We all know those Philosophy shows on QVC that make the brand look like God's gift to man. So pure, so effective, so yummy. And yet, when some of us try them, we end up with disappointment. case in point, this lovely shower gel. I have to say I love the color and the smell, it reminds me of Pumpkin Ice Cream, which is one of my favorites. But the product itself is mediocre at most. It lathers like any other soap, perhaps even worse than most drugstore soaps. And it is quite drying. The scent after a while gives me a headache, because it is so sweet. The spiciness of it doesn't bother me much, as I tend to favor spicy scents, but this is a mix of sweet and spicy that is not cute. The packaging is cheap, and the only thing I think gives it "considerable" value is the recipe inscriptions or sayings at the front of the bottle. I think this is way too expensive for what it does. I have smelled the other products and I would rather pay a cheaper price for things that smell far better and work supremely than this. Not worth it.

I just used this for the first time today and I'm in love with it! First of all, I love the packaging...I always find myself reading the front of the bottle everytime I use a Philosophy product. I agree with most everyone that it doesn't lather that well unless you use a loofah and a good amount of product. I used this as a shampoo and used no conditioner afterwards. While I used it, it seemed to be a bit drying so I used it twice. I didn't know how I felt about it as a shampoo until I straightened my hair and...WOW! It worked great! Alot better than my usual Redken shampoo and conditioner. It didn't leave my thick hair with any frizz and it made my hair very very soft! I have never colored my hair so maybe that is why it worked well, but regardless I plan on using this from now on for my hair<3
UPDATE on 11/18/2009: I still use this but not as often..It really bothers me that it doesn't foam up. I've tried to use this for shaving and it just doesn't work well. I have used it on my hair but it leaves my hair kind of stringy..not moisturized at all. I liked it at first because it made my hair really smooth and without ANY frizz. But it's such a pain to untangle my hair after the shower because this doesn't moisturize. :( I won't re-buy.

I received a bunch of various small bottles of 3-in-1's as a gift for Christmas. I don't necessarily smell the pie so much in this fragrance, but I definitely smell some pumpkin and spice. It's a good warm-scented wash for autumn or winter. The nice thing about these products is that the scent makes your bathroom smell wonderful, but the scent doesn't stick to your skin, so you don't have to commit to a spicy fragrance for the rest of the day!
It kind of takes a lot of product in order to get a good lather (compared to bar soap, which I usually use), though. It cleans adequately, but I don't notice extra moisture. I only use it as a body wash. My regular soap cleans great and lasts a lot longer for a lot less money, so I'm sticking with that.

This smells definitely more spicy than pumpkiny (is that a word?). It lathers up wonderfully and for a few seconds you get the lovely warming scent of cinnamon. I don't mind that the scent doesn't last on my skin because that is what perfume is for.

Don't let the 3 in 1 claim fool you though. I tried this on my hair once and only once and let me tell you it wasn't a GHD that day. Hence the deduction of one lippy!

Also, I feel that these are overpriced. I know, I know, the bottle is big and well scented but it IS only shower gel afterall (despite what they claim). Hence the deduction of another lippy!

That's all I have to say on this matter.

Ok...philosophy...I am soooo on the fence on this one. I like it, but I don't hate it. When I smelled this at the store it smelled completely like pumpkin pie...but when I got it out of my classic cookbook tonight, and used it, it didn't quite smell like it did when I first sniffed it. Not good. I mean, it was spicy...but not the slightest bit sweet. I guess I will go ahead and finish this one, but I wouldn't see me buying this in the future. Sorry.

This does not smell like pumpkin pie per se, but it does have the spices and general pumpkin spicy smell, so I still enjoy it tremendously. It smells like fall. It lathers great, only on a loofah however. As soon as the gel leaves the bottle, the scent seems to disappear, even if I stick my nose in the loofah. That is ridiculous, but the concept of these darn things are so cute I might still repurchase. It does not seem to dry out my skin in any way. In a bath, the bubbles are pretty bad. They are almost non-existent. Having it in the water still makes my skin quite soft though. This review is specifically for the 2 oz. bottle received in the Classic Cookbook set.

