I really like this eye shadow and wish it was available in other places other than just pro stila stores. I found and tried this eye shadow in the artist's inspiration palette I bought at Sephora last year. This is a very shimmery soft eye shadow that is a mix of silver, purple, and taupe. Some days It looks more silver and on others more purple/taupe. I love to pair this with black or brown to warm it up a bit. This looks amazing with antiqued from MAC in the crease and kitten in the inner corner of the eye if I need to warm it up. The only problem I have run across is it can be hard to blend with other colors because it is sooo pigmented and a little heavy. I also have to make sure I use alot of concealer to cover up my circle's under my eye so it doesn't make them standout. I love to use this eye shadow if I am wearing anything light lavender or lilac or a heather gray....even though I try to stay clear of heather gray shirts because they wash me out. I am not sure this color would work on everyone and it is way shimmery so if you don't like shimmer I wouldn't try it...I think this is a great eye shadow for those who don't run either cool or warm like myself.
I don't know if anyone remembers the lancome maquiriche quad with the colors platinum, angora, and plumage in it....but dapple looks like if you mixed all of those colors together which is great for me because I could never get any of those eye shadows to look right on me by themselves even though they were pretty. (all of the maquiriche eye shadows have been discontinued I think) Platinum was too silvery blue, plumage was too red/pink grey purple for me, and angora was too pink/orange grey taupe...... fastforward six or more years later...and dapple is just right!

Medium taupey shimmery silver gray. That is the best way I can describe it. I just love it because I find it flattering, and I'm sure it would be flattering on both warm (as I am) and cool skin tones. Great as a wash, really brightens the eyes without distracting too much from them (ie sometimes when I wear bright colors, which I still do, I feel they stand out more than my eyes). With this color, your eyes AND eyeshadow stand out. Great color, great pigmentation. (Note: This color is in the "artists inspiration" palette, which I got on sephore.com for 15 bucks, check it out!)

I wouldn't have bought this if it weren't in a palette. It looks scary to a fair warm-toned girl such as myself. The color in the pan is deceptive.
Goes on buttery-soft. Doesn't blend for a hill of beans, so more care is needed with its application. STAYs on all day. Pairede with UDPP in Sin, it becomes a gorgeous way to wear a mono, and requires eye makeup remover at the end of the day.
Looks awesome on my NC20/25 skin. Even moreso on the cool-toned girls. WOW. Versatile!

I returned this shadow. I never really return makeup. It looked nice in my palette, but ultimately, it was just blah on me. I am pretty fair, strawberry blonde hair, light brown eyes and not many freckles. On me, the shadow looked like a silvery/copper metal color or a dark taupe. I always wear purples, so to me, this had no plum. It was neither here nor there, if that makes any sense to you. There are just so many other wonderful colors. I could see this looking good on someone with less pink in their skin and darker hair. Even still, the shadow needs some brown, purple, or black added to it. It reminds me of a more gray or less brown Mocha Cup by Estee Lauder. The texture is nice though.

Dapple is a shimmery light taupe. Super pretty. Pro pans retail for $14 and the individual shadows come housed in cardboard silver containers and retail for $16.

This is a favorite of mine! It is a shimmery/frosty silvery plum. It reminds me of Stila Grace but is darker, more cool-toned, and has more shimmer. I like to wear it in the crease with Cloud or a silvery sand to highlight. A gorgeous color!!

Dapple is one of my new faves! If you are used to Stila shadows being pigmented, silky, and all around great, this one won't disappoint you. It's a unique medium shade. In the pan, it looks like a darker version of Twlight. However, when applied, you don't see any blue tones. It's a beautiful shimmery silver, taupe, and purple mix. Not punched in the eye purple- hard to describe, but so gorgeous!!!

This is a great e/s & I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in since everyone seems to see the color a different way. Take Slate, add some Shore, tone it down some, add a little Cloud, and voila, Dapple. On me, I don't see any mauve/plum, nor similarities to Grace (but I also don't pick up any purple hues in Grace), and I also would not describe it as heavily pigmented in comparison to other Stila e/s. I'd say that it epitomizes Stila e/s in that it's complex and there are lots of layers of color going on, which makes it wearable to many skin tones, and versatile because you can blend it with other colors to make it slant one way or another. On me, it's a really pretty taupe with some grey, silver, brown, purple, and white. What I want from Slate, Shore & Cloud all mixed up into one. !

This shadows is quickly taking its place as one of the most used in my Stila collection.
It's a plummy and silvery grey so it's great for a subtle smokey eye, or just in the crease. I've been using it with Cloud all over and Grace on the inner 1/3rd and Dapple on the outer 2/3rd's/crease.
This of course has the usual Stila soft texture and excellent blendability and is *very* pigmented. I don't have to use it wet to get it to show up on me instensely.
Would def. repurchase. Oh, and for reference, I'm LLL, NC20, Brown hair and eyes. :)

Dapple has become one of my favorite Stila shades. It's a dark shimmery grey with no blue or brown undertones, just a nice dark silver (at least on me.) Some detect a hint of taupe, but I don't see it, especially when compared to Diamond Lil. In any case, it's a great all-around medium grey and looks fabulous with Cloud and Kettle.

I'd describe this e/s as a silvery mauvey/plum with a soft beige undertone, not too light and not too dark... kind of similar to mac's shale only this one is prettier and has more of a purple tone to it...

Dapple is only available in the Pro store. Since I heard so many good reviews about this color, it was a must-try when I visited Stila Pro Store in SC. The color is kinda hard to describe, but the overall tone is purplish-silver. The color goes on differently than it looks on the pan (dark plum shade). It is highly pigmented, more so than other Stila e/s I must say. It's like none other shade that I've owned so far, so I purchased it.

This is a very pretty silvery lavendar color that shows up on my skin as a deep silver color. I do wish it appeared more purple, and I mix it with Mulberry (pro) to get that effect, but overall this is a lovely color that would suit cool-toned PPP's.

Dapple looks identical to the middle shade in the Walk in the Woods trio. It is a shimmery silvery lavender on me. I think the silver shows up more on me, but it is definitely a beautiful color that I can use on its own as well.

Wow! I purchased this e/s pan based on a recommendation from a fellow MUAer & I have to say, I am quite pleased. Normally, I shy away from mauvey e/s, but Dapple is the perfect blend of silvery shimmery and mauve. It's such a unique color. I don't have anything else like it.

Like Grace, but more grey
Taupey lavender
Antique silvered plum
A beautiful shimmery plummy taupe with golden shimmer... cool and warm at the same time
Taupey plum with gold shimmer
Possibly middle color from Walk in the Woods trio
This is almost like crushing up Viola and Shore and putting them together. It's not as heavy on the silver as Shore, but not as light as Cloud. I think this is more like Viola than Grace. Next to Grace on the skin it looks like a metallic lavender silver. Grace looks taupe silver. Have you ever seen those chenille blankets with that muted silvery lavender color? This is it.

This is the first pro e/s pan sugguested by a sweet MUAer. I love to have dapple & moonlight in busy days. I keep swapping and buying different Stila e/s and dapple, moonlight and cassat (pink) are my favourites.

Dapple is a cool grey with plummy undertones and is very shimmery. This is a pro shade that is only available at the stila pro stores. Dapple is the middle shade from the now discontinued walk in the woods trio but it is nice to have it alone! A great color!

This looked pretty in the pan but on my lids the gray in this deep silvery taupe really came out and clashed with the yellow undertones in my skin. This seems to me to be the identical color in the middle of teh Walk in the Woods trio.
