Worst nail polish I have ever purchased. The color is SO beautiful in the bottle & even swatched... but the formula is so cheap that it looks god awful on my nails. I own other CoverGirl polishes and the formula in those bottles is a million times better. I hate it because of how pretty the color is. Staying power is there but the formula is worse than the cheapest nail polishes you can find anywhere.

This color was gorgeous in the bottle; a midnight blue with a bit of shimmer. On my nails, it looked like a very poorly pigmented black. It seems I'm the lone person out here where I couldn't even see the blue undertones in direct sunlight. I would have rated it lower, but the application was fine. It did chip like crazy and I don't know if it was because of my skin tone but I did not like the color on my nails.

This color is a midnight blue. I notice that the color has various descriptions here, sometimes as a grey, sometimes as a black, everyone commenting on the blue undertones. The heart and soul of this color is midnight blue, the definition of which is a dark blue that is combined with black that it becomes so dark as to become near-black. However, what makes this midnight blue a little different is that it also has some grey in it. It is as though someone took a blue-grey or slate color and then added some black so it got as dark as a midnight blue, while still retaining some of the grey. In other words, this is a beautiful, complicated, mysterious color that begs you to do a second-take. "Is that black? No wait, it's kind of blue, but not a perfect midnight blue." I agree with other viewers that it looks different in different lights. In an indoor light, it takes on more of its greyish qualities, whereas in the sunlight you see more blueish qualities. (But overall, I'd say there's a little bit more blue than grey.) It's a great spin on the very very very dark nail polish look, and great for winter. I like it a lot, in case you couldn't tell :-) It looks great on my fair, pink-undertoned skin. This is a very wonderful colorful, especially for a drugstore product, you need to get some!

I absolutely love the color of CG Midnight Magic; it's kind of like hematite, only bluer--it's a dark, dark gray with a definite bluish cast and tiny blue shimmer and amazing shine. It looks much more high-brow than it is because the shimmer isn't too OTT; it just adds depth to the color. It's not too blue, either. If you're looking for navy, move along, because this is definitely blue-based gray.
Wear is okay. I'm pretty rough on my nails, so I don't really expect my polishes to last.
My only real complaint is that it can be QUITE thick and gloopy and must be applied with care. I don't generally like CG nail polishes, but Midnight Magic is just soooo droolworthy that I succumbed.

I absolutely love this color. From far away, it looks black, but up close there is definitely something special about it. The navy/blue shimmer really sparkles in the sunlight. The only problem I have with this polish is that I can't use it anymore. It gooped and globbed up after about 5 uses, I'm still waiting to receive nail polish thinner in the mail, hopefully that will fix it atleast temporarily. The fact that it gets thick also makes it very tricky to apply after a while. Staying power is just about average, lasted a few days without chips. The bottle is wonderful, and I haven't had any problems unscrewing the top. I would not repurchase, simply because I prefer the quality of other polish brands.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 lippies is the brush...it is way too thin and long. Other than that it is such a pretty navy/gunmetal gray almost black with a little shimmer...just like the chanel.I've been using it with poshe top coat and its been a week with no chips and no shrinkage. EVERYONE, guys included have been complimenting on how hot my nails look. Definitely worth it

This is really cool and unique. It seems like it's just a straight-up black creme, but if you look very closely, you'll notice that it has midnight blue microshimmer, which gives it some dimension and makes it seem not black (though I'm pretty sure the base color is black). Has a very glossy, creme finish and lasts okay enough on me, though I'm not super picky about chipping and wearing. Richly pigmented--one coat should be enough, though I always do two to be on the safe side. No problems with the bottle or brush either.

It chips so bad after 2 days. I really like long lasting nail polishes... so this was really disappointing to me. The color is ok, it wasn't as shimmery and nice as I thought from reading other reviews.

well i have mixed feelings about this one. i really liked the color. it went on great and looks great fresh but after a few days, it starts chipping. doesnt have too much staying power. also the consistency of the nail polish starts turning goopy and thick after 3-4 uses. not nice.

This nail polish is great. I love the color, it's a great black but it has shimmer to it. It's very chic. Also, I like how you can apply any top coat you want. I use Blown Glass on all my nail polishes- its so shiny and glossy, and it stops the chipping!

I actually used my roommate's, and now I want to go buy my own. I thought the color was black when I first saw it. Indoors, it looks black. I stepped outside and my toes were a dark blue that matched my Old Navy flip-flops perfectly. I've had it on for awhile, and the color still looks good.

Midnight Magic 610 is a navy blue-based black with a steely, gunmetal sheen. It is really very pretty, much softer looking than matte black.
The polish is a bit thin and streaky and you absolutely have to let each coat dry completely or it will bubble. Requires a little extra attention and patience.

Midnight Magic is a blue-black with subtle silvery shimmer, which on the nail mostly translates into a pretty sheen. It applies quite well for a cheapie polish, but I find it does need 2 generous coats or 3 thin-to-normal coats for full opacity. It works well layered over a black polish, too! The packaging is fine, but the cap does seem to get stuck rather easily, so make sure not to be too messy with it :)

This is hard to find, i finally found it at KMART for $3. Great low shimmer black w/o looking too gothic. The brush is a little to long for me, but application is smooth. It's long wearing with Orly rubberized base and Sally Hansen top coat, lasted a week.
After a week, the color did morph a little but by then it was time for new color. Overall, I would buy this over Chanel.

like the color, just a nice black with a bit of interesting shimmer that softens it. 2 coats is good, although i may add a third tonight if i am up for it.

This product...after it is initally applied...is gorgeous. A dark dark navy-almost black on your nails....however..it chips like crazy and even PEELS off.
The application is tricky because it is a very streaky formula...and even with a top coat it does NOT stay put. Literally an entire nail of mine peeled off within a day. So, my advice is, if you are going for a one day look, I highly recommend this. BUt honestly, even though this is cheap..it should work a whole lot better. I love the color, but am very disappointed with the formula.

This is a really great color! It's a very dark, shimmery navy. Two coats matched the color in the bottle. I've heard this is a really good dupe for US (shimmer) version of Chanel Black Satin, but I only have the UK (cream) version so I can't really compare. From far away, this looks like it could be black, but close up or in light it is definitely navy. I would definitely buy this again for the unique color and great price. Only complaint is I found the formula a bit streaky and difficult to apply.

The polish aside from the color is great..Applies smoothly,Wears well even without a top coat..Sadly,this color morphed into a weird greyish blue against my light golden skin..Should have known better though.I can't usually pull off blues and this was no exception.
