The smell is great. It just doesnt do anything for me... it makes my hair weighed down, but it is also still frizzy!

I washed my hair with a moisturizing conditioner, then conditioned it, kept it on for ten minutes (I turned the water off) rinsed my hair completely clean, finished with a blast of cold water. Then, after drying it, I added a dollop of this leave-in stuff, some heat protector as well, and I straightened it with a really expensive straightener. Why is my hair so stiff, frizzy, unmoveable, and not silky ? Its not even that frizzy naturally, its just wavy.

I think this stuff is a waste of money, except for the nice smell.

It did what most leave in creams like this do. Sit on top of your hair, and glue most of the frizz and flyaways to the hair. It's not like it hides it; it's just like cement.

It binds the two together. Smelled nice, easy to get out, and the packaging color always cheered me up.

This product was a let-down. Makes hair greasy, and it's really heavy, so it weighs down hair. Kind of sticky. Won't be buying again.

This is a nice leave in conditioner. Very thin consistency and moisturizes well. Smells good too. I just don't need it anymore because I use Hair One.

I was looking at the herbal essences website, and saw this and was like "Oh my gosh, I need to get this!"

It doesn't work at all for me, my frizz will stay away for about, 5 minutes then come right back,.
It smells great though.

This stuff is like MAGIC in a bottle. Simply fantastic. It smells delicious and, unlike many hair products that boast defrizzing, actually works! For those saying that it weighs their hair down: a little goes a long way. Don't be tempted to slather your head with it, despite how good it smells. And don't put it on your roots, just the ends.

The only concern I have is the packaging. The creme gets stuck at the top of the nozzle and dries up. Then the next time you want to use it, it's all clogged but then sometimes the product bursts out and gets everywhere.

Crushed pearl powder and mandarin balm? Yes, please! Omigosh! This stuff was a lifesaver to me last summer and is working just as well this summer. I like to use it from roots to tips and especially on the tips of my hair when I was relaxed. My kinky, natural hair texture is quite a fan too. I use this product to protect it from the sun and chlorine and I feel it really works. I just add about a quarter size in my hair before heading out to the pool. The ingredient list is short and I don't feel like this product builds up on my hair like some cream conditioners do. My hair really soaks it up. Be sure not to use too much or it will weigh your hair down and make it greasy. The smell is very tropical and makes me feel like I'm chillin on an exotic island like Maldives or Tahiti. I really like that its a pull and squirt top. No messing around with flip tops that are easy to open or to rip off. Any hair type can use it. It works great as a deep conditioner too! :)

I've always loved the smell of this line with mandarin oil. When I look at any frizz control product I check to make sure it adds good oil and cream to your hair instead of silicones. Your hair can be clean and have oil on it, and in fact that's what healthy hair is.. it just has a good balance of oil. If your hair is fried it's hard for any product to help it or penetrate the hair shaft. It smells so good!

Update 6/19/10:

While this is great for shine and detangling, it's not that moisturizing. And since I learned how to use the Garnier Sleek & Shine Leave-in, I use that more since it's more moisturizing.

Original review:
I've been testing out this leave-in lately and I really, REALLY like it! My hair is naturally curly, baby fine, prone to dryness & frizz, untreated and a little past shoulder length.

Pros:
*Inexpensive
*Smells GREAT! - like gummy bears! :-D
*Makes my hair softer, silky, easy to detangle - I can run my fingers right through it!(which I normally can't)
*Does reduce frizz quite well
*Did I mention it smells like gummy bears? :-D

Cons:
*Can be kind of hard to find. The main leave-in I can find from Herbal Essences is the Long Term Relationship one which smells like baby aspirin to me - I don't like it.
*Not as moisturizing as I'd like it to be, but it's still good.

I would repurchase and have already bought several bottles when I see it because I can't always find it. :-( I'll probably keep using it until I can't find it anymore or I find something better.

Love it. So much I like about this product. I had strayed from it for a long time but I'm back, thank gosh.

First of all, it made my hair FEEL and SMELL amazing when I put it on damp hair. It felt soo soft and smooth, and I love the smell- I'd wear it as a perfume if it was made! It really does feel like a "treat" for my hair, like I'm hydrating it.

