensively.

So i couldn't have been more wrong. Now i don't want to exaggerate but yes the angels sang. I hugged my virgin JC to sleep that night. I have never ever experienced a powder blush of this quality. I have avoided shimmer all my life because i do not like glittery particles on my face (who blushes glitter?!) and shimmer usually highlights any flaws on the complexion. But this is not the same. It makes cheeks look unimaginably soft and ethereal.

Now the color, the color! All my life i'm been searching for a clean, clean pale pink that is neither warm to the extent of muddy or cool to the extent or barbie. After buying a million blushes i gave up and blamed my NC30 skin. This is the one. This is the one. I have a few other favourites, but they don't always go with any lip or eye color. Rose Petale goes with EVERYTHING because it is so clean and minimal and neutral. I've had problems coordinating other blushes with a dark wine like my favourite Chanel Rouge Allure Fatale lipstick and Rose Petale is perfect for it because it just endows your cheeks with a soft barely there glow without taking the attention away from your features. For that reason, this will be my HG.

On a side note, a scenario that a reviewer below described totally sold me... she said something like "it's the kind of pink appropriate to wear to have tea with the queen". Thank you fellow JC comrade, you helped me find my HG blush. I'm all set and ready to meet the queen for tea as long as i'm wearing my Rose Petale.

cannot find cons for this Chanel JC Rose Patale...I wanted to have this blush just because of its luxurious packaging but when i got it, i cant help falling in love with it...natural pink glowing colour on my cheeks (NC30), nice silky texture melts into skin easily, rose scent, small brush inside is also useful for me, looks very shimmer on the pan but doesnt show up on my face just brightens up. I would definitely buy this product again (in different shade)
