I agree with all the others that love this product. I had kept them specifically for nail polish removal (and dampened with remover to wipe my manicure stick on when cleaning polish from around cuticles -- there are NEVER any bits of cotton to transfer to freshly polished nails). Now, however, I keep these under the bathroom sink for toner application and the occasional eye makeup removal. My last order to DHC was just for these.

I buy this with almost every order I place with DHC. Love them because they are lint free and soft. I use them for toners and for nail polish removal.

Silky Cotton are tiny, flat, pillow-shaped, "mini-luxury" cotton pads that I use nightly to apply toner to my face. They don't shed or fall apart, which is what happened when I used to use the cotton rounds/pads from the drugstore. Because of this, they're also great to use when removing nail polish. Some people suggest cutting them in half, but I prefer using them whole as I am extravagant like that, ha ha. But seriously, in a small way I feel like I'm treating myself when I use one--it *is* the little things, after all. It's true that they come packaged in a bulky cardboard box, but I just take them out and put them in a decorative candy tin in my bathroom (and recycle the box, of course--smug smug). On a less-helpful-to-you-but-still-makes-me-happy note, I recently discovered that the used Japanese bookstore near my house sells DHC products, so it's just as easy to buy a box (or 4 as I did last time) as it is to buy cotton pads from the drugstore. UPDATE 3/15/13: If you can't get these in-store or don't want to pay for shipping off of dhccare.com, purchase from dermstore.com. If you create an account and then add these to your 'favorites' list, you automatically get 10% off and shipping is always free (in the U.S.--even to Hawaii and Alaska).

I needed something to bump up my order to free shipping level, and based on reading worshipful reviews of this product for a year on MUA, ordering them seemed like a no-brainer. OK, well, these little cotton rectangles may not shed fibers (which is nice) but they're far from "silky." It feels like I took a plain-wrap tissue (not even a nice, soft Kleenex) and folded it up to make an eye makeup remover pad (which I have done in a pinch). Ouch. I feel like I am scratching the heck out of my tender undereye area... I will use this until they're gone cuz I'm cheap, but after that, never again! Back to the 1.99 cotton pads from Target that may shed a hair but at least don't HURT.

I know this sounds silly for being picky about cotton. However, some of the drugstore cotton that lints easily and absorb all your toner. The saving made from using drugstore cotton may actually become expensive because of the need to repurchase toner more often. Plus, this cotton is very silky and it feels good have this touching your face. To save a bit more on the cotton, you can cut the cotton in half as it really is big enough to do so.

These are awesome. My mom bought like 30 boxes at once and stocks them in our closet rofl. They're so much better than regular cotton balls.

I only ordered these as a "filler" on my DHC order, to get over the minimum amount for free shipping. I was pleasantly surprised by the great quality. I've used them for my last clean sweep of nail polish remover, since regular cotton balls sometimes leave little whispies behind on the nail/skin area. Good advice to think about cutting them in half to make them last longer. When I used them to do the whole job of removing polish, one pad worked well; I just kept flipping it over and rotating it to keep getting a clean cotton surface when I needed it. I will repurchase when I buy other stuff from DHC.

I use this to remove eye makeup and apply toner almost daily. I am comparing this to Shiseido and drugstores, and I preferred this. It feels soft and absorbs toner better, although Shiseido did the same, and there's no fiber left behind.

I can't believe I'm reviewing cotton pads, haha. But seriously - these are really the most awesome tools I have to take my makeup off/apply toner with. They are very very soft and silky (just like the name says) and just glide over your skin. Best of all, they don't leave any fibers all over your face (which is very good for me since I wear contacts).

Even my H (who is quite oblivious to most things beauty related) commented on them and now I have to order double because he uses them with his salicylic acid toner ever night, too!

A bit pricey for cotton pads ($4.50 for a box of 80), but I really do love them. If you're ordering something else from DHC, why not try a box?

PS - they're excellent for taking off nail polish too.

