I found this product to be so heavy and oily I felt uncomfortable wearing it on my body, let alone my face. It just felt like a breakout waiting to happen. It didn't sink in, just sat on the surface feeling oily, greasy and dirty. Avoid!

I got this a GWP from Korres with a couple of other sun products. I was definitely looking for a cream sunscreen to wear underneath my MU so I was excited about this. Alas, I found the texture so thick that it is difficult to apply in the proper amounts. The smell of watermelon is cloying and strangely sickly. I also do not appreciate the faint white caste this SS gave my face. They need to reformulate this ASAP because for the price, it is far from worth it.

Finally, a sunscreen that doesn't send my skin into conniption fits! This is the only sunscreen I've ever been able to use on my face without breaking out. Moderation in application is the key - you don't need to use gobs of it!

Sephora e-mailed me, prompting me to review my recent purchases and since I wanted to let MUA know what a let down this sunscreen was anyway -

After the helpful assistance of a sales associate, I find myself still on the hunt for a suitable sunscreen.

The sickly sweet watermelon scent mostly masks the smell of sunscreen and it DOES provide decent protection from the sun [IMO anyway], but that's the best I can say about this sunscreen. It never seems to sink in, leaving a greasy, tacky feeling on your face until you remove it. This drawback alone, I could manage to compromise on and set with powder, but couldn't imagine trying to apply a foundation on top of this texture. That thick feeling of gunk of your face does not go unnoticed by your skin, either. Each and every time I tried this sunscreen I ended up with clogged pores and acne, despite proper removal of the water resistant product. Your mileage may vary, as different skin will react differently, but I'm not willing to go around with lumps and bumps covering my face for the sake of using up a product. Already looking for another sunscreen.

I like the fact that it protects against uva and uvb and its spf 30 provides adequate protection for my skin. I get mini panic attacks when i realise that i have left the house without applying sunscreen.

oh and i bought it because they try to be natural. It an average sunscreen. A bit sticky but protection is key.

I am a medium toned asian--this was not only thick and uncomfortable, it was difficult to apply and made my face look chalky. So...not...for me.

This one just doesn't work for me. I don't like the smell that much. It's a sort of sickly sweet (which is weird because I DO like watermelons, but the smell in the sunblock just isn't working for me). Mostly, however, it's too heavy and hard to blend in and thick on my face and I just don;t like the texture. It might be ok if I were going outside with no makeup on and just using it as a sunblock, but to wear under makeup doesn't work so well.

I got a sample of this in the Sun & Safety kit from Sephora. I liked the sound of watermelon and knew Korres was a good brand, so I tried it first. The pros were the lovely smell and that it didn't irritate or break out my sensitive skin (I used for 3 days, if I am sensitive to something I usually know right away). The cons outweighed the pros for me though and I would not purchase this. It's really thick and sticky and hard to apply. It never quite sinks in to my skin and all day I just feel like I have a thick mask on. My t-zone gets pretty shiny with this, too, although I can't say it's that moisturizing because it pulls so bad putting it on. Overall, it's worth a try since it seems like a gentle product, but I just did not like how it felt.

I LOVE this sunscreen! Like a lot of others, I got it as a sample in the Sun & Safety kit from Sephora. I've heard a lot of good things about Korres so I tried it first and loved it so much that I haven't had a chance to use anything else from the kit yet.

It smells AMAZING (the watermelon smell is dead on but not at all overpowering), doesn't give my skin any problems, and I appreciate the fact that it goes on pretty white so I can see what/where I missed. It doesn't stay white forever; I think you need to give it 3-5 minutes for it to vanish. I agree that it's really thick and makes it kind of hard to blend in, but I'm happy to put up with that given how great I think the whole thing is.

This is my every day sunscreen. I would not wear it to the beach or in direct sunlight for long periods of time, only because the SPF isn't high enough for me. I switch to Cetaphil's SPF 50 moisturizer for those occasions. Still, I can't get enough of this stuff.. I hope Korres comes out with more watermelon products!

So I decided to try this because my HG sunscreen from cosmedix is hard to get and $$$ at about 50.00 a bottle.. so I started looking for alternatives. I have to say I LOVE the smell of this. It is thick but I blend it in an it works fine! It does leave my face a little white but once I put my makeup on you it looks normal. I find that it makes for a good moisturizer and I don't need a primer when I have it on. I took one lippie off cuz my HG doesn't leave my face white and comes with a pump in a spray form.

