I have been a dyed red head for about 7 years now. My hairdresser recommended this shampoo and conditioner. People seem to not like the smell? I actually didn’t mind it. My problem with it was it completely dried out my hair. The website says to use it every second wash. If I used it even once a week followed by the conditioner my hair felt horrible after. I also found it made my hair slightly brassy and it does stain so be very careful with it. I don't know if it would have helped sustain my color as I stopped using it.

I have dark brown, nearly black hair, and my husband loves the idea of a red tinge to my haircolor. I refuse to dye my hair, so he bought a bottle of this for me. It's fine as a shampoo in general, but I really don't see any added red tones in my hair after 3 weeks of daily usage (shampoo, let suds sit for 2 minutes, rinse, repeat). It's a gorgeous deep clear red that lathers nicely into white bubbly suds. I like the pump dispenser, though it's best used while held by the pumping hand, as opposed to pumping while the bottle is on a counter or ledge. I need about three squirts for my fine, straight, chin-to-shoulder length hair. I've used up about 70% of the bottle now and my hair texture has gotten drier and more prone to breakage. My hair isn't color-treated, and I normally do not need conditioner. But I have to use conditioner now, at least until I finish up this bottle of shampoo.
Comparisons - Aveda Madder Root shampoo definitely added red tones within a week of daily usage (though it also had the potential to stain surfaces if not rinsed quickly, which the Bb shampoo does not). The Aveda shampoo is also a much better value for the money.
Overall - Fried my hair, and doesn't deliver on color. Retails for $22 per 8 oz - pretty steep. Will not repurchase.

Even now that I've gone back to my natural hair color, I'm always trying to cover gray and looking for products that sustain me in between salon colors. My new stylist recommended using the B&b Color Support Shampoo and Conditioner for True Reds once a week. I thought it would add too much red to my hair, but it adds just the right amount of red to my auburn without being obvious. It also cleanses nicely, although a lather-rinse-repeat is usually necessary, especially now when I'm in the sun and sand, and smells great too. Not sure what the other gals are complaining about with the fragrance; my product has a nice unisex cola scent to it. The one lipstick off is for the price...my salon charged $22USD for an 8 oz bottle. I see Target is now carrying some B&b products, so I might start looking for Color Support there and see if there's a discount.

Im not sure how much this product actually worked. For starters, the pump does not work that well. The shampoo is thin messy liquid and gets all over the shower. I still have stains in my shower. I LOVE bumble and bumble products, but this one was nothing special.

This is a great shampoo. I only use it a few times a week to freshen my dyed red hair. I am a natural reddish blonde but I dye my hair a rich strawberry color and this works great to maintain it. It smells horrible! It reminds me of an old mans after shave scent. Kind of herbal. But it cleans well, maintains my red which is so hard to do and makes my hair feel and look great so I'll pay the crazy 22.50 at my salon and deal with the stinky smell.

I have natural red hair and I used this to brighten up my color and it did bring back alot of shine. This would have to be a item I would get to indulge myself because of the price. It does stain quite easily and the bottle is a little hard to use in the shower.

I purchased this because I had my hair red highlights put in & as you know red is the color that fades fast so I was recommended this product by my stylist, I normally use Kerastase which i still do but I really want something to help keep my red in for as long as I can.
The Smell is not that good, the red shampoo gets all over the shower & it can stain easily, when I go on vacation I've had the bottle leak out on me twice (put it in a zip lock) It has really helped my red but the shampoo doesn't lather that much so I have to use a lot more shampoo & I've noticed a slight build up due to the non lathering. In short it helps the red but I still do use my other shampoo a few days a weak, the conditioner in true red is awesome though.