Now this my fellow MUAers, is AMAZING. The smell is right off the kitchen table at dessert time on Thanksgiving, and I love that and this one lasts a little bit longer than the Cafe Au Lait that I tried. Love the scent of this, and I only tried a 6oz bottle. This is definately a must for the holiday season. It gives shower a whole new meaning =)

This definitely smells like pumpkin pie. It's not an outstanding smell though. I was a little disappointed when I first received it because I love things that smell like pumpkin pie. I also wouldn't recommend it as a shampoo though because it really dried out my hair... and if I used conditioner after I used it as a shampoo, the smell would be gone from my hair anyway... So this is only good as a shower gel. Also, the flip tops seem to always break off on me when I pack them in suitcases...

i recieved a sample of this in a swap and i LOVED it. I wish I had a full bottle. it is spicy which i like very much and not so pumpkin-y. exactly they way i like my pumpkin pie to smell!

shower gel: lathers wonderfully, the scent is still lingering on my hands (took the bath and hour ago), just hands though. cleaned well and like i said earlier, lathered well too.
shampoo: as opposed to others, it didn't make my hair feel like straw. i used a conditioner afterward and i smell the spices through it still. before i used the conditioner, it didn't feel like straw, even then.
bubble bath: as far as a bubble bath, the scent went a long way until about 5 minutes before i was done. as sudsy, it made a fair amount of bubbles but they all went away within 5-10 minutes. I did just use a little though since it was a sample so that could have effected it.

i would definatly repurchase (well, buy a bigger size) if i had the money :]

The scent is excellent. Makes a nice lather as a body wash. Absolutely hate it as a shampoo - it does make my hair smell nice, but it also makes my hair feel like straw - very dried out. Given the price, and that it doesn't really work well as a 3 in 1 for me, I doubt I'd buy this again as I can probably find a similar scent of body wash at Bath & Body Works for much less money.

This is by far my favorite product in the shower. It's a tad pricey for a shower gel, but it has lasted me so long that it's worth it, just grab a shower poof to make this rich shower gel last longer.

It smells so good sometimes I want to just eat it up!

Mmmm! It's that time of year again, when I am constantly craving pumpkin pie, and I want to put it in other places on my body besides in my mouth. While this product, as with all Philosophy 3 in 1's tastes delicious, it also does a wonderful job coating the body in pumpkin yumminess and leaving a nice scent to boot. It makes me excited whenever I use it, and I am sometimes tempted to wear my evening gangsta Granimals to show off my spicy figure. All in all, this is a splendidly num bums product. It would have Rachael Ray drooling over her muffin top.

I was craving pumpkin pie so I had to have this when I saw it at Nordstrom this past weekend. They are selling the big 24 ounce bottle for $20 for the holidays. It smells like pumpkin pie with a hint of cinnamon. It's a little spicy smelling but not over the top. I love Philosophy 3-in-1's. They last forever. This one is perfect for fall!

Yummy! I use this during the holidays, like the eggnog, and I love it! It smells so yummy and warm. Very true scent. Wish it were more moisturizing and made a better bubble bath, but the scent makes up for it!

I have a million of these but Pumpkin Pie isn't my favorite, only because Cinnamon Buns, Apple Cider and D. R. Hot Cocoa are my top favorites. But it still has a nice spice scent to it and smells great in the shower. These shower gels are like aromatherapy for me.

I couldn't wait to try this product because I love pumpkin and the spices that go along with it. It also seemed like the perfect fall/winter scent to try. This smells pretty much like I imagined it would. It has a delicious, spicey, scent. The only downside to this product is that the scent doesn't seem to last on my skin or on my hair. However, it lathers really well and helps keep my skin moisturized.