The results after styling were equally amazing- this turned my recently uncooperative hair into a smoothed down version of itself, cutting down on fluff, poofiness and frizz and making my hair look soft and smooth. It also made my hair feel bouncy, not too weighed down, more calmed down. My hair is naturally very thick and quite curly, so it tends to poof a lot. This lasted nearly all day, and I love it. I also like how you can use it on damp or dry hair- it makes it a really good all-purpose styler. I can run my fingers through my hair and not rip them through or make it poof too much, which is totally not common for thick, curly hair. It leaves it so calm! I also like how the product doesn't seem chemically. It doesn't leave a sticky residue on my hands either. Plus, it's really cheap (for $3.50 I got a pretty huge bottle- 10 oz.!) and easy to get.

The only things I don't like would be the amount that I use (but, since its cheap and effective, I don't care much, though I used about 3 large dollops) or how long the scent lasts (it needs to last longer! xD) and the bottle is OK (it's a sports bottle type top, so it's easy to clog) but overall I'm in love and would repurchase again and again.

EDIT: Still loving this product. My hair had stopped responding to styling but now with this, all I need is a little serum and some hairspray and I have dream hair. I love it, love it, love it.

I had read a review on this before, and it was very good to I decided to go out and buy it.
First of all.. it smells GREAT! All herbal essences things smell amazing, LOL. The packaging.. not so great. I don't like the squirting thing because sometimes it will give me too much, and sometimes it will also get all clogged up and will suddenly just squirt out everywhere! Other than that, it's pretty good. It makes my hair soft and mostly tames the frizzness, but of course there's always those 1-2 flyaways.

this makes my hair softer and easier to comb through with my fingers. plus i love the smell. i see no difference with the lessening of my frizz, which is what it is supposed to do, but the other uses it does to my hair makes me keep purchasing it. my hair is very dry so i need some sort of leave in conditioner to make it more manageable

I am on my second bottle of this product. I go through it so fast. I put this in my hair everyday. I do not shower in the morning so when i wake up and brush my hair it can get a little frizzy i put a coat of this on my hair and it makes it completely straight and perfect. This is all i have to do to style my hair. This product absorbs into your hair so well and doesnt leave any gross or sticky residue. It smells so good and i get compliments on it all of the time. The packaging is so convenient, you easily squeeze the product out of the top no effort at all.

Just like the Shampoo and Conditioner, this leave-in creme is just as great and smoothes your hair instantly. No need for expensive leave-in conditiners anymore, this is my HG and I tried it all!!

Wonderful nice citrusy mandarin scent, smells very fresh and clean and even when your hair is wet, you can already feel it being soft as silk. Amazing product, picked it up at Walmart for under 3 bucks!!!

Since I have used the regular rinse off conditoner in the summer before which I was ok with. I decided to buy this and it was soooo NASTY it left my hair flat, greasy, and turned my blone hair into ugly brassy yellow hair. It of course came off after one wash. I naturally have very straight hair but its thick I dont know who this would be good for maybe someone with wavy or curly hair. I dont think this product is good for fine or straight hair.

If you are someone like me with naturally ycurly and naturally frizzy hair, you may love this product as much as I have.

I have used it since it came out years ago and it NEVER builds up on my hair. Until I found this product, I could NEVER fix my hair straight. I tried for years but only the salon could do it with tons of Bed Head Control Freak. All I use is the shampoo, conditioner and this balm with a big round brush and my hair dryer with a diffuser. It takes very little work.

I will NEVER stop using this line because every time I decide to try another product and I can't get my hair smooth and frizz free. This may not have worked for others but they may not use it the way I have but I don't really care. I have people ask me how I can do from curly to smooth, shiny straight and I'm glad I can tell them.

If this product ever disappears from the shelves I will be crying in the aisle.

UPDATE: This product has disappeared off the shelves of my local Wal-marts. I noticed in can be purchased from Amazon.com and I'm hoping that once their stock is gone, that it won't be the end of road for this great product.

I LOVE this!
It smells so good I wanna eat it! lol
And it doesn't weigh down my hair,
I have Thick wavy/curly hair a little past my shoulders, and this stuff is great!
I straighten my hair every morning, and in the summer, when it is super humid, within 20 minutes of me stepping outside, my hair frizzes up and the straight shiny hair I had in the morning is gone, but when I put this in my straight lasts days!
Plus the price is great! Especially for the size of the bottle!
Every girl needs an anti-frizz cream, and in my opinion, this is the one to get! love it!

I don't know what I will ever do if I run out of this stuff. I've been using it for over a year now and I love it. I put this on after my hair has been blown out but before I'm ready to curl my ends with a wide barrel curling iron, it holds the curls until I wash them out - I can even sleep on my hair for 2 nights and they are still intact. The best part is, is that it doesn't feel like there is any product in my hair when I use this, nothing is weighed down or stiff. HG product for me!