I realize this has some very good reviews, but for me the fragrance was the only thing I could stand about this sunscreen. This is a very thick, white cream veering on greasy. I like to dab sunscreen on generously and then let it sink into my skin, but I couldn't do that with this cream; I had to apply it lightly and really rub it in, otherwise I would have visible white cream on my face all day. One day I had applied this lightly to my neck and forgot to rub it in, and when I was taking off my make-up that night I noticed this sunscreen still visible on some parts of my neck! So this is long-lasting, but I don't want to see my sunscreen. This was also quite greasy on me. I have combination skin that is more on the oily side, but this cream left my face feeling really coated, greasy and icky. It also broke me out terribly every time I used it. My skin is usually clear and not sensitive (it tolerates a lot of crap, switching of products, and so on with little complaint) but every time I used this product I would get a breakout of huge, red, painful cystic acne with the occasional smattering of whiteheads. How often did this happen? Well, I used half the tube before giving up on it, so I am confident that my dislike for this product is well placed. The price on this is about $28 for a little 1.69oz tube--another nail in baby Watermelon Sunscreen's coffin. The scent on this is pleasant, though, and it doesn't smell at all sunscreeny. It's just a very light, inoffensive watermelon (melon scents usually annoy me, but I like this one).

If you have dry skin this might actually be moisturizing for you, but it also might be even more prone to sitting on top of your skin.

I bought this sunscreen to use for my face and my children's faces since they are sensitive to several ingredients in "regular" sunscreens. Love it! No problems with break outs, itching, or irritations. It spreads easily, smells pleasant and doesn't contain any chemicals.(YAY!) It is more expensive than Banana Boat, and a bit more than the organic brands...but it works.

i got this in the sephora sample pack witha few other things. this stuff is *great*...but not for face (i think its too heavy for my face & i live in socal where it would just melt off) i use it for body and its excellent. moisturizing, lovely scent, and long lasting. i think regularly its a little expensive for me and i wish the top was a flip cap instead of twist off. flip cap is easier to open. i will repurchase this if i can afford it.
me: face oily, somwhat acne prone all of a sudden, nc35 latina. body mostly dry skin.

I've been using this product all summer, and have been loving it. I bought it in a party pack (haha) of Korres products designed for summer, as the Shiseido one I had been after has been out of stock on Sephora for ages. Additionally, the Sephora summer pack was sold out.
I've never been a fan of using sunscreen on my face (bad, I know), because they either sting my eyes, cause breakouts, or feel oily and gross.
I get none of these issues with this product.
It sinks in and makes my skin feel velvety, and I don't have any oily after-effects. It doesn't feel heavy, and doesn't remain white and streaky on my skin.
It's worked quite well for me, I feel. I have melasma and it's not become worse while being outside and using this product.
Honestly, I wish the tube was large enough for whole body usage. I hate the way most sunscreens designed for the body feel (sticky and icky).
I chose the 'yes' option, but I'm kind of on the fence as to whether or not I'd purchase this again.
It is fantastic, but I'm also using the 55 SPF facial sunscreen from Shiseido, and I'm kind of liking that a tad more.

my friend found this online, saw that it smelled like watermelons and had an SPF higher than 15 and forced me to go to the sephora store to try it with her. we took home samples to try and she hated it; i loved it. she said it was thick and filmy on her skin, where it was light and airy on mine and left my face feeling soft and supple. i'm surprised to see just how many people online have given it bad reviews to how thick it feels. i'm a redhead (translation, i burn easily and have very sensitive skin) and this doesn't bother my skin in the least - i didn't break out like i do with most sunscreens. i just wish it was sweat/waterproof since i live in texas and sweating is a normal thing during the summer down here.

it's a bit pricey for sunscreen, but i got a few sample tubes on ebay for less than half the price per ounce than a full size at sephora or online.

I don't understand all the negative reviews about this great ssc. What I love about it is that it does not leave my face oily, like Stila's Illuminating tinted moisturizer and others do. And it has great coverage for a tinted moisturizer, too. In fact, I use this with a bit of powder (also Korres) on top and I get great coverage.

I also got this as part of Sephora's sunscreen pack. It does a decent job of protecting my practically abino skin. It felt a smidge heavy, but I had skipped my moisturizer, so it ended up working great under my makeup. I reapply over my foundation and it absorbed right in and didn't make me look greasy or white, like some sunscreens do. The scent didn't bother me, it is a faint watermelonly smell, not totally hideous. Also big plus - it didn't make me break out like so many sunscreens do.

I received this as part of Sephora's UV pack. This sunscreen is creamy, thick and not terribly moisturizing. The texture reminds me of Cosmedicine's Medi-Matte and leaves a white sheen on the skin. I liked that this sunscreen did not migrate into my eyes once I had it on and it didn't break me out. Also don't mind the artificial-smelling melon scent. Not special enough for me to go hunt down.

Update - Of course almost as soon as I saved this review, a big zit appeared on my CHEEK! I don't normally get zits here. Knocked off another lippie and will pitch the rest of the sample.

This sunscreen is too rich and leaves my face looking white. I'm not too sure as to how strong a sunscreen this is, as I had red patches on my face from sun exposure when I used it before going to the beach. So probably it is best used for everyday city use, not intense sun exposure/bathing. It does have a very nice scent though and is very moisturizing. Also, I purchased it in Greece and it was very reasonably priced.

Too heavy, does not absorb well, & I do not really think that it performed as well as my usual drugstore sunscreens.

I am a year round beach bum , and I give this 2 thumbs down...especially for the price. I would not even spend $7 bucks on this one-