Hmm, i'm not sure about these really.....on one hand I have to agree that they are nice to use and don't fluff up when you use them and they feel lovely. On the other - Are they really better than your average pad? Not strictly just for cosmetic use - I use them to clean my dog's eyes and not have to worry about getting fluff in them (he is only little :-) )

The price is ok for 80 pack (around £1.50) and I would probably purchase again next time I get a DHC fix. However, I'm not sure if they are different in the UK but i would say they are a normal cotton pad size. After reading the reviews here i expected them to be huge - people were saying you could cut them up - but they are normal size to me, just oblong shaped. Also I get through them quick so my large box is going down fast...but I can't blame DHC for that! I like them for application of toner and removing eyemakeup as they stay intact.

Over all they are nice and lovely to have around. I will repurchase at some point but i can survive on Boots own brand if i needed. Give em a go though if you are unsure.

UPDATE:
I have changed my mind, I really do love them. I have come to the end of my box and have now only my normal cotton pads left :-( Very sad but I can't justify paying the shipping price just to get some more. I will wait till I get another DHC shipment. Upped my lippies to 5. Nothing I have used can compare to them.

This is the BEST cotton pads I've ever used. I use this with my toner or cleansing milk. I even used it on my BF for his mini facial. All cotton pads like to get stuck in between his beard (hair that hasn't been shaved for 2 days). You know how it is and I have to pick little cotton fibers from his face one by one. I tried and tested this silky cotton, it doesn't smudge on his face. Thumbs up!!! It's so soft and bigger than regular cotton pads. My friend called it maxi pad. LOL. Excellent product. I'm going to order this in bulk probably, going to introduce it to my family and friends.

I LOVE these squares for applying toner.

I used to use cotton pads (not balls) to apply toner and more often than not, I'd find myself blinking and tearing uncontrollably later in the day because I had a random cotton fiber in my eye.

No longer having that problem is worth much more than $4.50 every 80 days. LOVE them!

These are nice, rather luxurious. I do agree that all the little cotton things sticking to your face is quite annoying so these cottons are a welcome change. They seem to remove more as well, I have not changed anything in my routine and the same toner (Knutek Advanced Toner which is AWESOME BTW) seems to be picking up more with the new cotton pads. They are a little large though, you could possibly cut them in half if you wanted to conserve. Not too expensive 4.50 for 80 and you do get 4 free samples from DHC which is nice. I would buy again.

Sorry, but I found this product to be a complete waste of money. I have never had a problem with cotton balls, but I tried this based on the glowing reviews here. They resemble something you might find next to tampons at the store and, although they are soft, they don't perform better than plain cotton balls. They were way too big for any task including removing nail polish and I will not repurchase.

I bought these after reading the great reviews that this product has received. These are definitely the best cotton pads I've ever used. Not only are they gentle on my skin, they also leave no trace of white cotton pieces on your face. Good for applying tend skin like items, removing makeup, and putting on toner!

Yep, the reviews don't lie. I will keep buying these as they do not eat up whatever I put on it (read: it puts it back onto my face), they are very soft without leaving fluff, they come in a really cute package which I like to have out on my counter, and they do seem to exfoliate VERY slightly which is awesome. I cut these in half which works wonderfully for me to put my toner onto my skin or take off my eye makeup. You don't realize how different or important something like your cotton-ish toner applicator/ eye makeup remover is but after you buy these... Wow what a difference! I will continue to buy these for the rest of my life and I see these as being one of those HG products which I won't like being without. ^-^

OK, I found some "cotton ovals" at CVS which I prefer to take my eye makeup off as they do a better job and are larger and more gentle for the eye area but for putting on toner? The Silky Cottons still have it!

These are the best coton pads ever! They don't leave little fur balls on your face and are very sturdy. These are great for patting lotion on, removing eye make up or nail polish and etc. Absolutely love them!

I love these. They do not fuzz up on your face, they do not absorb all of your toner and they feel so smooth on your face. A little higher than most, but worth it. I guess if you figure in the cost of product you are saving because they do not suck it all up - it might even out!! :-)
